  1. So one of the jokes about Flo and Jon Hamm is that the actress who plays Flo, Stephanie Courtney, also appeared in a number of episodes in season 1 of Mad Men. She played a switchboard operator named Marge. Marge was completely over working at Sterling Cooper. Most of the men at Sterling Cooper tended to ignore the switchboard operators. Operators didn't tend to get promotions. Marge's last line is about how she took the job with this ad agency hoping she'd find a husband and now she doesn't want anything to do with any of these men. It's a slightly meta commercial. Not as meta as Matthew Weiner sticking a 30 Rock joke in Mad Men. Ted orders an Old Spanish at a bar after the team pitches a campaign to a car manufacturer in Detroit. An Old Spanish is a fake drink made up for 30 Rock. It's red wine, tonic water, and olives. It's the favorite drink of Cooter Burger. Jon Hamm did a stint on 30 Rock. Additionally, Liz Lemon's mom worked at Sterling Cooper. These Flo and Jon Hamm always crack me up on many levels
  2. An asshole who can't get his shit together to talk to his wife about their problems. Instead he fucked his girlfriend on a pool lounger at a party in full view of people who knew, but didn't like his wife (Jill Zarin and Parri Stanger saw it). When those 2 didn't have the heart or cruelty to tell Ramona, Mario continued to be so notorious and conspicuous with his affair that the tabloids picked up the story. Mario is a punk ass who didn't have the balls to tell his wife he wanted out.
  3. So Ron Richards is out. His initial statement was that he left because actually attempting to help the victims recover their money was no longer compatible with his "reporting" aka endless tweeting on this case. This sounds like someone fairly high up told him to stop tweeting and he chose tweeting, which is...a choice. He's now saying he voluntarily left because he disagrees with Jay Edelson on legal strategy, which is also interesting because Ron Richards doesn't work for Jay Edelson. Edelson isn't one of the bankruptcy trustees. Elissa Miller is the bankruptcy trustee that Ron Richards was working with. Edelson says Ron Richards was fired. I'm inclined to agree. https://www.dailyjournal.com/articles/364991-ronald-richards-out-as-special-counsel-in-girardi-bankruptcy
  4. I have said from the beginning that it's entirely possible for Kim to believe that she supported the entire family off of her work AND that the family never actually depended on Kim's earnings to survive. Both can be true. For the family to have depended on Kim's income the way Kim and viewers think they did, one has to ignore Big Kathy's long history of trapping wealthy guys and bleeding them dry. She married 2 more guys after she and Ken Richards divorced. And Big Kathy basically left Ken Richards ruined and she still insisted on child support. It's ludicrous to believe that Kim alone was their primary means of support because there's no way Big Kathy would have passed on using her husbands' money just to live off of what Kim earned. Additionally if Big Kathy was using all of the money from every man she'd ever been with and Kim's income, she was also using Kyle's income and Little Kathy's regardless of "meager" it may have been in comparison. The reason I think it's possible for Kim to think she was the primary wage earner even if she wasn't is because Big Kathy was very manipulative and coercive. Both Kim and Kyle have talked about driving themselves to jobs when they were around 13. Big Kathy was also very neglectful. Kim, honestly, never seemed like she was much into acting. How do you get your increasingly independent and very disillusioned teen to continue doing a job she doesn't really like? You tell her that her mom and younger sister will starve if she doesn't work even if that was never true. No, she didn't. Kathy married Rick when she was 20. Kathy is 5 years older than Kim. Kim married Monty at 21 and Gregg Davis when she was 24. It's possible that Rick was a friend of Gregg's, but Kim certainly wasn't married to Gregg when Kathy and Rick met.
  5. All of the sisters do it. It's not unique to Kyle. They all want to sweep things under the rug. Kathy stopped speaking to Kyle on the off chance that American Woman would delve into some not so savory things about their mom. It didn't, but Kathy wasn't waiting around to hear that. Meanwhile all of the times that Rinna was needling Kim, the one thing that Rinna said that prompted Kathy to speak up was when Rinna said to Eden "all of the sisters have issues because of their mom." Kathy decided to speak up to defend her mother and her mom's shitty parenting. Even now, Kathy's dumb after the fact statement was that she was upset Kyle outed Kim's alcoholism in season 1. Kathy wasn't upset that Kyle and Kim's relationship was so fractured or that Kim relapsed, but that Kyle told people that Kim had addiction issues. After they filmed the season 1 finale, Kim stopped speaking to Kyle. Kim was speaking to Kathy and for 7 months Kim continued to get worse. Kim was showing up places seemingly intoxicated and discombobulated. But it's cool because Kathy didn't tell anyone that Kim was an addict nor does it seem like she took any real efforts to help Kim. That entire family is all about deflection and externalizing responsibilities. If you're only as sick as your secrets, this family is very sick and Kathy would absolutely love to keep it that way. Actually, all of them would.
  6. There are a ton of viewers who claim that they've read House of Hilton. You can clock their lies if they claim that Kyle was Big Kathy's favorite because she was the youngest because that's not true. It was pretty explicit that Kyle was largely neglected by Big Kathy because Big Kathy didn't think Kyle was a pretty baby. Ken Richards did most of the day to day care of Kyle because Big Kathy thought Kyle was ugly with brown hair. Kim and Kathy were blondes as kids. However, that didn't stop Big Kathy from putting Kyle to work. She would pit the girls against each other. She'd lavish affection on whichever daughter happened to be doing better at the moment. There were periods when Kyle was earning more than Kim. During those times, Kyle would be her favorite who could do no wrong. When Kim was earning more, it was Kim. And so on and so forth. Little Kathy's relationship with Big Kathy was probably the weirdest because Little Kathy never made much money as a child performer/actress so she was probably a perennial disappointment, but she's also the kid who clued Big Kathy into the fact that child performances could make money. Little Kathy was also Big Kathy's first creation. The fact that Larry Avanzino, Little Kathy's father, was out of the picture fairly early made Big Kathy and Little Kathy bonded to each other in a unique way; there was probablyan us against the world mentality. Ken Richards fought for custody of Kim and Kyle for almost a decade. Little Kathy marrying Rick Hilton probably set her up as the continual winner in their family at least until Kim married Gregg Davis in that debacle that has nearly proved to be Kim's undoing. I'm sure it was back to Kathy after Kim's divorce. For the most part, Kyle has always been the also ran in the family: brown hair, disappointing career, and disappointing marriages. So why is Kyle constantly jealous of others? Because that's how she was raised.
  7. So this might be a weird party trick of Sonja's. She and Flagg start joking about it around the 5 minute mark.
  8. Not All Diamonds and Rose has said that Bethenny asked for something that Bravo wouldn't give her. They said acquiescing to it would have set a bad precedent. At the time, everyone thought it was a salary that matched Nene's $2.85 million. Now I'm thinking it was a producer credit for the show. Maybe it was both. Joke's on Bethenny. Kandi already has a producer credit for 1 episode of RHOA. Kandi also prohibited Bravo from profiting from her existing and future ventures long before Bethenny sold Skinnygirl. Kandi also has executive producer credits on her spinoffs. Bethenny only had an executive producer credit on Bethenny & Fredrik, not Bethenny Getting Married or Bethenny Ever After. Jill said that after they had their confab when Bobby died, Bethenny blocked Jill's numbers.
  9. He has a doctorate in business administration from some for-profit school that was shut down. He is one of Lisa's sycophants. When he unnecessarily stuck his nose in the middle of an issue between Vanderpump and Ariana, I was quite over him and Vanderpump Dogs.
  10. Lisa's response to John Blizzard saying that he completely misrepresented to Teddi that LVP was behind outing Dorit was so fucking weird that she had to behind the whole thing. Lisa's response was basically "Now that you've told me, I forgive you and you get to keep your job." If it was Sessa, I would understand. He was the executive director of Vanderpump Dogs. Blizzard was no one. Vanderpump was actually fairly manipulative that season on Vanderpump Rules, but she was sloppier than usual because of her brother's death.
  11. The tour starts January 2022. They film BDM in the fall. So the next season has either just finished filming or is wrapping now. They film for 4 or 5 weeks.
  12. Someone needed to micromanage her ass and let her know that she misspelled "chief stew" on her merch. "Cheif!" WTF is this shit. Smug moron. https://captainsandyyawn.com/shop/ https://captainsandyyawn.com/product/cheif-stew-one-piece-swimsuit/
  13. Well, I am so smart. S-M-R-T. I mean S-M-A-R-T.
  14. I hate to be Lady Homonym of Pedantia, but it's palate cleanser. Palate is taste. Palette is painting or range. Pallet is shipping and freight. Also a sleeping pallet is apparently derived from an old French word for a bundle of straw. Like most things in English, it could stand to be a lot less confusing. https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/palate-pallet-palette-difference-usage
  15. He also sent out that video to all of the blogs of a guy snorting coke. The guy looked like James and Jax swore up and down that it was James and that he, Jax, was physically present when this happened. Luckily, some people were able to ID the video. It wasn't James. Jax was so unhinged off camera and it was hard to ignore. Lisa was grieving the loss of her brother so it's entirely possible she missed a lot of this as it was happening. Lisa just didn't need to push Billie Lee to absolve all of these assholes; they didn't deserve or earn it. In that moment, Lisa was thinking more about her businesses and the show than the Billie Lee or LGBTQ advocacy. Unfortunately, she did it in such obvious graceless fashion. I was very disappointed with her.
  16. Except it isn't helping to get the money and it certainly isn't helping to get the money any faster. We've seen what happens when Erika is publicly criticized. She becomes defensive, intractable, and nastier. She already believes she's wrongly under attack; it's probably not a great idea to feed her persecution complex. The last time she felt this way, she stopped communicating with her lawyers and was possibly doing something illegal and that's why her lawyers petitioned the court to drop her as a client. It wasn't for nonpayment because courts don't often allow that. Erika isn't trustworthy and she gets shadier and less trustworthy the more she's cornered. Just because it's legal to talk to the press doesn't mean it's advisable. Sometimes courts issue gag orders for all sorts of reasons that don't always have to do with tainting a jury. There are so many attorneys involved in this entire mess, but the only one we hear from on any regular basis is Ron Richards. What's the name of the Girardi Keese bankruptcy trustee? What's the name of Tom Girardi's personal bankruptcy trustee? What's the name of the firm doing what Richards is doing in the personal bankruptcy? How is it that the rest of them have managed to give only a handful of interviews while Ron Richards is in the news almost every week and has over 300 social media posts about this matter. No one else involved in the case does. Richards' purpose in all of this is to retrieve the money, but the man probably spends as much time on his social media as he does going through Erika's documents to find the missing money. I'm an attorney and I find a lot of Ron Richards behavior to be unprofessional and unnecessary. There are enough attorneys involved in this matter for me to conclude that his behavior is atypical. It's legal, but a bit unseemly. And at no point have I heaped all of the blame on Ron Richards. Ninety percent of this is on Tom. Erika's greed and self-absorption made her very happy to take this money and spend it freely. That greed and self-absorption are the reasons she can't stay off of social media and it's gross. Ron Richards sniping at Erika just encourages that grossness. His sniping at her keeps it about Erika as opposed to Tom and Erika's victims. Maybe I don't want anymore of her self-absorption. Unless it's about the victims or an actual material change in the case, then I don't want to hear from Ron Richards. And the truth of the matter is that NOTHING had changed in the case when Ron Richards opened his mouth for that reporter. Ron Richards isn't shittier than Tom and Erika, but he's still shitty. He was shitty when he was putting his own unnecessary garbage spin on Russell's abuse of Taylor after Russell's death. I'm not giving Tom or Erika a pass.
  17. Jax, in particular, was really problematic. Jax was very bad that season. He refused to film with Billie Lee. He created that fake Raquel twitter account that was tweeting that James was gay and cheating on her. Jax was the source of that rumor that Tom Sandoval was cheating on Ariana with Billie Lee. Jax was also alleging Ariana was actually a lesbian and not bisexual around that time. Jax was also IRL followed Billie Lee and her friends to places (not paid events, but like regular restaurants, grocery stores, and normal every day places) and taking strange unflattering photos of them and posting them on Instagram with nasty comments. Kristen flipped out on Billie Lee and Jesse Montana for showing up to the (Lisa) Vanderpump Vegas opening. She said something like this event was only for people who were the cast of her and her friends' show. Which is HILARIOUS because it's Lisa's restaurant and Lisa's name on the show and Lisa fucking invited all of them, including Billie Lee and Jesse, to the opening. I gather that there rest of the Coven+ were just unfriendly as opposed to confrontational. But Jax' behavior actually worried me. That he was making an effort to manufacture stories to screw up people's lives and following Billie Lee around seemed next level scary. And he actually continued following her around after she left the show. It was not normal.
  18. The woman who was actually an HBO executive whose background they hid on the show? She's probably back at her real job. She claimed she left that deal because she didn't want to be shackled. She wanted to be free to pursue whatever opportunities that she wanted. Sure Jan.
  19. It was supposed to look like that. It was a runway and fashion photography trend that never quite made the transition to the real world. It showed up on a couple of red carpets, but it never caught on. https://www.self.com/story/gold-leaf-holiday-hairstyle-ideas
  20. That last day of the season 7 Vanderpump Rules reunion convinced me that Lisa sometimes is only an ally when it is convenient. Lisa demanded that Billie Lee say that none of the cast had said or done anything homophobic or transphobic because Lisa said that "she wouldn't associate with people like that." But some of the cast had actually done some really bigoted things and that's not even getting into that crap with Faith that Lisa has known about for years. There's nothing even close to that in this article. Her attorney merely said that they've received settlement offers and that they're in the preliminary stages of considering them. That settlement offer could simply be "give us the $25 million and we won't try to liquidate your personal property and garnish your wages." And Erika considering it could be hearing the offer and answering with a big old nope. Nothing has changed, but this does serve as a reminder of what a fame hungry pos Ron Richards is. All of his constant mugging for the press has got to make this ordeal so much worse for the victims. It turns their pain into a footnote in this whole ordeal while 2 narcissists snipe at each on social media and in the press.
  21. Yeah, she seems to come across like a grade A misogynist who was happy to torpedo the careers of other female journalists. She sounds like a nightmare. https://nypost.com/2021/10/01/katie-couric-reveals-herself-as-an-misogynistic-idiot/
  22. Even if it is "her show," I expect the lead to be a big part of sort of setting the tone for the show behind the scenes. It's clear that Denzel misunderstood Ellen's ad libbing for Ellen berating a fellow actor and Denzel reacted to protect the other person. Rather than try to diffuse the situation, Ellen decided to dig deep into her ego and feelings and escalate things for no good reason. Ellen then ran to Pauletta to complain about Pauletta's mean husband. It's no wonder Grey's had a reputation for being a toxic set. It wasn't just Isaiah, Katherine, or Patrick. Sounds like Ellen may have played a part too. On another subject, I'm just astonished by Katie Couric's new book. I never much cared for her, but she seems intent on destroying any positive opinion or legacy she ever had. It's perplexing that no one in her life either saw fit to or could dissuade her from writing this petulant mean girls-esque burn book masquerading as a memoir.
  23. No. They haven't. The Housewife and the Hustler came out in June 2021. They seem to have been filming October 2020 - February 2021. However, the most incriminating articles and news stories about Tom's swindling and Erika's complicity did come out during this period. Getting dressed up to drink in someone's house and scream at each other is a Real Housewives trope. And you can see just how foreign a concept it is on almost every franchise. There is always some new cast person who joins, dresses like a "ragamuffin," and doesn't understand any of this foolishness. It was Kim Fields on Atlanta. It was Cindy and Heather on RHONY. Probably Jackie on RHONJ. Wasn't there some big and very dumb thing during Monique's first season of RHOP where Gizelle was constantly criticizing Monique for not dressing up. And this concept has been a perennial topic of conversation on RHOBH: with Eileen and then Teddi and then Denise. The other issue is that the longer the shows go on, the more the women find themselves competing against the other franchises. They went from Sky tops, Jovani, and Louis Vuitton Alma bags to Fendi (or Endi), Chanel (or Nel Cha), and Birkin bags the actual price of a house. And whenever, someone shows up in an Endi or NelCha you feel the strain on that woman's finances as she tries to figure out how to stay sartorially up to snuff without bankrupting herself. But really it's the show.
  24. No and they probably won't be charged with any crimes either. Tom's diagnoses and conservatorship make him presumptively incompetent to stand trial. That a big hurdle to overcome, especially because Tom's diagnoses are ones that a person typically does not recover from regardless of treatment. This means that he has a condition where one would never regain competence. A lot of prosecutors wouldn't even bother indicting such a person because the prosecutor knows that there is an almost zero chance of actually trying this defendant. It's possible that a prosecutor could try to prove that the conservatorship was obtained fraudulently, but that's likely going to involve a long and fairly costly investigation. In all likelihood, a prosecutor is probably going to drop the criminal prosecution of Tom and/or Erika. If I were a prosecutor, I'd focus all of my criminal investigation and prosecution efforts on the CA Bar and the judges who Tom seemed to have in his pocket. Those guys are begging for an abuse of office and public corruption prosecution. It would be ugly, but that's the kind of thing that a prosecutor might use to supercharge their political aspirations.
  25. Anyone remember her Brynnygirl trademarks? Bethenny is 50% Kim Zolciak-Biermann and 50% Lisa Rinna, which still makes Bethenny 150% shameless and self-interested in everything she does. She's a deeply and fundamentally flawed person. She gives to charity, but she's not a charitable, kind, or giving person. She's really only capable of empathy when it is abstract. A disaster in a far off place, she'll boo hoo online to raise money, but turn into a TERF when someone asks her to begin having a pronoun discussion with her kid.* She'll talk about how she wanted to add more women of color on the shows, but ignore that she was and is routinely awful to every woman of color she's ever interacted with. *A number of her listeners have disputed that the situation she described at the summer camp ever happened.
