  1. That rolling pin is beautiful. If you take any to market, just tie a red ribbon around each one to suggest giving for Christmas! Unique, useful and lovely!
  2. I took it as a compliment. I long for the days that I used to be adorable!
  3. @Netfoot! That’s an awesome day! Even though you may have priced items on the low side (who’s to say), you can adjust pricing as you go along. That large flatter bowl on the lower left of the last pic would be a lovely centerpiece on a dining table. If you do this again, try to bring a couple of pieces of fruit to put in it so folks can get an idea. Then you can eat the fruit on the way home! More than anything, I’m so thrilled that others appreciate your craftsmanship as much as we do. If you do this again before Christmas, definitely wear a Santa hat! So glad it went well!
  4. Another thought…larger bowls could hold fruit and be a beautiful centerpiece on a table. Group smaller bowls together that hold cherished Christmas ornaments. Since Christmas is coming up, push the holiday and/or gift ideas.
  5. @Netfoot, the farmers market sounds like fun and good luck! Sometimes you need to give people ideas on how items can be used. For the bowls, jewelry, keys, candy, potpourri. Around here, chopping blocks for the kitchen are popular. If you have any spare knotted dog collars or knotted bracelets, take them along. I was at an art festival lately and a guy was selling knotted bracelets similar to yours and he had cute clasps on them. I wish I could remember what he was charging. Be your usual charming and witty self and I bet you have a good day! Bon chance and have fun with it.

Ladies may now wear darker colored underpants at Wimbledon. This is way overdue. https://www.cnn.com/2022/11/17/tennis/wimbledon-white-clothing-intl-spt/index.html
  7. Santa Paws episode: I was hoping for a presentation with either a doggie or kitty theme. I can’t remember who won but they were all ok. As always, the star of the show is when RBI came clomping out as a reindeer and had his hands curled up like hooves! ❤️ He is a million times more charming and entertaining than any of the poseurs on any FN show. And he has stellar baking and decorating skills. If I were a contestant, I’d grab his arm and whisk him away to a wine or martini bar for the afternoon.
  8. Happy birthday @Netfoot! 🎉🍾🎂 Thank you (and your pups, past and present) for being a witty and entertaining forum friend! I send you my very best wishes!
  9. I laugh my butt off when Walmart Ree criticizes any of them for a shortcut. Don’t get me wrong, I shop at Walmart every week. But she markets her cheap crap merch there, has a “cooking” show with tons of short cuts and gloop and then criticizes these bakers who bake and decorate rings around anything she could produce. Isomalt Granny should have stayed. BTW: Mrs Claus just texted me. Fondant should be banned from every cookie show.
  10. I hate two hour episodes. Aarti’s stylist must hate her. Jeff, if you want to pursue that stand up comedian gig, please leave FN. ASAP. No melon carving? 😡 I still hate the judges wandering around and giving comments throughout creation. I still hate that there’s no small taste and they have to do cake. We already have The Big Bake for that. The twists should be the tastes. TL:DR I hate this reiteration.
  11. Take care, @Netfoot! I too have to go dark every once in a while. Give Mo a kiss for us.
  12. Episode 4: Wow, what nerves on display by all four chefs! Don’t get me wrong…I’d be so nervous I’d probably chop several fingers off. But crikey! The skills tests were painful. I agree with the two they put through but they didn’t have much competition.
  13. After 15 minutes, I watched on mute. Between Ree’s annoying little girlie voice and the couples’ fake, forced nervous non-stop giggling at everything, I was about to lose my mind.
  14. Loved last night’s episode! Breaking news: RBI was adorable! He always has such fun. I want to be his friend and drink champagne with him. Really, all the entries were cute, especially the penguin tree and the winning Santa on the rooftop.
  15. Are you referring to Briea, the young lady who said she was recently married? I actually fell asleep at the beginning of the second hour. I see I didn’t miss anything. I am really tired of Aarti and have been tired of Jeff for a few years now. So after the theme is announced, I’ll be FF’ing until the end. Shinmin is very generous for returning to this watered-down version every year.
  16. I’m caught up and I’m so glad that Jonny with the huge blue eye tat on the top of his hand is gone. Tats don’t usually bother me, but that eye was creeping me out. Also, am I the only one that during the skills test when they had to pull the fat away from the kidney was thinking “oh dear, I wonder how much fat is around my kidneys?!” 😬
  17. My app will only let me watch episode 1 today but I have to say it was a delightful hour! I’ve missed those skill tests! I am unfamiliar with the new judge but I think I’m going to like her. The right person went home. Really, how much is performance on the skill test taken into account when they’re discussing who to eliminate? It seems to me that Welcome back, you wonderful show! ❤️ Looking forward to episode 2 tomorrow.
  18. A school in your area! I volunteer at our elementary school and I sponsor a candy basket for the staff in the school office. I can’t tell you how much the staff appreciates grabbing a sweet treat to get them through the day. I guarantee you that if you go into the staff office and offer leftover candy, they’ll love you. Maybe in the future you could put out the word in your neighborhood for others to do the same.
  19. Food Network GO https://watch.foodnetwork.com/video/cake-wars-food-network-atve-us/christmas-the-nutcracker its free but you do have to click on your satellite or cable provider
  20. In addition to the fact that not all surprise ingredients are created equal, I hate the “free for all” involved in grabbing an ingredient. Ready, set, elbow each other out of the way! But I, too, would prefer that each baker get the same ingredient.
  21. For anyone who wants to relive the glory days of this show, particularly the episodes with wonderful “where’s the bling” Charles Phoenix and Sherry Yard as judges, note that it was called Cake Wars Christmas back then. According to IMDB, it looks like he was a judge in 2015 and 2016. It has been entertaining watching those old episodes. Everyone had fun back then and the challenges were actually Christmas and/or winter theme related. It’s been said before, but I miss those larger sized displays.
  22. Do you save some sawdust for repairs? On a few shows that I watch, they brilliantly mix sawdust and wood glue to fill in for certain repairs.
