  1. I believe only Derick & Jill and maybe Amy too attend this church. The Duggars homechurch.
  2. Posted in the media thread. "The show I'd be interested in is "Duggars go Mainstream-after they rethink their positions on...everything! Follow Jim bob and Michelle as they try to navigate the outside world, connect with a mainstream church, send their young children to school, enter them in sports and dance, allow some TV watching and reading of certain books..." Of course this would have to be aired on The Fantasy Network (is there such a thing?)" The Jeub (sp) family, who are long time home schoolers, with a couple of older daughters who defected, have enrolled their youngest six children in a public charter school. So maybe, just maybe, there is the slightest hope that the Duggars will rethink things.
  3. Replying to this in the Sweet Fellowship ... thread.
  4. Churchhoney, you are awesome, special and maybe a little surreal. But, no, really, you ROCK!!
  5. JB once mentioned that he never goes anywhere alone, that he would bring a kid along if need be. I have never seen him with a phone or using a computer, and Michelle's phone never leaves her hand. Does JB have a flip-phone and does he restrict his own computer use?
  6. This was on the SOS Ministries site: "Honduras – The planting of a fellowship work has been initiated and is growing with the appointment of a missionary couple from the El Salvador mission and the purchase of a home." Could that be the next stop on their tour? With a house, no less.
  7. I only glanced at part of the minister's sermon, but the focus shouldn't be about making sex a priority it should be about making communication a priority. I get that sex can get lost in the hustle & bustle of work and raising a family, but some times it needs to take a back seat. My hubby & I have been together 33 years and at different times during those years we were dealing with a lot of issues that took top priority. The Duggar theory on sex is whacked. A wife (and husband, in the real world) need flexibility in their relationship to allow sex to take a back seat at times without hurt feelings, or worries of cheating. And personally I ain't nobody's pin cushion nor would I ever be. IMHO cheating usually has very little to do with sex anyway.
  8. At 15 (and a young 15 at that) I could not have paid my son to dress-up and perform in a cowboy skit. My mind is a boggling.
  9. I gotta stop checking in on this forum. Every time I get up to do something productive, I say, let met check in on PTV. I know, I know, I have choices and consequences. ;)
  10. If Anna wanted a divorce I'm sure there would be no shortage of lawyers willing to make it happen pro bono,
  11. Sister Wives is still on. Last season the 1st (& legal) wife divorced the husband so he could legally marry #4. Not sure how I would feel if I was #2 or 3.
  12. Or how about pay to name the baby. We could all pitch in and think of a wonderful name for the baby to grow into. Edited to add that Fire & Binstone (love that) are, like another poster mentioned, too immature to know they're broke or what the cost of living really is.
  13. JB would be more apt to let Jana be a seamstress with all the sewing done at home. And maybe if Jinger is lucky, she could have a photography studio, also at home. And Joy could be the 'overseer' of the kids, Jana and Jinger.
  14. I think it is a little of both leighrhoda, the Bates family also have many of the same 'safeguards' in place. Gothard preaches that men who are the strength and backbone of the family, also have no control over their penises.
  15. With the exception of the dunk-tank for baptisms, it looks like an average church. They even had Disney Characters at an event. I wonder how all that sits with Jill. And how does she handle Derick seeing all those knees?
  16. I think Churchhoney hit it on the head - Nature vs Nurture. Parenting can be somewhat of a crap-shoot in that great parents can have some effed up kids and vice versa. And nurture isn't from parents alone. Josh most likely would have some different traits had he been born to different parents, as well as having some unchanged traits. I think the difference with the Duggar 19 and the average kid, IMO, is the 19 have been indoctrinated rather than raised, which hinders their ability to grow & change, as most of us do as we reach adulthood.
  17. I think their only option is a mea culpa. Yet I think they lack the insight and humility to even go there, even for a profit.
  18. So if one is dieting, and they eat a cookie, they may say eff it, "I already ate one and ruined my diet I might as well eat the whole bag." So does Josh think "I'm already looking at porn which is cheating, so I might as well get boinked too."?
  19. Thank-you Mbutterfly.
  20. This is a real question from my religiously naive self. If one is forgiven for all sins as long as one is a believer, what, other than the morals which the average person has, is the motivation to not sin? It appears to me that a less then moral person could use their belief as a Stay Out of Hell Free card.
  21. I found Waldo!
  22. ilovemylabs, if I have said anything hurtful, please accept my apology. I try and be mindful of different beliefs, and I don't intend to be disrespectful of other posters.
  23. Does anyone else remember Jill saying something to the effect of "I hope Iz grows up to be like my siblings, well, like the older ones because the younger ones don't have good character qualities yet."
  24. Whoever the People source is sounds like a BSer anyway. Sounds like speculation to me.
  25. I was thinking the 2 accounts were to increase his chances of a hook-up because he traveled back to Arkansas regularly.
