I like how the first thing Jill does after her exhausting vacation, is to go out on a "double date" with Pastor Nathan and Nurie (so they can pay for Jill and Dave) without any of her other blessings.

Josie strikes me as a woman who is madly in love with herself. I'm glad she's about to deliver, so we don't have to see any more pics of her caressing her belly while sticking her butt out. I'm sure her hair and make up will be just so when she posts the inevitable newborn pics of her latest accessory

I heard from an old "friend" I had happily lost touch with. She called, ostensibly to offer condolences on the loss of my Mom, but blathered on about herself and criticized every mutual acquaintance she could think of, including our dear, childhood friend who passed away in 2019. I was shocked! She also criticized a childhood friend and neighbor, who she knows I'm still very close to. I had forgotten what a mean gossip she always was! I kept trying to get off the phone and finally just said "gotta go" after she "joked" about stocking up on arsenic in case her husband's dementia gets any worse! I could tell she was planning to call me regularly, so I blocked her number. The older I get, the less tolerance I have for energy vampires.

I'll pass on that!

Leo looks kind of grumpy in that photo, but he's not at all. I've never had such an affectionate cat before. He's a lap cat who puts his head back when I'm holding him and he looks at me with such a loving and contented look. I guess we needed each other because he's been such a comfort to me since losing my Mom and our sweet, old kitty. @Salacious Kitty - Demelza is a sweetheart! I love ginger cats.

Does wearing a ton of makeup and skin tight skirts honor God in some way? How does printing the same old tracts that wind up as litter on God's green earth honor God? How does criticizing others honor God? Or assuming that "Natives" don't already have Jesus? Or shorting your own kids on food while stuffing her own face on endless dates and vacations? How do these things honor God? Jill, Jesus drank wine, btw! (Mike Keller's bs interpretation aside)

We went to the shelter and adopted a ginger male. He's 4.5, according to their Vet.That puts his birthday in mid August, so we named him Leo. He's super affectionate and follows me everywhere! A lap cat is a first for me. He's filling the hole Midnight left in our lives. It's so different to have a young cat around the house! He's playful and funny. And he has a much different (kind of small) meow, which sounds funny coming from a 15 lb bruiser!

It's bright and sunny here. Cold though - high of 28 today. Yesterday we went to Costco and I noticed two odd people, whom I immediately felt wary of. They didn't appear to be together. First I noticed a thirtyish man with an angry look on his face. He didn't have a cart and he kept getting in our way. The woman was perhaps late 30's, all bundled up inside the store, also with no cart. Neither one appeared to be buying anything. They made me think of spies, like on the Americans or something. It was so strange! I asked my non-observant husband about them and he had noticed them too! If they were secret shoppers, they weren't good at it, because they didn't appear to be shopping. Honestly, I wondered if they were casing the joint or thinking of opening fire. Why must we live in such a weird timeline? 😟

It is very important in their world for women to stay trim between numerous pregnancies. Their ghadly headships are free to blimp out.

I don't think they take insurance, but the hearing tests are free. We had to schedule an appointment for the test. I passed, but my husband's result was odd, so they recommended he go to another doctor. We ended up cancelling his hearing aids because at that time we thought they might be added to medicare. That didn't happen, so we haven't gotten around to rescheduling.

@ChiCricket - I hope all goes well today and that Mr. CC behaves himself!

If that's the case, the pastor of the Rod church is one unfortunate man, because I'm sure the Rods don't put anything in the collection plate. In fact, I wouldn't put it past Jill to take money out of the plate!

I let them both go to voicemail. I miss answering machines too! I used to love coming home and checking my messages. My calls go private at 9pm (except for close family). I think I might change it to start at 7pm, now that I'm officially a curmudgeon, lol. I like that I can see who is calling and gauge how long the call is likely to take. With both my niece and my childhood friend, those are long calls which I wasn't up for at that hour, so they got voicemail.

I'm sorry you had a difficult vacation, @Mindthinkr! Thank you for your kind words. I know I'm lucky to have such nice friends in my life, but this week I received 2 evening phone calls. Both of these people know that I'm not at my best for chatting in the evening, but it seems people go with what is convenient for them. Both callers do not work and could easily call in the daytime. I know it's a small thing, but sometimes by evening, I have nothing left to give and I've told them that! Life's been kind of tough lately, with losing my Mom and our cat. Yesterday was Mr. BB's colonoscopy and it went pretty well. I was terrified because he's nearly 70 and that is the age my Mom was when she had her first colonoscopy and she had colon cancer. Rather than looking at the bright side that Mom lived 23 years after that diagnosis, I was (in my head, not out loud) obsessing about a possible bad diagnosis for him. Luckily, he came through it with some likely benign polyps. I've had those myself, so I'm not overly concerned. He was a real trouper about the prep. And I was a real trouper about the drive, which was far away in unfamiliar territory. We high fived each other for a job well done! I realize I don't have much to complain about as I read my book club book, American Dirt. What migrants are migrating FROM and dealing WITH when they get to their destination, is no joke! I'm about 1/2 way through and I'm terrified for these fictional characters! It's very good. Anyway, I realize that my life has been good and I've always been pretty safe. That is truly a blessing not to be taken for granted! I wish all Small Talkers a good weekend!

My husband is having his first colonoscopy tomorrow. He'll be starting to drink the liquid prep (his doc prefers the liquid to the pills) soon. Then the fun will begin. I hope the prep isn't too awful for him! But who am I kidding? It's a nightmare!

He looks older than 6 weeks. George has the expression of an older kid, imo. He's really cute!

@Scarlett45-you have so much on your plate. I'm glad you're still going to take your Morocco trip. I know it's hard to see your dear Mama having health issues. I hope you have many good times ahead with her. Such a loving family you have! Thank you so much for updating us!

The lovebirds would have more fun (and could save on gas and food) if they dump their brood on Kaylee. Let KayJon feed and entertain them! Then they could have Nurie and their dear, dear grandsons (that make Jill's heart burst with love) all to themselves before and after the Plexus trip.
