Carlin and Evan: But Mostly Carlin!
BetyBee replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Bringing Up Bates
I wonder if the putting green idea came from Evan recently introducing his boy to golf? Maybe he's hoping to raise the next Tiger Woods. He sees a lot of easy to make videos that they can do right in their own backyard. It beats working for a living! -
I have only had a few pedicures in my life. The last one was when I brought my granddaughter (around age 12) with to get her first manicure while I got a pedicure. Though we didn't speak the same language, I got a vibe from the guy who did my pedicure, that he didn't want me as a client. Still he did ok, until the very end when he swiped the pumice stone across my ankle. It hurt so bad and ruined the pedicure for me. I couldn't wear sandals until my ankle healed. I suspected it wasn't an accident, but I didn't make a fuss because I didn't want to ruin my granddaughter's experience. It turns out that my granddaughter wasn't happy with the experience and has done her own nails (beautifully!) since. She's 15 now. I quit dying my hair years ago. Once I became a grandma, I freed myself of that task and expense. My whole head is white now, except for my old brown underneath. Lately, I rarely wear make-up. I'm kind of falling down on the job beauty-wise! We've been watching Antiques Roadshow UK and old Hollywood Squares episodes on Pluto. The celebrities still crack me up on HS. Many are deceased now and it brings back memories of a different time.

Eww! Once, many years ago, I drank a bottle of RC Cola and found a burnt match on the bottom. I was pregnant too! Anyway, I just let it go and never drank another RC. You could maybe take the rest back to the store for a refund. I can certainly understand that you may be off of mocha frappuccinos for the rest of your life! As for manicures, my MIL was taking prenatal vitamins in her 80s to keep her nails strong. I doubt that that's a good idea, but she did have pretty hands.

Whoever gave that cross with Rodrigues spelled incorrectly just made Jill's poopy list, lol. That really is a bad mistake. My sister received a sign for her kitchen from her MIL of many years, with a completely different spelling of her name. That sign went to Goodwill. This one would have to go in the garbage and I bet throwing a cross in the garbage isn't easy for...well, anyone. I can't even throw a Bible away, even if it's falling apart! And I'm not into organized religion anymore.

I love hummingbirds! I feel like I haven't had as many this year, but I keep making the concoction and putting it out. A few come around. The way they hover/fly is just so amazing!

Meet the Parents: Gil and Kelly Jo Bates
BetyBee replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Bringing Up Bates
My first thought was that Kelly is losing weight to try to hold onto her man and @GeeGolly posted the perfect picture! -
Thanks @CalicoKitty - we actually have done the turn it off, then back on many times and that usually works, but this not recognizing the Wifi is a new one on us. I read that the company was sold in 2017 and that service and quality suffered under the new management. We bought ours in 2020. I've always felt that the software was not the best, but most of the time we've been pleased with the comfort of the bed. Still, I'll never purchase another one.

I think I raved a while back (could be 3 years ago!) here about the wonders of our Sleep Number bed. I would like to take my rave back and rant instead! Without going into too much detail, it seems that software issues are common and expensive to try to fix. Customer service recommends new pumps that we could purchase and install ourselves (technicians are hard to come by and cost even more $$), but if that wasn't the issue, we may not return the purchased items. It's like you can't win. Ours no longer recognizes our wifi router, but at least the Bluetooth is still working. When it dies, I guess it will go to a landfill and we will have learned an expensive lesson!

He was probably holding her arm and giving tight lipped kisses all day....or at least whenever he spotted a camera!

My iPhone got too hot while on the dash of my car. It was a short trip, but in direct, hot sun and when I got to my destination, I had to set it down in front of a fan and wait for it to cool down. It's worked fine ever since, but I probably wouldn't leave my devices in a hot car.

@Mindthinkr- you are a kind and thoughtful friend!
-
@Mindthinkr - they are asking a lot of you! I certainly wouldn't have cable installed if I didn't want it! I finally got to go home yesterday and it's so good to be back in my own bed and petting my own kitty! It's nice to be with Mr. BetyBee too! Today I'm cleaning and refilling my hummingbird feeders, deadheading my petunias etc. I don't have a ton of laundry to do, since I had easy access to washer & dryer at my house sit. We live in a condo and they painted our porch floor yesterday. It looks nice, but the landscapers blew our courtyard yesterday. I hope there are no grass blades now permanently attached to my porch now! There's no place like home! ETA: My daughter lopped about 6 inches off my hair and my husband hasn't even noticed!
