  1. I just finished binging this show on Netflix and I can't WAIT for the new season to start! I'm curious what it will be like watching one episode a week instead of all of it at once.
  2. Is that Bellamy?? I didn't even recognize him.
  3. Great news! I didn't even realize they were filming already. I thought Eric McCormack was busy with Will & Grace, so this is very welcome news!
  4. Loved it! I like that each of the triplets have their own personality. I already feel like I know a little bit about each of them, which was a pleasant surprise. And David Tenant is PERFECT as Scrooge! I can't wait for more!
  5. Pretty sure Khlyen must've cut out Aneela's memories after he discovered Dutch. Otherwise those memories wouldn't have been available for Dutch to view. Plus I think Khlyen was trying to protect both Aneela and Dutch by cutting out the memories from Aneela so that "she" wouldn't know about Aneela's abilities or the existence of Dutch.
  6. I actually ended up switching back to the native Portuguese (right?) with English subtitles. It became MUCH more watchable after that! The voice-overs for many of the characters just didn't line up to me with tone, especially Michelle and Rafael. I felt I could follow the show much better with the subtitles instead because I wasn't so distracted by the English dubbing.
  7. Gahh, not going to lie, that made me tear up. Thanks for sharing!
  8. Jeez, it's not even over and they' already are trying to figure out how to reboot it??
  9. Wow, that teaser makes it look pretty cool!
  10. This news is kind of a bummer. With the way season 4 ended, it really would've worked well as a series finale, so I'm worried that season 5 is going to be disappointing. At least they know well ahead of time so hopefully they can end it well.
  11. It's one thing to redesign the Klingons after 20 years and only one (3 year) show and quite another thing to redesign them after 10 years and FOUR shows (spanning 18 years) where they've looked consistent for almost 20 years AND explained why the Klingons of the original series look different. Changing them just to change them when they've been a certain way for decades is just stupid. But look, I think we all get that you don't mind all the changes Discovery is making. Clearly other people DO mind. Let's just agree to disagree.
  12. So they redesigned Klingons just because they felt like it? Awesome.
  13. That's encouraging. Curious how they'll explain all these differences if they really are trying to stay true to canon.
  14. Especially when the creators have said that Discovery is supposed to take place in Prime universe (TOS, TNG, etc) and NOT in Abrams universe (new movies), it doesn't make sense for the Klingons to look like they are from Abrams Star Trek and nothing like normal Klingons. If they wanted to just use stuff from the movies, then just say that this takes place in the Abrams universe, that this series is part of the rebooted series, and has nothing to do with original Star Trek! Then we wouldn't complain about the differences because we'd know it's a complete reboot and not trying to stick to canon at all.
  15. This is devastating to me. Once of the things that made Star Trek so special was the fact that the crew actually works TOGETHER and seem to respect one another. This sounds like a similar change to what the Stargate series did. Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis had strong teams that worked together with minimal conflict among each other. Then comes Stargate Universe and all it was was everyone fighting. It was HORRIBLE. There's a reason that show only got two seasons, compared to the 10 and 5 seasons the other two series got! Changing a core aspect of a series (or universe?) that is beloved is not the thing to do. Just don't call it Star Trek and continue what you're doing. These people obviously hate Star Trek and don't care about it at all. Using the Star Trek name because they think they can just get Star Trek fans for free is insulting.
  16. I agree - they should've either made this post-Voyager or admitted it's in the movie universe (which is what it looks like anyway).
  17. If people complained about all those other things, why are you confused people are complaining about Discovery? I'm not sure what you mean by "none of it mattered in the end" though. I was too young to know about any of the complaints regarding TNG, DS9, and VOY, but I was old enough for the complaints about ENT was a prequel, and I actually DO think it being a prequel hurt it. I think it's lame that Discovery is another prequel as well (especially one that doesn't seem like it's going to line up between ENT and TOS at all).
  18. It's not JUST about the uniforms. It's about EVERYTHING that they've changed, for no apparent reason as far as we know. Why do the Klingons look nothing like normal Klingons or TOS Klingons (who's appearances are explained during ENT)? Why do the uniforms look nothing like the TOS uniforms (which takes place only TEN YEARS after the start of this series)? Why is the coloring on the uniforms completely different from anything in EVERY OTHER Star Trek series and movie? Why does the technology look so much more advanced than TOS technology? Obviously it's going to look different because it's 2017, but it look RADICALLY different. ENT didn't make their technology radically different. And WHY is it airing on CBS All Access? They don't have enough respect for Star Trek fans to air this on CBS? They want to EXPLOIT Star Trek fans by forcing us to pay for a service we don't even want in order to watch the one show we do? AND it'll air in weekly increments with a nice break in between to force us to pay for months at a time? It just looks and feels like they were trying to make their own sci-fi show, while stealing the stuff like they life from Star Trek and discarding what they didn't, even if it makes no sense. And then they figured they could slap on the "Star Trek" title and all the Star Trek fans would just flock to it, even though it looks and feels nothing like Star Trek. Obviously I'm going to give the show a shot and I'll judge it on it's own merit, but everything I've seen so far has been a huge turnoff.
  19. I feel like I hate everything we've learned about this series. Why do the uniforms look like this? If this series took place shortly after ENT, then maybe I could understand it, since the blue uniforms do look similar to ENT's. But what's with the coloring?? Every single series from ENT through DS9, Voyager, and the TNG movies had uniform colors depicting position and used red, blue, and yellow (or a slight variation of those). Now suddenly IN BETWEEN ENT and TOS, they are using some sort of gold, silver, bronze coloring scheme?? I just wish the creators of this just admitted this has nothing to do with Star Trek, isn't supposed to be Star Trek, and just did their own thing without pretending this was Star Trek. That FOX show Orville looks more like Star Trek than this!
  20. This episode really bothered me. I don't understand how Hannah could have witnessed what happened to Jessica, not done anything about it (either during or after), and then dedicated her SECOND TAPE to blaming Jessica for her death! Yes, Jessica was a shitty friend and did some shitty things to Hannah in the beginning, but what she was did was NOTHING compared to what happened to Jessica (partly because of Hannah's own inaction).
  21. Just discovered this show and finished season one! Soooo good! I felt so bad for Fernado and Joana though. Fernado was betrayed by his own test that he came up with, but he was never dedicated to the Process, so I don't really blame the testers for testing him again. He should've known better though. And Joana, I didn't totally understand WHY she was eliminated. Why did she have to murder that guy to earn her spot on the Offshore?? Why did Ezequial get so mad at her when she wouldn't do it? Does the Offshore really want people who can so easily murder someone? Wasn't that the whole reason Aline was observing Ezequial? Because there had been a murder on the Offshore and they wanted to know how someone like that could've made it through the Process? Count me confused! But I can't wait for season two!
  22. This is old, but worth sharing. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/netflixs-travelers-adds-season-two-cast-991024 Love Enrico Colantoni so I'm excited about this!
