  1. I think at least some cat allergies are related to a protein in the saliva and skin, so hairless cats don't actually help.
  2. Contrary to what the show's title would suggest, the Finding Bigfoot crew has yet to find anything.
  3. "Grow up? I have a Roth IRA! I eat wheat toast! You grow up!" "There’s nothing scarier than the realities of the municipal court system. Let’s get back in there…and tell him how bad the website is." "How did you get him to talk? Did you show him the municipal court website, with the pull-down menus you can't click on?"
  4. I laughed when they said his character was supposed to be from Belfast or associated with Belfast or something, because it reminded me of Scott Aukerman's (deliberately) terrible Belfast accent in the Patrick McMahon episode of the Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project.
  5. From the AV Club's review of this episode: "By making Kilgrave more charming than menancing, Jessica Jones is hinting at a hard truth through a superhero lens: Abusers don’t just rely on physical threats. They cultivate a sense of trust and intimacy with their victims that keeps the cycle of violence going. Though Kilgrave is too far away to actually control Jessica, he still manages to engineer a situation in which she’s sending him daily selfies. That non-superpowered psychological control is just as terrifying as his ability to make someone throw scalding hot coffee into their face." The writers and Tennant definitely do a very good job of portraying this.
  6. Yeah, the superpowers/special abilities kick things up a notch, but the really unnerving thing about Kilgrave (and Simpson/Nuke, to some degree) is that the underlying entitlement, gaslighting, and abuse is NOT something foreign. The show raises a lot of questions like "what if that shitty ex you had also had mind control powers" and that is terrifying.
  7. Plan B is not the same as RU-486. You can achieve the same effects as Plan B by taking multiple regular BC pills. I think some people experience nausea or other side effects, but plenty of people don't have any issues.
  8. Hunter made some reference in the matchup ceremony to how picking Britni was a good decision...why didn't he take her on the date? That truth booth would have actually given them useful information, even if they weren't a match, since they're one of the three couples that could have been the second match the first week.
  9. It also seemed like they did a terrible job pairing up for the challenge. I get why Stacey drives Alec crazy (I feel the same way), but getting them in the truth booth would be more valuable either way than him and Melanie.
  10. Devin scares the shit out of me. I feel bad for whoever is matched with him...luckily the show has a terrible track record of relationships lasting after.
  11. Weren't Kiki and Austin paired up this week? I think Stacey and Alec are the fourth couple who could have been one of the matches from last episode.
  12. I don't know if I can handle more election plotline during an actual election year.
  13. Claire told the public that she had one abortion (after being raped in college). If I remember correctly, the truth was that she had three abortions (none after the rape?).
  14. Wasn't there a reference in the first episode to Sean having cheated previously?
  15. Most of the criticism I've seen of it is from people who think it's not a good portrayal of BDSM.
  16. Regina going in to talk to the professor made me cringe. Do not do that, parents.
  17. Jake: I know it'll be a lot of effort, but I'm willing to put in the work. Sophia: I'm not. And she walks away without Jake trying to harass her about it. I hope they don't go back on that because I found that so refreshing. Holt's autocorrect comments were just icing on the cake.
