The last time I was this annoyed by a romantic pairing was Callie and Penny because the character of Penny was so dull. Yet Kai makes Penny look like Ms. Big Personality.

To me, this is totally bizarre. I don't experience any chemistry between Amelia and Kai, much less super hot chemistry.

I would have thought for a season finale, the showrunners would want an entertaining episode that viewers would talk about afterward and look forward to the next season. Instead, this one started out strong and then totally fizzled. It would have been good for the season finale to have five regular sharks instead of a guest. Also, how many vegan businesses can there be on this show? It's a tiny percentage of the population.

I was thinking along the same lines. I use a travel mug and a dish.

Having been in college in the '70s, I have a fair bit of experience. I don't understand how Richard could have blithely been going along without realizing he was high. I guess we have no idea if he ever intentionally used weed, but it certainly doesn't feel normal. I'd think he'd either be concerned he was ill, or he'd quickly realize that Catherine's drink was an intoxicating substance. The unintentional getting high story they did with the group eating snacks also rang untrue to me for the most part. The only person who realistically acted stoned was Alex, and I figured Alex had experience and knew what happened and was enjoying the heck out of it.

When I was a kid in the 1960s growing up in an area with lots of vacant lots (dirt, rocks, weeds), I used to put on my snow boots all months of the year and go outside and pretend I was Will Robinson on some dry, barren planet. Not because I necessarily wanted to be a boy or thought I was a boy, but because Will Robinson got all the best activity in Lost In Space. That's what I think of when I see Leo.

Lori made another golden ticket deal without the fanfare. We just saw her make one of those deals a short time ago and she made a speech, with some of the guys kind of rolling their eyes.

I thought the same thing. It's not like it's a quick drive to the hospital or wherever Rose lives. How long would this take him to get there, talk with her, and come back?

Derek could be a total jerk, but I miss him anyway. And I miss Cristina, and the Meredith-Cristina friendship.

Showing that two-part episode seemed really random. Does anybody have any idea why they chose that? I really miss Derek, Mark and Callie.

I wondered about this too. I haven't used an aluminum-based deodorant in decades.

I was really confused by this and why all of a sudden two sharks who had gone out were intent on getting a deal. I wondered if I had missed something. I texted a friend who normally watches the show to ask, but alas, he was watching basketball.

Can I say something that's sort of politically incorrect? I'm old, but I'm extremely socially liberal. Nevertheless, I find non-binary and trans issues and individuals difficult to understand. This show acts as though every viewer totally gets it. A lot of people aren't even aware of the pronoun concept yet. If Grey's would focus more on this (without the typical exposition), this would be a stronger storyline. They did this well with Callie and Erica, I think. Erica was excited because she finally realized she's gay. Callie, though, was very confused at first. There was discussion. I agree with you about Kai's personality. I have no idea what Amelia sees in them.

In the last episode, there was a snowstorm and Meredith couldn't get home for Thanksgiving. And now it's summer.

There also was plenty of commentary about De Luca kind of resembling Derek.

I loved the edible utensils idea. It fits beautifully since an ice cream cone serves as a dish. And soup sometimes is served inside of bread. I would love to get edible chopsticks with takeout if they hold up long enough.

I wish Linc would relax and be patient with Amelia. One of my girlfriends had a lousy marriage and got divorced, and no longer had any interest in marriage. She started dating a confirmed bachelor who fell madly in love with her and asked her to marry him. She essentially asked him if he was nuts because he knew she had no interest in getting married and had chosen him as a boyfriend partly because he shared the same disinterest. So he was like, OK, and they happily continued on for many months with no further discussion about the subject until one day she told him, "Yes, I'll marry you." He gave her time to get past her wariness. That would make a much more romantic story than this conflict is.

That's a really good point.

Did anyone figure out where Helm is sleeping? Jo has the bed and Levi has the couch, what does that leave?

With her having to know how Jackson and April got together, I'd think Maggie definitely would not want that question in the wedding!

I am seriously annoyed that I only know what's going on with Ben because I saw the previews for the next Station 19 show before Grey's started.

Does anyone know why they are showing two episodes from season 2 tomorrow?

I really liked this episode, personally. I tend to like the bottle episodes (not all, but most) because of their concentrated focus on a few people instead of the bloated cast. As others have said, Sarah Drew slipped right back into character as April as though she had never left. That continuous nervous chatter as soon as Jackson arrived was totally in character. I like it that Jackson and April had this long talk after all of this time. It felt like some closure happened there. Those two have noteworthy chemistry, which makes them enjoyable for me to watch. This, to me, is how the show should have managed some of the other departures instead of killing people off so we can't see them again except in hallucinations or the afterlife. Move them off screen. There was speculation that the showrunners didn't kill off April because they didn't want to alienate fans. It worked very well to have her still living in Seattle.

I think they set up the beach scenes well in the sense that those scenes work for any belief system. I choose to believe the beach is a place in the afterlife, or a meeting place between the afterlife and here. I chose to believe the scene including Richard and Bailey happened because Meredith was aware they are at the hospital caring for her and they are her people. She was connecting with them briefly. They also were trying to reach her subconsciousness and succeeding to an extent. Others can easily believe these are hallucinations.

The beach scenes have been my favorite part of this entire season. I can see that I'm in the minority here. One nit-picky thing . . . Derek called his sister Amelia instead of Amy. That bounced me out of the mood for a moment because I knew the writers had to do this for viewers not entirely familiar with seasons that far back.
