  1. I agree. There's no way the Supergirl pilot won't be part of Preview Night (when a select group of tv pilots are made available before the official start of the Con). It may even be one of the shows that presents the pilot during the individual panel, giving con attendees two opportunities to see and react to it. It's certainly possible that the leak was intentional but I'm inclined to agree with those who believe it wasn't, if only because Comic Con is less than two months away.
  2. I like Burgess and Ruzek individually but have always found their relationship to be so shallow. I find her relationships with Roman and Atwater, and his with the rest of Intelligence, to be far better developed and interesting. As a result, I felt nothing when they got engaged. Not a single emotion outside of wanting to get back to everyone else. If this is a relationship that I'm supposed to be rooting for then I need there to be development starting next season. I want to be happy for the characters during these big life events but I can't with them. I hope that my feelings will have changed if they do end up getting married. I did understand Burgess' disappointment at getting bumped back to patrol but I've always felt that she's a better fit there anyway so I was happy to see it. I liked the subplot of Dawson and the guys keeping that gym open and I think it has great potential for the smaller character moments this show has done so well. I really felt for Erin. Bush has done a great job of showing Erin letting her grief completely take over and become self destruction. I think her assessment of the character's mentality is spot on. Bunny would rather be Erin's friend than her parent. She sees Erin's grief and encourages her to give into it. She serves her drinks, she calls the old hook up, and she takes a framed photo of Erin and Nadia by the precinct. At no point does she ever show actual concern for Erin or make an effort to get her help because Bunny is smart enough to know that she has no power over an emotionally healthy Erin. Erin being in such a bad place makes Bunny happy, especially since it lets her feel superior to Voigt. I'm really interested to see what Bunny will do when Erin starts putting herself back together. I feel like she's going to do something crazy in her attempts to keep Erin in this bad place and I think it's going to be great television.
  3. I don't think it's possible. The convention has already happened, which is the formal nomination by the party. Maybe it could switch if enough people do write in voting but people just don't care enough to do that. If she hadn't gotten the nomination then it could work (there are confresspeople who have been elected due to write in campaigns), but I just don't see it happening.
  4. This is your Ray Palmer thread. Feel free to come up with a better title and we'll make the necessary changes. As posted in the Rip Hunter and Hawkgirl threads, feel free to discuss what we already know about the character from the show(s) but keep speculation based on the comic counterpart in the Legends: Comics Vs Show thread. Enjoy!
  5. It's the Blue Steel. It hypnotic. I can't wait to see him deploying it on a weekly basis again.
  6. I want Meisner brought in as a regular and love interest for Adaline. And, yes, he needs to be smiling all the time.
  7. The playground mods have discussed it and we've decided that it's best to err on the side of caution when it comes to new characters like Rip Hunter. Any speculation on what attributes/storylines the show will take from the comics should stay in the Legends: Comics Vs Show thread. Speculation about the character in general, minus information about his comic counterpart, may stay here. If anyone has questions, feel free to PM myself or MarkHB. Thanks and enjoy!

  9. I really hope Meisner joins the cast. He and Adaline had amazing chemistry and Diana clearly adores him. Definitely my favorite part of the episode.
  10. THAT'S IT!! I got the wrong twin, but that's the outfit I was picturing. Thanks!
  11. Me too. I think Arthur's delivery and the pacing of the trailer combined to make it really work. I'm not gonna lie, when I saw Sara's new outfit I immediately thought, "why is Sara dressed like Luke Skywalker?" Anything that makes me think of the original trilogy is always welcome and it being in connection with my girl Sara just makes me want to watch even more.
  12. This is the place for talking about the comic inspiration of our cast of characters. No show spoilers allowed BUT comics themselves will be discussed freely. Enjoy!
  13. My plan for the thread name was "Sara Lance: Scarynikki12's Favorite Character" but I think this one works too, heh. So glad to see my girl again! Caity wore the mask well but I'm fine with it being removed. I haven't actually seen the trailer yet (at work) so I have to ask: do we see her costume yet or did they just announce the name?
  14. When he showed up he made it seem like he had some time off and wanted to see Jay but was later shown to be lying and needed to leave New York for other reasons. I forget if this episode actually mentions those reasons.
  15. I'd like a time jump but not until the season has started. They can do one of those episodes that takes place over several weeks or months, with chyrons informing us of the specific duration. The premiere definitely needs to pick up where it left off, so that the Charmings and Hook can show us the fallout of Emma's sacrifice. Only after we see their devastation and mobilization to save her will I accept a time jump. And this show definitely needs one so that Henry's age can start catching up to Gilmore's. Along those lines, I still want the episodes to actually show the passage of time. I'd be ok if every episode took place over several weeks, with several more passing in between, as it would start solving the timeline issues and make Dark Emma actually seem serious. If they follow their usual pattern, then Emma will stop being the Dark One about a week later (in show, I expect it to be resolved by the 5A finale for us), which really lessens how serious this is. I also want Regina and Snow to have a conversation. I want Regina to finally apologize to Snow for the 50 years of ruining her life and trying to kill her, since she (presumably) finally understands how it felt thanks to the AU that Isaac wrote. She now knows the fear and uncertainty that Snow experienced every single day and (hopefully) understands that she didn't deserve it. If she's truly redeemed, she'll apologize and mean it. And I'd like Snow to accept it with the gravitas it deserves rather than brushing it off as no big deal, acting like it wasn't necessary, or insisting that she's just as bad if not worse. I also want Belle to refuse to take back Rumpel, no matter what he does from this point on. Blank slate or not, he mistreated and abused her over and over and doesn't deserve to be rewarded. I'd like her to maybe help Will find Ana and finally give his contract a purpose.
  16. Most of the supplements that are sold in the US aren't regulated by the FDA, meaning that the companies making them can use dried dog poo if they want, so it made me laugh long and hard when I saw that the crystal dust ended up in the fish oil capsules. I do agree that the crystal dust has likely been filtered enough that it won't harm humans while also activating future Inhumans, so I'm not worried about any mass casualties for next season. I seriously love Bobbi and Hunter, together and separate, and I can't wait to see what's in store for them next season. I've always felt that Ward works best as a recurring villain, ala Sark, so I'm glad he's being set up to be the newest leader of Hydra. Bonus points if he still insists that it has nothing to do with the Nazis. He wears that delusion well and I want more of it.
  17. They definitely need to play up the silliness of Thanos doing all of this to make Death his girlfriend. Thankfully, we have plenty of examples of silliness working out well in the MCU so I'm not at all worried.
  18. Since Emma dropped the I Love You on Hook, I wonder if they'll manage what Rumpel wouldn't and use True Love's Kiss to remove her from being the Dark One.
  19. What also annoys about Emma becoming the Dark One is that this will be the distraction that keeps the characters from actually talking about the events of the Authors book. Events like Evil Snow irrationally targeting Regina the exact same way Regina irrationally targeted her. Are we going to see Regina apologize to Snow now that she knows what it was like on the receiving end of a years long murder plot? Nope. If anything we'll probably see Snow somehow feel more guilt now that she's experienced the same feelings Regina did and be even more determined to make up for Cora killing Daniel. Assuming it's even addressed which I don't expect.
  20. I expect next season we'll see Emma murder a bunch of recurring characters (as explanation for why they're never around) and the mains will seriously discuss whether or not they should kill her. Bonus points if she kills Lily right after they learn Charming is Daddy. On the other hand I think this is a hint that next season will be the last. Conquering the source of the Dark One's powers is a series ending kind of story. There's really no place else to go after that.
  21. In addition, when that admin policeman sarcasitcally asked if they should do memorials for the janitor as well, I wish someone had responded (right then or later): "well, if a janitor was killed while working for the police department, or as a direct result of working for the police department, then absolutely!" I know he was using that example to belittle Nadia, her role, and her importance to her team and district, but I certainly hope that anyone working for the police who gets killed while on the job or because of the job would get similar consideration. To echo what was posted above, Nadia (or the hypothetical non-police employees) didn't die of an illness or accident that could happen to anyone, she died because she caught the attention of a serial killer while she was at work. A serial killer who liked preying on young women with the same physical characteristics as Nadia and who wanted to stick it to the CPD by going after one of their own. She absolutely deserved that commemoration. I wasn't worried if she'd actually get it, cause that kind of B plot usually gets resolved as expected, but it was nice to see Voigt and Platt making sure she recieved that honor. What I'm actually saddest about with losing Nadia is her friendship with Platt. The woman's a hardass but she's also a total marshmallow when the situation calls for it and her scenes with Nadia allowed that side of her to come out. I loved Nadia's friendship with Erin but her friendship with Platt was a lovely surprise and I'm going to miss it.
  22. I finally figured out what was really bothering me about this episode while I was at work today. I think that Henry Sr should have been incorporated more into the flashbacks. In particular, I think he should have been the one to say the lines about how Cora's wrong about love not being a weakness and Regina being responsible for her own happy ending. Cora saying them is just too jarring with the woman who showed up in Storybrooke ready to destroy everyone and become the new Dark One. Well, the second line can work with season 2 Cora but not in the way she said/meant it to Regina. Anyway, I feel that it would have felt more earned if Henry had said the happy ending line. He could have mirrored Zelena in a way by coming to her after she'd taken the potion, told her she was becoming more like Cora every day and that her happy ending was only up to her. I can see Regina ignoring that advice and then it coming back to her when Zelena jogs her memory. Then she'd realize that Henry Sr was right and Cora's characterization would still be consistent. I know Henry Sr was a weak man but even Rumpel once found the courage to go to Captain Jones and ask for Milah's return so anything is possible.
  23. So Regina knew the lesson this whole time? Then why did she destroy everybody's lives? I did expect her to magically transfer the fetus from Zelena's womb to hers so it's nice they didn't go that way. Why do they keep retconning Cora?
  24. It also was a testiment to Barton's relationship with both Natasha and Fury. I'm not suggesting that anyone doubted it but Fury setting it up for him and Natasha being known as Aunt Nat was a great way to show how much Barton trusts both of them (and that they've proven they deserve that trust). The Hawkeye and Black Widow friendship is one of my favorite parts of these movies.
  25. I see it as this being the only way we're going to get any story about Black Widow. For some reason, Marvel, Disney, or both seem completely against giving her her own movie*. I think the other directors know, or at least suspect, that she won't get her own and are trying to pick up the slack out of respect for the character. The way they're doing it may be cause for alarm, but I think this truly is the only way we're going to get any Black Widow story unless Marvel/Disney change their minds. *I've seen the argument that ScarJo may not want to do a solo movie, but I remember a few interviews where she expressly said that she'd do it if offered and her movie Lucy felt like she was auditioning for a solo BW movie. She may have changed her mind since she got pregnant/had the baby but I think that Marvel/Disney would point to her contract if they wanted this movie and she resisted, so this decision lies only with them. I do agree that it would be nice if one or more of the movies would bring in something more explicit from the show. I'm personally hoping they can figure out a way to bring in Mockingbird, even if just for a scene, because she is an actual Avenger in the comics. Fitz and Simmons would probably make more sense, though, since their presence wouldn't need a lot of explanation for movie audiences and they can geek out about working with the Avengers in the follow up episode.
