I don't like raisins by themselves but I will happily eat them in: cereal, bread, cookies, muffins, & covered in chocolate. Yum yum. Giving out raisins at Halloween should be considered a crime against humanity.

The Pulse: Jessica Jones In The Media
scarynikki12 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Jessica Jones [V]
They're letting Tennant have an accent! Hooray! I've been a bit out of the loop outside of the trailers (which are sooo awesome), so I hadn't read anything about him recently but this is excellent. And it's his Barty Crouch....Junior accent which means EVIL. So. Excited. -
Every time I think about last night's episode I pout. So, in an effort to stop, I've also thought of a way they could keep Nora. Just make the Kelly infecting Nora part of the scene a fantasy of Eph's. Open season 3 by revealing that Zack, upon hearing Kelly call his name, ran away from Nora. Eph dreaming last night's scene was just his way of accepting that his demon son would rather be with his vampire mother than him. Oh, and that he holds Nora 100% responsible and would rather she died. Then I could get my Nora and Fet. I love them in the books so much and one of the reasons I've stuck with this show is the knowledge that I'd get to see their story unfold. All us book readers (who like them) earned it!

Happily Ever After: Relationships Are Hard
scarynikki12 replied to CatMack's topic in Once Upon A Time
I'm curious about something. What if all that's needed to determine True Love are the two parties believing? What if two people don't deal with the obstacles and drama that Snow and David did but meet, fall for each other, know about True Love and just agree that they are? Would they be unable to do the Kiss without all the external drama? I'm only asking because Regina is convinced that Daniel was her first True Love but we never saw any evidence in show (like a Kiss or something). We have no evidence that Regina and Robin are True Loves either as they explicitly stated that the pixie dust determined soulmates and that it was somehow different from True Love. But, if Robin gets hit with a Sleeping Curse, does this mean that Regina can wake him up based solely on their mutual belief that they are True Love? Or, do True Loves have to jump through all the hoops and prevail against the obstacles before they qualify? If it's the latter, that would really suck for the couples who love each other very much but were able to get together without the drama. -
I'm feeling weirdly positive about Emma's story now that I've seen the episode. When Regina was announced at the ball, they didn't say "Presenting The Savior: The Lady/Queen Regina". They explicitly called her The Savior and dropped her name completely. That makes me think that we just might get some exploration of how all the characters save Hook see Emma as The Savior first and foremost (to the point where I'm amazed they still remember her name is Emma). I've never been a Henry fan, not even in season 1, so I was bored with his scenes. I did find it interesting that Regina, when she saw him talking to Violet at the ball, briefly let The Evil Queen resurface before Percival interrupted. Regina is definitely going to be the mother who can't handle her son's relationship to the point that she'll actively work to sabotage it. I'm not interested in seeing it but moments like that tell me that the writing team (whole or part) is still aware that Regina's "redemption" is still in name only. Though it does amuse me that the first time we see Regina have to pay a price for magic comes after she's been transferred to Team Hero. I hate that no one calls her Snow anymore. It'd be one thing if Snow White was simply a nickname and her real name really was Mary Margaret but that's not the case. One is her name and the other was given to her when she was cursed for 28 years. No matter how much she loves Regina you'd think she'd still prefer to be called by her actual name. I knew it wouldn't happen but I was pulling for Robin's demise. He's an insult to the legend. I'm totally rooting for Dark Swan. The Savior was used and/or abused by most of the town without so much as a thank you while Dark Swan gets to speak her mind and relax. I know it's not going to last but I'll enjoy it in the meantime.

WHAT IS GOING ON????? Does the actress playing Nora want off the show? Are they going to reveal that her touching the third rail right after getting infected zaps the worms while keeping her alive? I am so confused! I was really looking forward to seeing Fet and Nora unfold onscreen and it seems to be no more. I also just had a horrible thought: Eph is going to survive the series now isn't he?

I do love a good Bring It On reference.

I didn't think we were supposed to see Emma as evil while Merida justified during their altercation. Merida admitted by episode's end that she'd been giving into the darkness inside her and that Emma's struggle against the Darkness reminded her that she can save her brothers and unite the clans without resorting to war. The Merida who was shooting at Emma was the one still intending to wage war against the other clans and the Emma who took her heart and almost crushed it had spent a couple of days (without sleep!*) being pressured to give into the Darkness. The Merida who admitted that she was giving into her own darkness is one I don't expect to shoot first anymore. I do think it's interesting that the Darkness was so strong in Emma that it was taking credit for mundane bits of magic. Teleporting and telekinesis are never presented as evil in other magic stories yet here they were because it was Emma tapping into the Dark magic consuming her. While I'm skeptical that her using magic to go to Camelot is a sign of her slipping down the Dark One rabbit hole, I do like how this underscores just how poor her magical education was in prior seasons.

I like retrograde's idea that they do something to her. Maybe it's the 5A Big Bad tricking them into it or maybe they do figure out how to remove the Darkness, get her to stop being the Dark One, and without killing her and SparkleDark steps in and manipulates Emma's perception so that she thinks that they've not only given up and are planning to kill/destroy her but that they're actively happy about it. If she thinks that they don't want save her/don't care about her anymore then I can see her giving up and embracing the Darkness as a way to deal with the pain. Her visual Dark One is the manifestation of her emotional walls without actually looking like walls so it's possible.

Molly Walker: She'd Be the World's Greatest Bounty Hunter
scarynikki12 replied to MarkHB's topic in Heroes [V]
The first thing I always think of when I think of Molly was when she revealed that she can find anyone, except one man because, "he can see me". That still scares the shit out of me. I've since blocked most of the post-season 1 stuff from memory so I can't remember if we ever found out who that man was. I feel like we did (season 2 maybe?) but I just can't remember. -
Spoilers & Speculation: Running Hot & Cold
scarynikki12 replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Legends Of Tomorrow
Good evening all! As of this moment, the Anticipation & Speculation thread is undergoing a change. It is now the Spoilers & Speculation thread and, as you've guessed, it is for everyone who wants to be spoiled and then talk about it. For anyone who wants to avoid spoilers but still speculate to your hearts content about what could happen with the Legends, head on over to our brand new Speculation Without Spoilers thread, found here. Thanks scarynikki12 and MarkHB -
This is for all the unspoiled speculation you can think of. The Anticipation thread is now converted to our Spoiler Discussion thread, so keep all spoiler based spec over there. Spoilers for the upcoming seasons of Arrow and Flash may not be discussed (each has its own spoiler thread) but the already aired seasons are fair game as far as forming speculation on what could come next for the characters. Cast interviews and con panels often contain spoilers so keep them in the Spoiler thread. Otherwise enjoy and send myself or MarkHB a PM with any questions. scarynikki12

Steve is also far more amusing, though not always on purpose.

Spoiler Discussion: The apple was poisoned?!
scarynikki12 replied to regularlyleaded's topic in Once Upon A Time
If it makes you guys feel better, I tend to be wrong when I predict stories for shows (unless it's really obvious). The Charming theory will likely not happen, though I stand by thinking Emma will kill random recurrings to demonstrate how evil she is now. -
Vampirism In The Strain: No Sparkly Blood-Suckers Here
scarynikki12 replied to Chip's topic in The Strain [V]
Del Toro and Hogan wrote the books with the idea of marrying folklore with science to explain the hows and whys. In vampire folklore, water is often a natural barrier, with the vampire in question needing assistance in order to cross. In this most recent episode we saw Eichorst arrange for passage across the water into Red Hook, even going so far as to insist that the boat owner be the one to transport them rather than just buy it outright and cross themselves. This lets viewers know that piece of folklore is holding true for this particular vampire story. Same with the dirt. A lot of folklore has variations on vampires needing soil from their homeland in order to properly rest or travel. Dracula's probably the most famous example (he lies in a coffin full of dirt from Transylvania while being transported to England) and most of the vampire stories that follow made a point to include something similar in homage to that story. -
Was Carteris really pregnant in season 3? I knew they wrote her season 4 pregnancy into the show, which I still disagree with to this day, but I had no idea about the other one. I always figured she'd needed leg surgery or something and they wrote in the hit and run to cover.

Tomorrow Today: Media & Behind The Scenes Of LOT

Start times for West and East coast are the same: 8pm, 9pm, and 10pm rather than the Central and Mountain 7pm, 8pm, 9pm. -
I think Vaun was the show's first attempt at Quinlan. I remember being both confused and delighted when he showed up last season, because I love Quinlan but he doesn't come into play until book 2. I was fine with the deviation, because Q is awesome and has a great arc but, with the team getting killed this season, and the show never actually calling him Quinlan before naming him Vaun, I now think the producers decided to split Q's character and opening story in two (maybe due to actor availability, maybe not). They gave Q's early story to Vaun, who piques our interest in the idea of other vampires working against The Master, brings Gus to meet The Ancients and into the larger mythology, and seems to be a sentient being. Then they kill him, giving book readers a group heart attack, letting him go out as a badass, giving The Master's team a win over the Good Guys without killing book characters too early, and then bring in Official Quinlan to fulfill the rest of his story. To answer your questions, I think we're meant to infer that Vaun was like Eichorst: a vampire who had been granted permission to be sentient from whichever Ancient turned him. His team were likely told by their sire(s) to follow his lead until further notice. In the books, Q is the only Born, there is no Vaun, and none of the vampires are actually sentient. The Master has a few, like Kelly, Bolivar, and a few Nazis, who he keeps close and can be called his "inner circle", but none are sentient. There isn't even a hint in the books that this is a power The Master or Ancients can grant. It's just for the show and makes sense to keep us engaged in the characters and their stories. I think Abe reading from that book about the legend of the Born is the show's way of letting us know that they won't be creating any besides Q. I'm curious as to whether or not they'll go into more detail on how Q became the Born, or if they're just going to trust viewers to put the pieces together. It seems a lot of people already have, so they might just let it be and focus on Q being a great warrior and ally to the humans. I was hoping the race for the Lumen would happen this season but I think they're delaying it for next. They seem to just be setting the foundation right now, with characters talking about it, Abe and Palmer both being aware, Eichorst's disappointment at not being The Master's new body foreshadowing the same happening with Palmer and the effect this has on Team Master getting the Lumen, and the city regaining some semblance of control against this plague to allow for the auction to even take place. I expect that the season might end with the reveal that the Lumen is going to be auctioned off and then the rest of book 2 will be followed in season 3. Of course, last year I thought book 1 would be split and the season would end with the reveal of The Master, so who knows?

Angel's a book character though his employers technically are original, as their book counter parts are already turned when we first meet him.

Amy wrote it, the movie's full of bits she's used in her stand up, with Apatow directing. My favorite part was the baby shower storytelling. It was actually a bit dirtier than the version she tells in her stand up and funnier as a result. I love that movie Amy was won over when that one lady revealed her threesome with her brother in law.

My favorite part of the episode is when they vote on the dance winners. Kelly is in the background screaming her head off for the other couple because she really, really, REALLY doesn't want to dance with David.

I got Hook, who I do like, but my actual favorite is Emma. Buzzfeed quizzes rarely guess correctly, at least for me.

Right now I'm enjoying the non-reader reactions to NewZack. Everyone comments on how horrible/mean/evil he is and it makes me laugh. Knowing where his story goes, I can't wait to read the reactions when it gets realized.

Any chance that was the Go Fuck Yourself choir from The Daily Show?

So if Quinlan just arrived, via a similar method as Dear Old Dad, then who the hell was interacting with Gus this whole time? Did they just split his character in two to give book readers a heart attack? They had to have known we'd think that guy was Q (though, to be fair, I don't actually remember if Other Vampire Guy was ever referred to as Quinlan by anyone besides readers).
