Ah, A Hard Day's Night. My mother took me to see it when I was eight. Everyone in the theatre screamed as if we were at a concert. So great in black and white. If it was in color, it would have caused heads to explode.
So, when the season begins, will there be separate threads for each cheftestant in addition to episode threads? I hope to keep the creative juices going with naming the titles of their threads.
I've also wondered all these years about the Mertz's room. What could the price have been in 1954? That was a classy hotel. Maybe $50 a night is the same as $400 a night now.
My biggest complaint (out of many) is that both of the co-hosts do not stay for the entire 3 hours. One or the other is often absent all day or for certain segments, and then of course are the ever-more frequent days when neither of them are there.

I enjoyed all the musical numbers, whether or not they were set in the nightclub. Indeed, my very favorite is, "California, Here I Come!" on the trip to Hollywood.
Hill Street Blues perhaps had a bigger budget, but always had a lot of action going on in the background, so that the audience knew the highlighted characters weren't the only ones doing the police work.
My very favorite part of the entire series was the end of Casino Night. It took my breath away when I first saw it and it kept the boards buzzing all summer.
