  1. Congrats Netfoot! You can do the job! Once they get to know you and see how capable you are, there’s no telling how many doors will open for you! 🥰
  2. So glad that the roadworthy visit went well and that Heidi was apparently not up to something sneaky!
  3. IMO, the actual citronella plant is more effective than a candle. You can put it/them in flower beds but I put them in pots and place strategically at the corners of the back porch. And it’s safe to break off some leaves and rub on you instead of using sprays.
  4. Oh Mozie! Calm the heck down! All that barking would distract me while driving.
  5. I’m so sorry there were no sales today. Was the market well attended today?
  6. Ok, Ellie is annoying. I don’t know why the producers of this show just HAVE to feature hosts who are as annoying as shit. And the wardrobe person should be shot for putting her in that ridiculous baby doll dress. It’s too soon for me to remember the teams or who might be the best. My streaming service got stuck while buffering during judging of the final challenge so I don’t know what happened at the end. I’ll go back to it tomorrow and see if it will play the ending.
  7. NNetfoot, as you know, I live in the south. I speak to almost everyone I see and I read repeatedly on this very website, not this exact Small Talk forum, that speaking to strangers is an obnoxious habit. I cannot fathom that. In fact, I quit those particular forums quite some time ago because of those opinions. This morning I ran to the grocery store for a few items. As I was walking in, two young people were coming out holding a bouquet of flowers. I said oh those are gorgeous! The young girl said thanks they’re for our mother! I replied she’s a lucky girl! The young girl beamed. Then as I was checking out at the store, I asked the lady checking me out how are you today? She said I am great, thanks for asking! It is my belief that people just need/want to be recognized and noticed. Also, being a southern girl, I tend to call everyone honey. That’s why I named my late great girl Honey…because I knew I would call her honey anyway! Some people think honey is a derogatory term. In my vernacular, honey correlates to a precious human being who deserves love and respect. A few mornings ago, I went to the grocery store super early because our heat index was in the upper 100s that day. I was so early that the three produce stockers were there. I appreciate these people so much who provide services to make our lives easier. So as I was shopping, I said good morning honey. Every single one of them looked up and smiled and responded. I can assure you that they didn’t take the term honey as an affront. I visit my Walmart at least once a week and I always exchange pleasantries with Robert who is a greeter upon entry and a receipt checker on the way out. I asked him once if he thought me saying honey was rude or condescending and he said no! He said he thought it was nice and made people feel that they mattered. I have many more examples but I think you get what I’m saying. So, Netfoot, I feel sorry for the girl who glared at you when you said good morning. It is my opinion that she will have an unfulfilled life if she can’t appreciate the people around her. She is no better than any one of us. In fact, it has been my experience that people young and old gravitate to others who speak with kind and welcoming words. I look forward to hearing what others on this thread think. For those of you who hate the term honey, as we say in the south, bless your heart!
  8. I’ve never heard of a grass skirt but it sounds tasty! Not to get too personal, but has Dr K said anything else about some testing? Weren’t they supposed to fit you in for a CT scan or MRI or something? Is it the out of pocket cost that is the issue?
  9. Have you seen Rocketman! The actor who played adult Elton should have won the Oscar. IMO, he was perfect. I think his name is Taron Egerton. And he did the singing. But the Academy had given the Oscar to Rami the previous year for Bohemian Rhapsody so there is speculation that they didn’t want to give it two years in a row for a biopic of a rock star.
  10. I read that sweethearts, stick tights, or burrs, whatever term you want to use were the inspiration for the creator of Velcro. His doggie kept getting them in his fur and the brilliant man’s mind eventually correlated burrs to Velcro!
  11. Batten down the hatches, Netfoot! Stay safe!
  12. I’m so relieved that I’m not the only one! 😂
  13. Nope! Still don’t get it! A wooden armadillo??
  14. Oh Lordy, Netfoot! Please don’t remind me of my younger days with that dirty martini! I have a headache just looking at the picture! 🤣 I thought I was so chic and sophisticated!
  15. I don’t own a toaster so couldn’t begin to put a price on the tongs. The Mudslide looks good but in a much smaller glass. If I’m going to have a drink with whipped cream on it, I prefer coffee drinks. Good luck at the market!
  16. The little chair is darling! I don’t know about the $50 price. I guess it depends on what use you suggest for it. So much work goes into making it that you do deserve $50. When I was little, I would have loved it to set my doll in. I was all about doll furniture! But I guess girls don’t play with dolls that much anymore. It’s all about electronics these days!
  17. Glad it’s fixed. PB ice cream sounds scrummy!
  18. Netfoot, that first link doesn’t work. But the other two sound great, especially the casserole.
  19. Ugh, sambuca and root beer together sounds horrendous to me! Shame on whoever thought that one up……however, I have had a “drink” that had potato chips in it! Way way back in my young days, we went to a “morning after Halloween party” breakfast at some friends house, got out the board games and the host started making blender drinks. He was just throwing in a tad of this booze and a tad of that fruit in the blender and the second batch he had thrown in some potato chips! Gotta say, it wasn’t that bad! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Netfoot, I think we’re giving people the wrong impression of me! My party days are much tamer now!
  20. I’ve never heard of Ellie but she can’t be worse than who we’ve had recently. I was surprised to learn from the article that Tom Kerridge was a past presenter! I like him and will have to find those old episodes.
  21. Cheers, Netfoot! That Hemingway Special sounds mighty tasty! I’ve never had anything with maraschino liqueur in it. I’m visiting friends in another state and last night had a light, refreshing lemony drink that had hints of a lemon pie. I mentioned that to the bartender who said it had just a tad of a whipped cream vodka! Now I know there are many flavored vodkas now, but whipped cream? It was delicious!
  22. You had me at Gimlet. 🍸 Every Breath You Take always spooked me. A stalky song. Off to make a gimlet now!
