  1. Truth. I laughed in shock. It didn't occur to me that Adam would choose Faith but that would definitely allow them both to hook up with people outside the marriage. Tara's post about the episode also made me think too. It is interesting we never heard about the charges being dropped. Is it possible she had the opportunity to leave but she chose to stay instead? Quinn implied Rachel didn't have ethics before which would make her damn near flawless at her job. I'm surprised she wants to stay after waffling all season but this came along just as she was completely sucked in. Remember at the beginning of the season when she was getting therapy and really trying? It looks like that's out of her system now. Rachel pretty much told Jeremy to his face that they just had grief sex so I don't feel too bad for him. That scene with Chet and Rachel in the car was on one level him giving her a pep talk that she was capable of doing anything. The other level was that he was willing to hold down the gas pedal of a woman who was sure she could not keep them alive at that pace, just for the power and thrill. It is the shortsighted, power crazed thinking of someone who would get a BJ at work, mere steps away from his fiancee. @TiffanyNichelle if the PA is Quinn's daughter, that would be perfect. Season finale stuff.
  2. Another great podcast. I am getting pretty annoyed by how Brandon and Brenda are always trying to shame their parents for punishing them. They must know on some level that they have it coming. On another note, the personal stories you guys are sharing are even better than the show. Love it.
  3. I loved seeing Mr. Turner and all the references. His first scene was great. They also did running gags about the series which were nice. I wonder if they really were foreshadowing Maya and Riley fighting over Lucas. I mean, Topanga was only kept on because of fan response, if the fans want Maya/Lucas they could switch things up. This show seems to be following the BMW in that regard, except Maya seems more of a focus this season than Riley.
  4. When Jim said Brenda deserved someone better and the first thing out of her mouth was "Like who? Someone straighter?" I cracked up. I know she meant it in another sense but still. I will say this was a good episode for Dylan/Brenda and I liked Kelly's lines this episode. It's weird Jim chose to rant about Dylan's values all episode when he's Brandon's best friend and Brandon would have even more of an opportunity to learn about Dylan's dad. It's that thing where Brandon is flawless but Brenda can get drawn into the darkness as least favorite child and a female.
  5. Clayne Crawford is pretty brilliant. I was captivated by the scene where he is reflecting on what he's done in the process of doing something else. I also liked the humor with Daniel. The scene with Amantha and Peanut was good too. She was technically saying the right things but coming from an off person they sounded off.
  6. I had high hopes for Scream since I loved the movies. I even liked Scream 4. The show isn't working for me (I will probably keep watching it. I am weak and it is summer). They did have a slasher anthology on TV a few years ago which was Harper's Island. It used to be streaming on Netflix. That show was not amazing but not terrible. It also benefited from binging on Netlix because then the tension ramps up well. No meta commentary really, but likable characters getting murdered, some scary stuff and the entire season happens over the course of a weekend in a semi-isolated place. I think Scream Queens will stand a better chance. I think the problem with slasher shows on TV is that it's hard to care about the romcom moments and character stuff when murders are going on elsewhere. Also, if you go too long without solving the murder it makes people look dumb which is why Eve's Scream theory could have the best payoff. Scream Queens has the chance to be entertaining amidst the carnage. I agree with both the I Am Not A Crackpot entries. Well said all around. I also love UnReal. I was pleasantly surprised since Marti Noxon is not exactly synonymous with quality these days.
  7. Melissa Fumero and Will Arnett are the dream team of the new final round format. That is how it should be done unless you are on a team with Yvette Nicole Brown, in which case, shut your face and let the lady do her work. I didn't mind the Librarian in the final round since she clearly knew her pop culture but that other guy should've won for policeman. That was too little of a difference and they've accepted things in the past. I echo Actionmage's statements on not acknowledging how the celebrities know each other. This show is all about that stuff by creating the celebrity friend vibe. It was weird that didn't happen this episode. The thing that was interesting to watch in Four Letter Word was how the Librarian's team found everyone scrambling hilarious at first and then realized the other team scored more points than they did. It was like, "haha... uh oh." Oh McPhee. Her whole team was pointing at Melissa, basically out of their chairs trying to get her to say the answer. Melissa was like, "no, don't look at your teammates." McPhee LISTENED. So much wow.
  8. I can't believe Susie's death was on some random mystery. It was a two parter at least but still. The cold open was sad knowing what was coming.
  9. I noticed that too. She began the scene lecturing them on getting away with murder and then asked to go back to work. You participated in someone's death like a day ago, Shia. You're ready to get back at it? Anyway, I don't think she's fired but I do think she has the potential to snap without supervision. I totally thought Mary's sister was going to expose the letter as fake, live on TV and things would spiral. This was another interesting route to use. I found it weird Jeremy was disappointed that his hookup with Rachel was just grief sex when recently he didn't want to start anything with her at all? At least he wasn't too much of a dick about it and changed the subject.
  10. Yeah, it felt very much like Lena was using it to justify her own secret. The whole "Mariana would take it back if she could and will never do it again so maybe she should never admit the truth?" thing was pretty clear. Then Mariana actually wanted to date Wyatt for the wrong reasons so it threw a wrench in all of her logic. I also can't believe Callie would date a foster brother again. I guess she does identify with him in a way with having the rough foster experience and the brother he refuses to give up. Still, come on, girl. All you had to do was wait for him to be out of your house. Callie should've taken the car but I liked the moment when she said she was still splitting the car with Mariana, especially since it was moments after their huge fight. At least Callie had a mostly happy birthday. Rita rolling out of the bounce house was hilarious.
  11. Great episode. You guys are producing them rather quickly which I love.
  12. I am so happy this show is back. I am enjoying the new games. The two celebs in the final round is definitely going to cause problems. First of all, why do they have to be one from each team? Can't it just be two celebs? I feel like it would take a little pressure off the celebs since it's not all on just them to give a regular person money they could really use (though seeing the tension in the last round is part of the fun). Plus, if the celeb gets stumped and doesn't know someone, the other one can take over. However, there are also the problems which were shown tonight which are they could talk over each other, have conflicting clues or just burn through time because they both want to talk. I feel like with just Zachary Quinto the guy could've won because they eventually got into a rhythm. Was anyone else kind of shocked that John Legend and Jesse Tyler Ferguson both passed on so many songs on How Do You Do? Of all the people who can make it work in that game, it should be them. With the woman civilian tonight, she talked about how busy she was, I wondered when she had time to get caught up on pop culture.
  13. I loved all the I Am Not A Crackpot topics as well as the surprise Game Time. I think if you do name the first episodes of series, you could put (pilot) along with the title. Best of both worlds. Shorter seasons is a split decision for me. Obviously, a lot of shows shouldn't last beyond a season (or a couple). Some could keep going for years with quality. It's probably right that mythology series should at the very least have shorter seasons because audiences do keep track of continuity errors. Even if there is only one show someone watches passionately, they know enough to know when those mistakes are made. I also think shows should also be allowed to retool and change the formula if they need to keep things interesting. However, I am slightly annoyed with the revolving door of characters on "The Mindy Project" if for no other reason as half the time they fail to explain why characters left. Answering the door right away does bug but you could get around it fairly easily. Either show the door opening rather than the character knocking/ringing or allow characters to talk while waiting for the door to open.
  14. That's where my mind went to. I also thought of her offing the ex near the end of the episode. I don't think Jeremy stopping that guy should've been such a big deal to his fiancee. Someone had to stop him. I agree that he was trying to live out a fantasy in the beginning sex scene. He doesn't want to be with Rachel in a practical sense but he does want her. I totally agree about the last 30 seconds ads during the show. If there was no warning, that ending would've been way more powerful because you wouldn't expect the show to really go there. I also agree this is a reason why Everlasting was aired during filming. Then they couldn't cover up something this awful. They are going to be in a lot of trouble, not just because they essentially drove Mary to this point but as she was about to kill herself they were saying things like "I have a woman on the roof and I need a camera on her." On a less important note than who is going to jail and if this show is now over, everyone is going to be a lot worse at their jobs since they're scared of pushing people too far. Fair enough. Rachel loved how good she was at her job. She was good enough to talk someone to a ledge but not off one. That's going to mess her up even worse than she already is.
  15. Another great podcast! "I need to be absentee from this!" Had that been Cindy's line, this episode would've been twice as good. Or bad. In this show it's hard to tell. A little nitpick, Cindy and Glen said that it was their one month anniversary when she met Jim. Though, it makes Glen's obsession with her and what ifs all the weirder. Like, she obviously wasn't that into him initially if she dumped him for another dude right out of the gate. Not to mention Glen's weird introduction when he takes 8 million pictures of Cindy at a garden store and claims he didn't recognize her until afterward. So, that's just you going about your day, Glen? That last clip did not include Brandon implying Brenda is his better half and she calls him dear. Really? Really? Come on, they had to know what they were doing. Lastly, they say it's part of Brandon's personality to gloss over things and not look too deeply, even though they made being a reporter such a big part of his deal. I would love to know how some of the choices were made on this show. How did it all get to the air?
  16. I've always loved this bit of soap opera trivia, maybe because they eventually made fun of themselves. I mean, it was a successful recast because the actress became well liked, in a popular pairing and they could laugh about it later.
  17. It looks like the device in Jackie's room could be a TV with a speaker on the side which exists for some reason. Otherwise, she decided to bring a microwave upstairs with all the other random technology she's hording up there. Maybe the best episode you guys covered so far. You guys did it justice. That barely there Jim/Brandon plot was weird. I did find it interesting that Jim told Cindy to give Brenda a chance to make it up to Cindy (for not telling her about the fashion show). Brenda... doesn't really do that but at least Jim had her back at some point.
  18. I liked it but I didn't wow me. I also like that they went with a different mythology.
  19. Spencer: "No, Melissa just buried her alive." JUST BURIED HER ALIVE. This is why I love this show.
  20. You know, there are a lot of fanfiction contests on the internet but one I remember seeing was a badfic contest. In that, you intentionally wrote horrible fic that parodied all the other bad fic out there. This included poor characterization, ignoring your own canon, no use of logic. Maybe the writers of Under the Dome are in such a challenge. I dropped it a long time ago, but the way you guys talk about it makes it seem like day drinking on the set wouldn't be frowned upon. I could hear the rage in your voices while talking about it and that was sort of amazing. I like to pretend it doesn't exist otherwise like Sarah, I would be furious it's on the air while good shows are getting cancelled. I loved the "Worse Than Jazz" discussion. Love the game time.
  21. Word. And if he apologized right away, you know she would've forgiven him. Instead it was "Your mistake may have messed up my future" and Brandon is like, "welp, I guess we both have a reason to hate Danzel now." I would never speak to a teacher the way Brandon did. Anytime there was a curve in one of my classes, it was just an adjusted scale. Like teachers would say if no one in the class got a perfect score, it was probably a miscalculation of the teacher's part so the highest score would turn into an A and so forth. Why does a hairdresser owe Dylan a favor?
  22. I agree. I think Rachel didn't even know what she was going to do until the last possible second. Interesting how Rachel's conscience kicked in when not in contact with the Everlasting team. I'm not saying she's a good person but she has some human decency. Count me in on preferring Adam/Rachel to Rachel/Jeremy. Adam is an operator who also rolls with what she says, which I think is what would be ideal for her. I think Jeremy is portrayed as the good guy (well, the best that would be involved in this show) who cares about her and made her happy. However, since most of that stuff happened offscreen, he's the guy who asked how she was doing for just long enough to get on top of her. Then he got upset about it even though he was into it a second before. I'm surprised Qunn's thing was resolved so quickly.
  23. I'm shocked Milo Ventimiglia didn't make the list. I feel like he has that Elizabeth Reaser thing of getting onto high profile shows. I have an irrational dislike of Katie Holmes. I have nothing against her as a person but I don't think I have liked a single one of her characters. I have the same thing about Nicholas D'Agosto. He's a handsome man who has bravely played some unlikable characters but I don't think all of his characters were meant to be unlikable. It could be an issue of writing in some of these cases but either way.
  24. Was it ever explained how Kelly got home? Also, got to love that moment when Brandon learns he can quit his job if he makes the basketball team, which is the kind of special treatment he was railing against all episode. Hypocrisy is one of the more prevalent themes of this show.
  25. When Brandon realized all he wanted to say was goodbye (which was clearly a lie given how he stalked Sheryl to the door), and Brenda said, "that's a start," I felt like she was just looking for an excuse to leave the room. Like, she came in wanting gossip about the drama going on and decided she would rather be asleep. That must be what happened with Sheryl. She didn't want Brandon to follow her to the airport so she just said something to get him off her back. That's the only explanation. Another great episode though. I don't know how this show existed so long without you guys.
