  1. Erika's sexuality is performative. It's all "here's my kitty, my titties, and my ass. I'll give you sexy baby if you give me all your cash." It's rolling around half-naked while moaning, but it's so obviously fake because Erika is uptight as shit, has no sense of humor, and has one of the most jaded 100 yard stripper stare that I've ever seen. Erika would never drop her veneer long enough to fuck a rando during the cast trip or participate in one of Sonja's drunken make-outs. Luann enjoys sex. You can tell and it comes through. It's part of the reason that Luann's Countess shtick comes across as fake and contrived. The real Luann loves a party and her men.
  2. It's been abundantly clear that the only woman being uplifted in Bethenny's world and television offerings is Bethenny. She's announced: 1. Bethenny Frankel presents A Bethenny Frankel Joint: "Big Shot with Bethenny" A Cheater Brand Production--a show that sounds like The Apprentice, but sometimes she'll ask recruits to buy her tampons or walk and pick up after her dogs, so somehow less professional than The Apprentice; and 2. Judge Foodie where Bethenny gets to stand in judgement of everyone else's food issues and no one gets to tell her to shaddup! I've also heard that there's an 8 episode limited time series that chronicles Bethenny's life since leaving RHONY, which sounds like HBO greenlit Bethenny Starting Over or Bethenny On Her Own. Bravo refused to give Bethenny those shows because they knew she NEEDS people to play off of to make her bearable. Casamigos is $100 million for the tequila and $900 million for George Clooney, Rande Gerber, Cindy Crawford, and their celebrity friends to promote the brand for the next 30 years. Aviation Gin is a tiny bit different because the brand has been around for a decent amount of time. Much like Skinnygirl, it was actually at the forefront of a movement in the spirits business. There has been a movement about Western gin or gins that's aren't as juniper forward as a traditional gin. There's also a movement about botanicals and infusions. It's a big enough trend that there are some vodka products on the market that are essentially a gin, but lacking juniper and some of the more typical anise flavors often found in gin. I'm sure Ryan Reynolds becoming a minority owner and getting involved in the marketing increased the value of the brand, but someone was bound to pay a decent chunk of money to purchase Aviation.
  3. Bugsy has actually won awards at yacht shows for her tablescapes. I think it's just easier to realize that there's a certain segment of the yachting industry that likes those tacky Sandra Lee-esque tablescapes because it's an easy way to communicate with guests that you're doing something above and beyond what the guests would normally expect. If the tables have lovely tasteful flower arrangements, the guests don't know if you did that or the florist did. The weird craftiness of communicates that the stews made it and should be rewarded for their efforts.
  4. Luann isn't an RN. Luann was an LPN. She attended a one year training course at her high school. RHONY is the franchise with the highest percentage of the cast with formal education. The cast members without 4 year college degrees when they were on the show are Alex, Luann, Kristen Taekman, Leah, and maybe Elyse. Alex now has a college degree.
  5. They do, but the timing of this makes it seem like a more typical firing. Carole filmed the reunion and announced she was leaving immediately afterwards. They film those reunions for 12+ hours; no producer is really in the right frame to declare that evening that Carole had to go. It's not totally clear that Carole quit, but it's more likely than not that she did. Heather had been hinting about quitting before before they taped the reunion and ratcheted it up after they filmed the reunion. She announced her departure right after the reunion aired. I think she also quit. I think Dorinda was given an ultimatum that she had to go to therapy and/or rehab and it had to be part of her storyline next season. I think Dorinda quit rather than officially admit that she has an alcohol problem, problems with other substances, and other behavioral health issues. Dorinda kept harping on the difference between Lu's drinking and her own. Getting arrested is this clear boundary line for Dorinda. Officially announcing her problems is just something she doesn't want to ever do. From the moment Lu was arrested, viewers have consistently said that they didn't think Luann was alcoholic, but that Dorinda, Sonja, and Tinsley might actually be. When Dorinda saw this she stopped drinking for a time, got a personal trainer, and tried to act as if quitting alcohol was just part of her new fitness routine. She'll never admit her substance problems. The end of August is around when they'd normally begin early contract negotiations and preproduction. They might have told her that she needed to be in rehab for 28 days, they didn't want to lose her for principal photography, and this meant she had to go to rehab in the next month or so. Dorinda probably flipped out and quit.
  6. I've called Sandy "The Danny" of seasons 2 - 5. Danny said all of the right things about providing the guests with an enjoyable experience, but you'll notice how much mugging and muscling he did for camera time and how important it was for him to be present when the guests were enjoying themselves. It was all about his ego and narcissism. The best example is when he got himself confined to quarters and still managed to smuggle his poem/note to one of the Tilted Kilt girls. The note framed his absence like he was being punished for caring too much about the guests' enjoyment. The note sent the entire charter into a tailspin as they tried to plead with Bryan and the captain to stop punishing Danny. Their last night was just sabotaged by Danny's narcissism. This is Sandy to a tee. In what universe does denigrating the chef's food in front of the guests, lurking, and badgering guests with leading questions that can only lead to complaints result in the guests having an enjoyable experience? Sandy does all of this to be seen and remind people that she's in charge. Letting Jen Berman walk around in her high heels and dirtying up the interior was all about Sandy's ego. Dragging the guests back from their sunset cave cruise was all about Sandy's ego. She may think she's diligent and concerned about the guests, but she's routinely done the exact opposite of what she's said.
  7. Like Sandy gives a shit about prevention or trust. We've already discussed why a captain who actually gave a shit would have let Travis go after smelling alcohol on him. Travis was likely still drunk from the night before. He got a hug. Hannah has an anxiety disorder that Sandy knows about and a valid prescription, but Hannah gets fired because an anxiety disorder makes Hannah less trustworthy. And yeah, Sandy has made a ton of excuses for Travis' abuse of "just alcohol." She clearly is a twit who doesn't know or understand the number of deaths due to "just alcohol."
  8. Gah!!! You're right! It would have been sitting there in the black water tank. Fuck Sandy!
  9. It's also interesting because Adrienne did an AMA yesterday. Questions about the disclosure obviously came up. Adrienne discussed that everyone has a medical evaluation by a physician before they step on the boat. You are expected to disclose the medications you're taking. If the physician thinks you're unfit, he or she would say so. This evaluation is communicated with the producers and the captain, which makes sense. I believe some other former cast member recently mentioned the medical evaluation too. So it's entirely possible Sandy had the disclosure, but decided to be hyper-technical because she wanted Hannah gone. Furthermore, it couldn't be discussed openly because it breaks the 4th wall. If true, this makes Sandy and Malia's actions even more egregious and despicable.
  10. Stacey's ex-husband is a retired professional soccer player so it's fairly easy to find pictures of him back in the day and even fairly recently. He lives in Middletown so I've always assumed they had shared custody of the boys. Whereas Darcey's aspiring rapper ex-husband had primary physical custody of the girls and lived in upstate New York. He dropped the rap and became a real estate agent and opened a B&B.
  11. One of the deep hypocrisies of this is that Adderall is actually illegal in some foreign countries including some EU countries that may have been featured on Below Deck Med. In some of those countries, you can bring Adderall in its original packaging, as we saw with Hannah's medications. But if you run out of your Adderall, you're sol. Trying to ship a refill might result in arrests and fines for trafficking if caught. Maybe if Sandy had approached the need to register the medication with those points being key, she might have been able to salvage some of this debacle. However, her pontificating that Hannah's anxiety disorder and the treatment of said disorder with medication made Hannah categorically unfit is stupid, wrong, and all around disgusting. And if this is the hard fucking line she wants to pretend is the standard, I can point out a number of situations where she has repeatedly let crew violate that starting from season 4 when Travis still reeked of alcohol while on duty, likely because he was still drunk. Sandy wants to be hardline--Travis shouldn't have been on duty and should have been fired. In season 3, Kasey had fairly severe seasickness. She was given Dramamine and Scopolamine patches. Both can cause drowsiness and dizziness and Kasey was on those for more than a real week, not a fake tv charter week which only lasts 3 days. Kasey shouldn't have even been on the ship let alone attempting and failing to do her job as long as she was allowed to. Sandy needs to be consistent if she's going to try to pretend that Hannah's condition made her unsafe to be on the ship. If that's true, why wouldn't Sandy automatically boot any crew member who caught a virus. Sandy doesn't know how long it might last. Confining that person to their cabin hardly seems like enough. Sandy doesn't know how long the illness might last, if it might spread to other crew, or if some crisis might arise where they truly need all hands on deck, but they have one sick crewmember. It's better to just to boot the person immediately. I'm being hyperbolic. But if Sandy is trying to play the parade of horribles/what ifs game with Hannah, I'll play it right back in situations where she actually let seriously impaired people stay. Sandy acting like she's Vasco de Gama. Sandy de Yawn-a. I claim this position in the name of hypocrisy.
  12. And more importantly, Nolan--a mid 40s police rookie, former contractor from central Pennsylvania who knew almost no one when he moved out to LA. There has been a laser focus on Nolan from the beginning for fear that his body would give out from the rigors of the job, that he was just too old a dog to learn new tricks, that the change in environment and experience would be too much, or a combination of the previous 3 would cause Nolan to wash out. A smart criminal would never bet on Nolan because Nolan is such a risky high profile gamble who might never actually make it through his training period successfully. A 25 year old from central Pennsylvania? A much better bet. A mid 40s person who had recently retired from the military and was transitioning to the police? Also a much better bet. John Nolan? Bribing John Nolan is the gamble that a criminal kingpin who loves an underdog story makes. Said criminal kingpin would still also bribe rookies who had a much better chance of making it to a real police career.
  13. Did anyone else notice Eureka misspell "here" when she wrote it on the chalkboard. "We're hear." Gurl. It's only the name of your damn show. Other than that, I loved the episode especially Grandpa Larry.
  14. Gigi should have had to lsfyl. She was straight up terrible during the maxi challenge and she botched the runway. The theme was stars and stripes and Gigi dressed like a sexy British soldier. She looked great, but it didn't come across as all that creative and didn't fulfill the runway brief.
  15. I'm guessing it's the latter because the premiere was posted on YouTube. There are a handful of comments saying that the mom doing drag was more of her same old hollow, manipulative, and attention seeking antics.
  16. Yep. Common law marriage in California was abolished in 1895. Michelle's lawsuit coined and established the concept of "palimony." While it's similar to the idea of common law marriage, palimony is a contract issue and there has to be evidence of an agreement between the unmarried partners. Michelle was actually unsuccessful.
  17. They film 2 episodes a week. So Widow injured herself 2 and a half weeks ago; that's not a huge amount of time. It takes 2 - 3 weeks to heal from a sprain. Unless Brita has x-ray eyes, she just needed to shut it. That's unless Brita uses the sounds generated by her humongous mouth to do echo imaging. "I'm one of the top performers in New York and Widow your knee is healing nicely."
  18. I think putting her kids on the title might have been the only way for Luann to settle the trust lawsuit. I think she co-owns it with the kids. It's possible the kids might allow minimal filming at the house, but might object to filmed overnight shoots with some of the women staying over, especially after Ramona trashed Dorinda's house trying to turn off the temporary lights in one of the rooms. John also owns house in Queens, which is where Dorinda stores her car. I think a lot of Dorinda's digs about John are not so subtly about class. She's doing work on her Stanford White house in the Berkshires while John probably owns a $2 million fairly recently built home in Queens. Even if he knows people who could do the work, I think she's kind of suggesting that he doesn't know the kind of people who could do period specific work.
  19. She said that she needed someone who was going to try to stop her. Dolores was pretty callous in her treatment and attitudes towards other hosts. She was willing to alter Teddy against his consent. It's only because his core character pushed back against what she did to him that he killed himself. She was willing to destroy the Forge rather than allow other hosts to have a human-free life of their own choosing. She's also willing to kill hosts (awake and not awake) to get what she wants. I think the slightly empathetic part of Dolores recognizes that she needs someone who will try to stop her from going too far. The irony of Sato-Dolores accusing Maeve of abandoning the other hosts is that's exactly what Dolores actually did. Whereas Maeve immediately tried to escape with Hector. When she realized he wasn't awake, she tried to find the Forge. When she realized something was off, she helped simulation-Sizemore wake up. There is probably some element of this too. I wasn't as certain as you, but given that Teddy killed himself and Peter Abernathy and Clementine's programming were corrupted messes, that didn't leave too many allies for Dolores to bring with her. Additionally, Halores and Dolores both really seemed and sounded like Dolores in previous episodes. I was leaning in the direction that they were all Dolores, but I wasn't exactly certain. Because she couldn't honey-pot Liam any longer AND a host body doesn't operate like a human's does so things like the protein-marker authorization wouldn't work in a host. The ambulance ride was the hint; she has no blood cells. Who knows how atypical her cells and organs are?
  20. In hindsight, it's clear how big Luann's money problems really were/are and how much that drove her decision-making. She got half the Bridgehampton house and child support from Alexandre in the divorce. The other half of the Bridgehampton house was for the kids' trust fund. She sold the Bridgehampton house for $8 million and bought the Sag Harbor house for $2.65 million. There's a solid $3 million missing even when you account for taxes and fees. We know she used to spend much of her week with Jacques and come home to the Hamptons on the weekend and Jacques paid for much of their traveling. Tom paid to remodel the kitchen of the Sag Harbor house. It also seemed like Tom paid for them to travel. The fact that the trust fund dispute couldn't immediately be resolved without a lawsuit suggests that a lot of Luann's desperation has to do with money. She might have been spending down that $3 million all along, but really kicked into overdrive once Jacques split because she no longer had someone else footing the bill for the luxuries and comforts she enjoys. Yes, her mom spilled the beans about the tubal ligation. I don't believe Luann was ever serious about more kids. https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_1752331
  21. Heidi came out there with Diana Ross hair and a rainbow cape, but didn't have the sense to go full tilt Diana as Mahogany wearing that rainbow Bob Mackie poncho dress. Coulda and shoulda been a rainbow caped homage to that look.
  22. I can tell you where it came from: John Carr, one of the producers, said Scheana was so good at negotiating and organizing comps that he'd hire her. Scheana still paid for what she couldn't get for free; it was still a lot of stuff because it was a fairly sizable wedding.
  23. It's probably a rental. Usually one of the media outlets will do a piece if one of the Housewives has purchased a property. There weren't any about Ramona buying one. All of Ramona's changes to this new place aren't structural. The fact that her vanity is in Avery's bedroom/the spare bedroom is the kicker: I'm 99% sure it's a rental.
  24. It's not that difficult to understand if you know a little bit about tv production. To use on the show the artwork Ariana and Tom have already purchased, Vanderpump Rules production has to contact the artist who produced the work, get permission from the artist to feature it on TV, and compensate the artist for the use of the work on the show. It's the reason why Scheana went with the enormous pictures of herself and Tom and Katie went with the Bubba artwork they created themselves. It's the reason we don't hear any music other than what's in the music library that the producers have access to or the cast produces. The producers aren't trying to pay for anything they don't have to pay for. The reason Tom and Ariana don't have any furniture is whatever it is, but the reason they aren't allowed to move acquisitions in during filming is purely for continuity. It's the reason Katie was forced to live with her disastrous orange hair for all of season 2 even though she realized it was a mistake almost as soon as she did it. She wanted to dye it brown immediately, but producers wouldn't let her.
  25. Carole said Bethenny did the same thing the summer before season 10 when Carole was in California spending time with Cassandra Grey after Cassandra's husband, Brad, died. Bethenny kept pestering Carole for an invitation to hang out with them in Cassandra's house. You know she was just trying to get media and business connections out of it. I shouldn't be surprised after how fucking callous Bethenny was during Dennis' funeral. It makes my eyes roll out of my head when I think of how Bethenny laid into Luann when Luann was angling for an invitation to Bethenny's house for the RHoBH filming. Got to love Moaner continuing to burst Bethenny's balloon. And yes, Bethenny will be watching every week because her grand announcement of "Bethenny Frankel presents The Big Shot with Bethenny, a Cheater Brand Production" was greeted with a "Huh? That sounds like The Apprentice, but slightly less professional." Her big project sounds like a dud and the current charitable crisis prevents her from going out and taking a ton of pictures of herself helping. Bethenny must be going stir crazy.
