@ChicksDigScars: Amen! I was just sitting here trying to think of the music that Madison and Kiefer Hubble skated to in one of their FD's that was so good (and, of course, not romantic). Cannot think of it...something like Noise of Summer or Noise of something like. Lowkey, jazzy, very modern. Back when we used to have a jazz station, I loved hearing it. I'll work on this. Not too keen on the podium as well. P/C always look the same, no matter what they're skating to. Sure, they skate "like buttah" on ice. But I find them boring now. Chock and Bates FD is such a breath of fresh air to me and they just present themselves now so well. Somebody worked magic on them up in Gadbois. And the always elegant W/P not on the podium? I need to think about whether or not I want to watch ice dance reruns on the 28th. You're right about the Japanese being a great place for competitions. Hope Worlds/O's never return to Russia. I remember years ago reading, maybe at SkateFans, that several audience members were screaming "Fall" "Fall" over and over while Sasha was competing at Cup of Russia.

I never noticed a difference in Cokes in Europe. But then, I didn't order it much. I do recall being in a McDonald's in Bergen (where I got a Coke & it tasted just like our Coke) where, while standing in a long line, I was shoved aside two different times by men who were crossing to the other side of the room. Never experienced that before.

Re: S/K nearly putting you to sleep? Tanith said that they were skating w/ more control now, esp Nikita. I was a bit disappointed because he's usually more dramatic & fun to watch. But I think World's silver is the best they've done (he won bronze at Sochi w/ a previous partner). I was stunned to see P/C's score. How can they be *that* much better than the other top teams? It makes me wonder how the other teams will have the drive to keep training, knowing this is what they face at every competition P/C are in until the next Olympics.

Yes! I like them, I like their skating & programs. But, IMO, she's too big for him (or, he's too small for her). They do look awkward together. I'm always amazed to see him twirl her around his shoulders.

I've always loved Katsalapov's style. He's the standout (even with his previous partner), sooooo artistic. But I too am surprised re: their being in 2nd place.

Someone wondered if the FD might be shown at 1:00 PM on Saturday on NBCSN. Not according to my tv schedule (in the metro DC area). Heck--the Washington Post has hockey listed at 7:00 tonight (I checked the onscreen schedule that shows ice dance--got my fingers crossed cause you never know!)

I'm dumbfounded by the Lim claim that Bell has been bullying her. So I'm waiting to hear what their coach has to say. I'd think he or his assistants at the rink (or even other skaters) would've noticed *something* while these two skaters were training.

Heh heh. OK, Chicksdigscars...steady on, as they used to say. You need to prepare yourself in case the worst (in our opinion, of course) happens. Since we can't watch the FD live & we'll only find out what happened from the forums online, prepare yourself. Do like Sally Fields in "Soap" and have a b.i.g. bottle of wine w/ a straw sticking out of it ☺ I'll join ya!

@ChicksDigScars: Thanks for the update on pairs and ladies. At least Cain & Leduc are in the Top Ten (whew). And Mariah is in 6th place? Be still my heart. Her beautiful skating reminds me of the good ol' days with Kristi Yamaguchi and Michelle Kwan. But the LP for Mariah is going to be the nailbiter. Yes, indeed, Chock and Bates on the podium would make my day--heck, my year! Love their free dance (no OTT mushiness and/or angst--yay). And to think I was never a fan of theirs before this season. Someone at Gadbois made some subtle changes in their skating or presentation (I no longer see him bending forward; really upbeat & creative FD) so it was worth it for them to go there. It may not be humanly possible for them to surpass the French but I'm still going to root for them to be on top of the podium😉

Someone posted this info' at SkateFans re: repeats of Worlds on the Olympic Channel: It's weird the FD won't be on this week. Especially when the US has a good chance to medal. The schedule I pulled up on my tv shows repeats of all disciplines on the Olympic Channel next week. Starts at 5 pm PDT each night. Does that mean 8 pm EDT, etc? Check your local listing, as Kathy says. Pairs SP & FS on 3/25 Ladies SP & FS on 3/26 Men SP & FS on 3/27 RD & FD on 3/28 And I forget which channel will show the FSs and FD after 3/28. Maybe Olympic Channel again?

For some odd reason, I couldn't get into last night's show. Maybe because they weren't saving an old cabin but fixing up a yurt. I love it when they restore a really old place (& discover newspapers or calendars from the 50's). Wish Lance would drop by for a couple minutes. I miss that character!

I just watched this show for the first time today while sitting in a waiting room. This woman is odd. At the opening, she stood in front of her audience for quite some time, taking in their screams and adulation. I don't think I've ever seen a show's host ever do that before (at least Ellen dances amongst her audience). It's also uncomfortable, IMO, to watch her speak. Can't put my finger on what's going on with her but something is really strange about WW.

Wish I could find out if NBC, et al, will air the FD. If they're going to pay millions of dollars to have broadcasting rights, you'd think they'd air the final competition featuring two USA teams that have the potential to win it all. The federation needs to rethink who's best at broadcasting these events. How are we supposed to attract new fans when our top teams are blacked out?

This past week, while watching Nicholle Wallace's show, I could hear someone sniffing nonstop while guests were speaking. I don't think it was Nicholle. Probably was one of her guests. It's annoying & distacting.

I found a schedule that I printed out last fall and it shows mens & ladies long programs on the 23rd so "singles" is correct...I think. Is it possible the Free Dance won't be televised by NBC? We have two teams that could very well medal.
