  1. Shows where this sort of thing unintentionally happens are almost universally terrible and totally unrealistic, and after scene 1, I don't hold out much hope for this one either . . . .
  2. I was wondering why that particular scene. I would figure everything is intentional . . . and that particular scene didn't have a happy ending for Meredith, although she was filled with hope and anticipation.
  3. I never understood why they didn't simply have Mark take a job at another hospital in the area. He could have said he couldn't deal with all the reminders of Lexie.
  4. And also, another speech about how brilliant etc. Maggie is, this time from Richard. The audience should understand that without characters in the show having to announce it all the time.
  5. I am skeeved by the Jackson and Maggie pairing. With all the discussion here, I've been musing as to why. One particular aspect is her girlish dorky demeanor so much of the time, and then all of a sudden she goes all seductress. Happened last episode too with the 'undone' comments. This time it was really awful. Something going way, way back to 1990 but it reminds me of a scene in Dick Tracy with Warren Beatty, when the character played by Madonna brings him an ice cream cone, he asks what flavor it is, she says "fresh peach," then she adds in a silky tone, "Better eat it right away. It's starting to run a little." That line really worked. The guy I was watching the movie with gulped/gasped out loud. lol
  6. I thought there was some controversy because Patrick would have been willing to stay in a more limited role, and also because of the way Derek was rather unceremoniously killed off due to a) suddenly getting a cell phone signal, b) a giant truck barreling down the road out of nowhere and c) the debacle at the hospital. For a short time, I had considered never watching again after that episode and I took my time viewing the last ones of that season. Much of the time when people quit watching because of a beloved character's departure, however, I think it's partly due to attrition . . . the fans get to feeling worn down because there's been too much of it.
  7. Is this a stronger backlash compared with Derek getting hit by a truck? I remember there being a huge outcry, with tens of thousands of complaints on the official FB page in less than a week.
  8. This show of course reminds me of much older ones I watched sporadically years ago: Touched by an Angel, and Highway to Heaven. This one seems a tad more complex, but more similar to TBAA.
  9. That's pretty blunt. I don't think you're projecting. lol!
  10. I think with this bloated cast that they could have kept Capshaw and Drew and instead jettisoned all the interns, DeLuca (who I used to find interesting until ex-girlfriend arrived) and Italian doc. Get back to the basics. These women have been an integral part of the cast for such a long time that it seems crazy to let them go and probably bring in additional uninteresting people. As others have said, April in particular has been really interesting this season, and it's a shame to drop her character all of a sudden.
  11. I always wondered this about Mark. They said he had to be killed off because he would never leave his daughter. There were already too many fatalities by that point.
  12. It's a testament to Jason's acting ability that I had seen several episodes of this show before reading a comment about his being in Parenthood, and I had to look up the cast to see which character he had played. I used to watch that show fairly regularly. It was a *smack head* moment when I saw him in the cast photos and remembered him as Lauren's fiance.
  13. I was totally confused about why Erin was troubled about Nikki not using Reagan as her last name.
  14. Koracick is the first time I've been really interested in a new character since I can't remember when. Is Alex falling for Amelia? I think this was speculated on the forum after another episode, but it looked even more like that last night. When Jo hugged him, he didn't even take his hands out of his pockets.
  15. I have only watched this show sporadically over the years so am unfamiliar with this aspect. Randy Weaver was acquitted in court and the feds had to pay him some $3 million for the FBI's actions, so what is the discrepancy that constitutes a conspiracy theory?
  16. I had just about decided never to watch this show again for the reasons you state there. But I'm glad I changed my mind and decided to watch this one.
  17. What's the deal with the mail carrier just dropping off a certified letter with anybody who happens to be there, no signature or anything?
  18. I heard Casper as well, but he couldn't have gone to med school there, so he still had to live somewhere else during that time.
  19. I didn't feel comfortable about that decision at all, but I was thinking maybe (like she said a bit later) she just felt so tired.
  20. I did really like his response to Maggie, though, when she said something like, "You're in the women's restroom," and he just went, "So?" Classic Alex. I was confused why she wouldn't allow them to operate. I understood she chose a DNR, but I didn't get her refusal to go for the chance to spend two months with her baby.
  21. I couldn't agree more. Ugh. It was totally inauthentic to me that these two would suddenly become so overcome with lust.
  22. The cast is so oversized that it took me a good minute to remember who Dr. Murphy is.
  23. And I thought to myself, she's comparing her mother to a tumor?
