  1. I don't actually know what a SWW fandom is but if it's about Ward, then that's probably why. Right now, it seems to me that the team is barely tolerating Deke. They are (quite pragmatically) using him for his ability to go out in public, for what he knows about the end of the world and because he inadvertently came through the monoliths because of them but otherwise he's treated like a nuisance, at best. However, I'll admit you're likely right - there's a good chance they will handwave what he's done once they find out he's related to FitzSimmons and skip the real redemption arc.
  2. I don't think you can compare Deke and Ward. I didn't like Ward and don't miss him. Deke might be redeemable, or not. We'll see where the writing goes.
  3. I'm terrible at timelines. Do we know how long Kasius was in charge or when Deke's mom died?
  4. Hah. That's a much more interesting Hope than the one I saw when I started watching. Am I assuming the 2 women I don't know are Caroline's moms? Which one is Bill's sister?
  5. AoS deserves some criticism on the diversity front - like most mainstream network shows. But focusing on Deke selling someone into slavery doesn't take into consideration that all humans in that future were basically slaves, even if it looked like there were some like Deke who were flying under the radar. Evil Overlords tend to ignore that stuff - allowing a limited amount of prohibited activity because it works to their benefit. It seems to me that Coulson and crew are treating Deke like a collaborator, more or less. There are always collaborators in any subjugated population - like African slaves who were also overseers or Jewish guards in concentration camps. It's a complicated and sensitive subject that I don't feel up to making judgments about. I'm sure Deke thought turning in Daisy so he could help the others was really the right thing to do. Maybe we would too, if we were born into that environment. I hope not but we didn't see many heroes in that future. We saw survivors, survivors who did ugly things or turned a blind eye to those who did.
  6. I don't disagree but with this show (or most soaps) you eventually get to a point where you have to go with the retcon or stop watching. Granted, it was much easier to do with Caroline off-screen and with the fact that PF/CH had such amazing chemistry. Not to mention Thomas was rehabbed quite a bit by his friendship with Sasha. I think that's where I decided to give him a chance. I've never forgotten - though I blame the writers and not the character now.
  7. @Cajungirl64 - did you get a chance to read the pinned post at the top of the forum? If you keep comments focused primarily on what was discussed on the show, you should be fine.
  8. And almost completely associated with sexual abuse, so I'd rather they didn't go there either.
  9. Hah. I was just going to mention OLTL. I personally dislike DID storylines but early on, OLTL was occasionally compelling. Later on it just became a cheap gimmick connected to some sordid retcons and shoddy storytelling. But is Liam that fragile? Just because someone is fundamentally a good person doesn't mean they are weak. In fact, it's been so nice seeing Liam stand up for himself and draw some lines against $Bill and Steffy. (Unfortunately, with Steffy he has to come to terms because of the baby.) It was nice while it lasted anyway. I'd rather see Liam with an evil doppelganger/twin. But that seems a little complicated for B&B.
  10. I completely forgot about it yesterday. So, they released all 3 episodes? I thought originally it was supposed to be 2 each week. Does that mean it didn't do as well as they expected?
  11. I just realized that I started watching almost 4 years ago now. In that time, other than recasts, the only new people have been the various Avants and Spectras 2.0 - is that about right?
  12. When TK is clean-shaven and untanned, he looks years younger. It's too bad they cast him as Ridge though. I've only seen clips of B&B when RM was Ridge and TK is a much better actor (when he wants to be) but he doesn't seem right for the part. It's also too bad that Joe Mascolo never worked with TK. I could have bought them as father/son.
  13. So I happened across this review today. It's from last month but the reviewer watched the first 6 episodes (no spoilers included) and it sounds like it's worth hanging in for them. Oddly enough, I also thought of Lilo & Stitch when watching. http://collider.com/final-space-review-tbs/
  14. True, but IMO maybe not enough? The similarities with Red Dwarf (on paper) were kind of what caught my attention but Gary is no Lister. Maybe because Lister is pragmatic and grounded even in the most surreal surroundings.
  15. Comedian Kathy Griffin is the top of the show guest. Journalist Bari Weiss is the mid-show interview. The panelists include comedian Trae Crowder, conservative blogger and radio host, Erick Erickson and Republican political commentator, Ana Navarro.
  16. I think TBS is the show's home. They probably used the other Turner channels for cross promotion? I've only seen the first episode. I meant to watch the other 2 tonight but ended up watching the Oscars instead. Anyway, I'll give it a few more before I decide. I was actually hoping for a cross between Red Dwarf and Futurama, so was disappointed in the main character. The animation style didn't bother me too much though.
  17. I thought they went a little overboard with the Zima but honestly, I don't think I've ever seen anyone enjoy their first sip of real beer, so that part rang true.
  18. I'm a little confused, enough that I watched the episode twice and still am unsure... is that really Hale's daughter? Locked up behind steel doors? Is she Inhuman? Or just trained to wield those circular things that I have no idea what they are. And the robots, did I miss where they came from? They didn't look human/LMD. I've never missed an episode but haven't rewatched earlier seasons either, so I could have. Confused or not, I'm still very glad AoS is back.
  19. Actually I was thinking more of Wasif's post-healing amnesia but that's good too. :-)
  20. Quite often I like the aerial views of LA better than the actual show. :-) B&B wouldn't feel the same to me without them. (But then I live in the Midwest, I'm easy to please that way.)
  21. Episodes 6 and 7 are up. These I actually wish had been full length episodes. I enjoyed the parallel translation scenes a lot. Also, I think we may have seen how/why Catherine has no memory of these events. That does add some tension to the mix. The actor who plays Beal reminds me a little of a young Cary Elwes.
  22. I was looking at a forum for a new show today and realized that Tika Sumpter (Layla) is part of it. Well, her voice is. :-) Never hurts to be part of a genre show, right? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Space#Cast http://www.tbs.com/shows/final-space
