  1. She did mention Skaneateles. Which is not a day trip to NYC. Well I guess it could be a really long day. Google says its a 4.5 hour drive. Here's how this episode SHOULD have gone: Lots of cases connected to the Bridal Expo (great theme for wacky cases). A couple who are upset because one of them has to leave the country before they can have the big dream wedding they wanted. Abby offering to do it right there in the courthouse (forget wedding licenses and waiting periods, this is tv). Father of Bride just barely makes it. Cue tears. Then the scene where Abby explains she realizes her dad won't be at her wedding. Scene with Dan. Abby goes and performs the wedding. Still JUST as funny without the stupid stripper and penis gavel/olivia gurgs fighting over being maid of honor and is about NIGHT COURT not everything that went on outside of court.
  2. 1 - Vincent Price had an amazing sense of humor. He was also a lovely, gentle man. 2 -- He laughed all the way to bank each and every time.
  3. I got a little misty eyed when Greef said "You may not have a home planet anymore but you will always have a home." Bo is gonna unite the Mandalorians. Which is good because creepy spy chick lady is plotting. Although really just popping in to the colonel's office and no one suspects a thing? The New Republic is clueless. Princess Leia is so disappointed in ya'all.
  4. Neil can leave any time. The pining over Abby is just cringe. Olivia and Gurgs never once stopped to think - hey wait a minute, she's known us for all of 10 minutes, she MIGHT have a childhood friend she would rather have as her maid of honor? Speaking of Gurgs -- they were doing wedding planning NOT having the bachelorette party. She was being HIGHLY inappropriate with the penis gavel and the strippers. It wasn't even funny. (also as an aside, Abby giving legal advice to ANYONE is a huge no no for a judge). I like Gurgs better when she is showing off knowledge of the courthouse. The only good part of this was when Abby realized how much she misses her dad. Although if they came in to the city when Abby was off school, she is NOT from upstate. She's from Westchester county which is RIGHT THE HELL NEXT TO NYC. That is NOT upstate. Upstate is Albany and above. Real estate is too far for day trips to NYC. Speaking of, why would she get married in NYC. She JUST moved there. It would make more sense to have it in her hometown. Plus if they already started wedding planining, but stopped when her dad died, they HAD A VENUE picked out. Apparently in the show Harry just died, instead of 5 years ago. but there were funny moments. That was awesome. Although it wasn't great, having the line up of wedding dresses and then having them do the chicken dance was amusing.
  5. All that crappy craft stuff in the house and they can't even make a decent sign. White poster board is 50 cents at the dollar (25) store and sticker letters are $1.25 a page*. I know this because I have a friend running a 15K this weekend and I made sign for when I stand there all fat and happy as she runs by.
  6. They didn't. He was there for permitting or something and walked right by her chambers. Which yeah great security, chambers on a public hallway. All the courthouses I have been in chambers are behind the courtrooms behind locked doors so judges don't have to go through the public hallways and the public can't just wander in to chambers. True story -- the family law magistrates in my main courthouse used to be in a big open suite. The main door could be locked but once you were in the suite, everything was open. They renovated the courthouse and put the magistrates behind a locked door that you had to be buzzed in. The JOKES that ensued that it was because of me were numerous (they were jokes, I was always respectful of the magistrates and treated staff well, I need made demands or was difficult).

Dang gummit. The Maryland Court of Appeals REINSTATED his conviction. The family did not have enough notice to meaningfully participate in the hearing. Even though there is no absolute right to be heard. So the Court ordered a NEW hearing that the family can personally attend (not zoom) to go over everything again. And have the same outcome. Fortunately, Adnan will not be going back to prison while this plays out.
  8. Linda Greenlaw will be cool. The "Bob" Nielsen is the replacement for the Harris Brothers. "Trying to make the old man proud" is going to be heard often I'll bet. Just ugh. Which is kinda unfair, she might be a nice young lady. The guy who wants to bump Harley is just FINE BY ME. Go right ahead. But honestly it sounds like they are trying too hard to come up with storylines when the storyline especially this season is What do you do when the major moneymaking fisheries are closed?
  9. At the rate kids are marrying off and leaving "the group" she won't need an RV for her grift tours soon. It will just be her and DBD driving from small church to small church forlornly begging instead of getting jobs. I just realized they are getting a big long in the tooth to be hireable. So all they are going to have to count on in old age is social security. Since DBD worked for a 10 minutes, I doubt it will be very much. Even their "ministry" contributions are probably minimal. Enjoy old age when whatever kid you are grifting off, dumps you in a tiny room and expects you to watch the grandkids while the kid and spouse go off for "date night."
  10. I got an idea Jill. Get a J.O.B. And not selling plexus. Or if you really cannot work, get your lazy hunk to stop watching the map and support his kids instead of expecting the rest of us to. I
  11. Maybe. Maybe they said, we can't live in this madhouse any longer, we are leaving. Maybe Pa put his foot down after Ma was trotting out as a prop at the retreat.
  12. What relationship wounds? Some "sweet friend" isn't giving her freebies anymore? She says Satan, I'm thinking God is dropping a BIG OLD anvil on her head to stop grifting and get a real job.
  13. He might not have ongoing medical care. He might have reached maximum medical recovery or what it is. So its more living with the injuries. And he was 70 at the time, so they take into account life expectancy. There is no lost earning potential because he was already retired. They also have to take into account he was already blind in one eye and deaf so how much is his CURRENT condition attributable to the accident and how much is just continuing issues with previous condition. Medical bills would be those also covered by insurance because the insurance company wants reimbursement if you recover. Also I will let you in a little secret (plaintiff's personal injury paralegal for MANY years before becoming a lawyer). There is no magic formula for figuring out how much you sue for. One rule of thumb I used and my bosses agreed was as good as any was 3 times actual. So what did this actuall cost you -- medical, lost wages, property damage x 3. This does not include pain and suffering because pain and suffering is not an actual quantifable damage that you pay a bill for. So I broke it down this way 1/3 actual damages 1/3 pain and suffering and 1/3 attorney's fees. That gave some wiggle room to settle. This guy was going for the cash grab. When Gywneth didn't settle for just nuisance value and actually decided to fight it because HE HIT HER, he lowered it hoping to get at least something out of it. She just wants her attorney's fees paid because she had to go hire an attorney and deal with it. (maybe the insurance company is paying for the attorney maybe not). the only thing I don't like is putting her son on the stand. This kid doesn't need to go through this. Of course he is going to back up his mom's version of events. But the plaintiffs' counsel is going to try to trip him up. Which he does not need that pressure. I would have called the ski instructors rather than my own kid. If Moses were an adult my calculation would be different but he is still a minor.
  14. I don't even think its that. It's just she is still recovering from her stroke/aneurysm. Forcing her out at hectic events could overwhelm her. The wedding was bad enough, but okay its a grand daughter's wedding. But there is no reason on God's Green Earth that Mom has to be Jill's Women's Retreat other than Jill wants her to be there for the attention Jill will get for being so selfless in caring for her poor ill mother.
  15. Gywneth testified yesterday. I watched it. Her attorney is still terrible, but she did well on the stand. She might be goopy but she testified well. Her explanation of the accident makes sense to me. She was skiing, all of sudden someone hit her from behind and was making strange grunting noises. ONE of the possibilities that went through her mind was is this a sexual assault. Which yes, you can be sexually assaulted in public with tons of clothes on. This is a pretty high profile actress, she has probably been accosted in public before and probably does not enjoy it. His skis went through hers forcing her legs apart. They veered to the right and then fell over. So it is possible that she fell on top of him AS they fell. But he hit her first. That's when the injuries occurred, from the fall, not the hit. HE claims he was unconscious for 5 or 10 minutes. SHE says, he was talking to the ski instructor who was RIGHT THERE almost immediately after. He said he was okay. BTW, he hasn't testified yet. He also was excused from the courtroom while all his witnesses were testifying because it's too ... upsetting for him. Except when Gwyneth testified which was the time guaranteed of maximum coverage. I have NEVER heard of that in a civil trial. It's your damn case, you have to be there. He testifies on Monday. There is missing gopro video. Which STRONGLY hints at it being hidden or destroyed. Which is a HUGE deal in civil cases. The daughter says she clicked the link in the email that allegedly contained the video but conveniently does not remember seeing it. Also there are emails were the plaintiff is all "I'm gonna be famous." One of the daughters testified that one of her answers in her deposition was WRONG but her dad's lawyers told her not change it because it would look bad. Unfortunately, Gwyneth's stupid lawyer failed to follow up on that. Because like the missing go pro video that is HUGE. You can make corrections to your depo like a name is misspelled. But this was a change in the answer itself. So which is right? Can this person's testimony be considered accurate. Also the daughters were NOT there that day. All they know is what their dad told them. TLDR: I think Gwyneth is fighting this because SHE DID NOT HIT HIM. Right now, she seems the more credible party.
  16. You weren't the only one saying that. She also said in the same interview that she just hopes she has the energy to walk a little. Hey I got an idea, if you ATE a meal you might have energy. She needs help, instead of listening to her own goop all the time.
  17. Don't forget Jill is getting her parents' social security now too. I hope the parents move home soon and get out of the chaos of Jill's house. It will be better for Ma and her rehab and definitely better financially for both them.
  18. This sums it up perfectly. Both can be true. The parents could have handled it better and got some real help. But it is also well within the realm of possibility that no matter what they did, we would still be here today with this exact same situation. Josh is who he is. But, Head Boob and Checked Out could DEFINITELY have done more for their own daughters. Having a locking door (even one they controlled) was not enough. The sleeping in their clothes thing clearly was not a solution since the first incident was OVER CLOTHES. It's the victim blaming that definitely made this worse. Those girls you know were told that they TEMPTED their brother. Matched with the "it happens in most families" attitude from Gothard to cover his own sick behavior was NOT HEALTHY for the VICTIMS.
  19. Every kid got maybe half a scoop -- after DBD dipped up first of course. Everytime she tries to convince us she is a caring mother and homemaker, she fails miserably.
  20. Jill's been reading here again where we complain about her not cooking/feeding her kids. Wanna bet we get a video of one of the little one's digging in to a huge plate of food (that will be removed as soon as the video is done). Hey Jill, if you are reading this, get Ma some REAL therapy instead of forcing her to do stuff.
  21. Yes she looks just as gaunt even made up for trial. I watched opening statements on Emily D. Baker's stream. Her attorney is terrible. If you get SUSTAINED objections during your opening, you suck. All I could think was all her money and the best she could get was this ding dong? Rumor hath she will be testifying Friday.
  22. That was a lot. I don't think Kathy Schroeder ever stopped believing David Koresh was the Messiah. A messiah who conveniently believes he's the only who gets to have sex. Funny how that always works that way in these cults. I literally cannot imagine subjecting my children to that. But then again I don't understand fundies either. Timothy McVeigh was actually AT Waco selling stuff? Among the incredibly dumb things the Feds did was to immediately arrest Schroeder when she came out. The negotiators were right, no one would come out then if they knew they would be arrested. You take her someplace for "rest and rehab" or whatever and THEN arrest her when its all over. But then the negotiators really weren't being listened to. The guy builds a rapport over a weeks and then they say "oh yeah, gotta make that middle east trip, BYE." It was definitely to get him out of the way, but again, really destroyed the chances of getting people out alive. "We are putting CS in the building but this is not an assault." The fork its not. Deploying tear gas is an assault. The sniper guy was just too much. Sure he's upset on camera but that pic of him posing with his gun in the ashes says it all. He wanted to be GI Joe and save everyone. But the whole hostage rescue team's desire to play with big toys and make things go bang made it SO MUCH worse. Thibodeau is a freaking liar but he's right -- you think these people are mentally unstable so you make it WORSE? Just a hot mess. And no Janet Reno seeing David Koresh playing with the kids would not have changed her mind. Anyone remember Elian Gonzalez and the SWAT Raid to go get him? She would have justified it as "we don't know what he's doing with the kids in there so we need to go get them." I was living in Corpus Christi when this all happened. We watched the fire on tv in the office. The newspapers said the lady who was asked "where's the guy" didn't just stare down the FBI guy, she turned around and went back in the burning building. Again i do not understand people like that.
  23. Did not realize they were Zip Codes. Now that is a cute touch. How to tell someone is from New York - they can pronounce Skaneateles correctly.
