  1. I always love talk of Happy Endings. I think the Thanksgiving episode that shows how they all met on The Real World might be my favorite. I agree with those that said Dave is probably the weakest link of the ensemble.
  2. I loved hearing Better Off Dead mentioned. I love that weird little movie. I tried showing it to my friends though and they weren't feeling it at all. It's hit or miss, I guess. Back on topic, I guess David's sudden feelings for Donna were just to get him to go visit his mom? Like that was the whole point right? Poor Clare just gets stuck with whoever doesn't have anything going on in their storyline.
  3. I have to say that Psych is definitely one of my go to comfort shows. While it was still airing, I would frequently forget it existed until I happened to see it while looking through stations but I was always happy when I found it. And at a time I was really down, I would just turn on an episode everyday on Netflix. I would definitely recommended it for a comfort show canon.
  4. This two-parter truly felt like two separate parts. It could have aired on different nights. It was nice to have two episodes to watch but that moment with Gina at the end was shocking and hard to watch.
  5. I was very Team Donna in that talk about Valerie. Like Kelly may be right but who cares? Like literally why would Kelly care if Valerie smoked pot and maybe didn't want to confide in someone she just met about it? They were working hard to restart the rivalry right away.
  6. I loved Tara correctly guessing George as an answer in game time. At the risk of forever destroying the idea that I have good taste in TV shows, I will say that season 2 of BoJack Horseman was up there with Fargo and Brooklyn Nine-Nine as one of my favorite shows of 2015 (I understand this is overhyping it). That said, I found season 3 to just be good, not great. In my opinion, the premieres tend to be the weakest episodes of every season. I feel this is a show that is made to be binged. It's heavily serialized and builds on plots and jokes from previous episodes. To get into it at all, I think you have to commit to the binge for awhile. Or not. It's up to you. If nothing else, here's a clip of Jessica Biel playing herself. It gets spoilery after the first minute.
  7. You guys were very on point this episode (like every episode). I loved it. If Dylan wasn't suspicious of Kevin after seeing his mustache, then he has all of these problems coming.
  8. It amazes me that in these episodes everyone believes all of the rumors and lies that Laura starts despite her history with the group. She lied that Steve was a rapist, she lied to get Steve's number from Andrea. Yet, everyone is like "this all checks out." I get they wanted to bring the actress back but really. The other thing is the Clare of it all. I don't get why everyone acts like Clare's antics are hilarious and charming and not at all weird? I mean, just because she's a hot girl, they expect this to work but it's grating just watching it.
  9. I was shocked when this popped up on my DVR but my first thought was I hope Tara and Joe know! Great podcast. The other problem I had with the final round was it seemed the civilian would open her mouth to talk but then shut up to hear what else Bellamy and Julia had to say. Not a good strategy. I had no idea the show was renewed so that's good.
  10. That space shirt is awesome. It's always good to see Happy Endings. Brad and Jane is one of my favorite TV married couples.
  11. I liked what was written about Mary Jo but I think her realism is why I would've ranked her lower. She was a person of contradictions which is very human and real but could also be grating. In trying to make her have rants like Julia, she would swing from one extreme to another. That said, it was a great show and everyone had their role.
  12. His last appearance on that show is really satisfying, particularly if you think about his behavior on this show.
  13. The entire first scene with Jill and Brandon, I really wanted to have Brandon put down the toaster. He was holding it like a child and it made him fully look like a robber. What was he planning to do? Throw it at her? I also had to laugh at Nat's scene with Brandon and Brenda. I suppose that's a really nice way to fire someone.
  14. I watched the DVD of this episode and the original music was there. Also, in the commentary they mentioned that Kelly's dad was an extra they picked out. They also mentioned at the end they wanted the sign to morph into Beverly Hills 90210 but Aaron Spelling vetoed. Good note. As for Gil, at my high school graduation they had us vote for a teacher to talk at the ceremony so that could be what happened here. We chose the one most likely to pull a Sarah D. Bunting and go off book. He did. I have to say as a season finale, this sucked. However, it would've been a good series finale. It had nostalgia, everyone was getting along and looking forward to their futures both separate and together.
  15. I was surprised Jacqueline had so much growth this season. Though she is still obviously flawed. Titus made some progress too and I loved his new relationship. I am glad Kimmy is finally starting to deal with her issues while being a good person. I was sad to see Xan go but enjoyed the introduction of Mimi and Deirdre. Lillian did get a little repetitive but it looks like she'll be running for office which will give her something to do. It was a pretty solid and funny season overall. "The teeth are the boobs of the face."
  16. True. I was still a fan of Bob for the rest of the fun of the episode. The Sex and the City episode was a highlight for me. Good for Charles becoming a dad. Also, good for Gina for being competent.
  17. I also loved game time even though my brain was not cooperating. I feel I would've voted that "I Love Lucy" episode in since it was so iconic and as you said, created that TV trope. That Tickle ad was something else. I also really enjoyed all of Liv's edited together comments. Haha. Lastly, I'm glad Greek is coming back. I always liked that show and felt bad it didn't become a bigger hit. Pretty Little Liars and Switched at Birth showed up at the end of its run and caught on. Chasing Life and the Fosters also shared in that wave of success. It seemed to just miss the boat.
  18. That bugged me too. I mean, I know the guys could provide more cover but they could've also have taken her out faster and in different routes since they know that hotel so well as mentioned in the podcast. The girl that was being compared to Andrea in an earlier scene is villainous Kelsey Jefferson from "All My Children." Yeah, she always kind of talked like that.
  19. Great podcast. This episode made me realize how much I've turned against Dylan since I was Team Steve for most of it, even when he was in the wrong. Do schools really sell tickets to ditch day? At my school they were like, "we are aware you're going to ditch but we can't endorse it." Class was still held.
  20. I was blindsided by what's been happening with Abbi and Trey this season. That said, tonight I found myself kind of rooting for it? If Abbi can get passed everything Trey (and Kirk) did to have sex, they might be able to make it. Haha. Good for Ilana for having a good time.
  21. It was shocking to see Yvette miss a couple of answers. She held in there though. Still the best. In defense of Abby's lobster answer, she seemed kind of ashamed. I feel like that answer could've worked for surf and turf though. However, that game is really about building on the team's answers like they did with broccoli. Greg Grunberg was a little much at times but I did like his "now the teams are finally even" joke when it was just him against all four members of the other team for Jane in the Box. He also was a solid player.
  22. Wow. This show has had a lot of big twists this season. I liked it. I wonder if Kelsey will aim rage at Liza since she wasn't Thad's biggest fan.
  23. Caught you up in the other thread. I liked Maddie standing up for Rebecca but she threw her mother under the bus and didn't get in trouble at all for outing herself as been an alcoholic. I guess we'll see Maddie and Rebecca in full effect again? We sure got lead around by the nose this episode. Also, Cynthia may have been being adventurous but her fiance was right. There was a bunch of parents and students at that party and they work at a school that some of those kids go to. Not cool. Plus, it seemed like she was only into him at that moment because of Craig.
  24. Since there were some questions, here is the gist of what happened: We saw Ellie and Maddie's past. (Ellie is the friend Maddie was fighting with earlier in the season who was trying to drink with her). I guess Ellie and Zach were friends first. Maddie came joined their school late in the game and was somehow already friends with Rebecca. Ellie was initially jealous of Maddie's instant popularity. I guess there was always some tension between them but not much. The flashbacks also revealed that Ellie had an uncle who she completely adored. He was a drug addict who had trouble staying clean. He eventually died of an overdose and Ellie found his body as a child. In the present, Ellie put together all of Maddie's sketchy behavior, went to the closest sober house and found Maddie there. Maddie came clean but told Ellie to keep quiet. Unfortunately, Ellie is so traumatized by what happened to her uncle that she decides to blab to another one of their friends so they can be vigilant in keeping Maddie sober. Zach suspects all of Maddie's lying is because she's cheating on him (he's accidentally right there. More on that later). The other friend tells Zach that Maddie is in rehab to clear her name. Terrible idea but these are kids who are high all the time. Zach shows up at the sober house. Maddie keeps lying to him even as he does. They breakup. Elsewhere, Maddie kissed Wes (there was no fallout for this either since Maddie broke up with her man for other reasons anyway). Craig kissed Cynthia. He got drunk while the guys took care of him which is nice I guess? We saw no fallout of Maddie's friends spilling all her info. Wes talked Charlotte into going to Al-Anon with them so they bonded a bit. Also, Trish went off to get some help and was gone the whole episode. The show has a way of skipping some consequences.
