@Browncoat, so glad you’re home safely! I hope your congestion is over soon. Your trip sounds wonderful. I am a golf fan and would have loved St Andrews. Oh my, the weather sounds fabulous…you really went at the perfect time. And all that history and natural beauty. I really hope we get to go next year. Did you try the haggis? Did you get any interesting items to bring home? I would love to look for a wool sweater with pretty thistles woven into a design. I was reading a fictional book set in Scotland and one of the characters went Christmas shopping and bought a beloved aunt a sweater like that. For some reason, that has stayed in my head all these years and I thought “how pretty!” 🤣 You have certainly sold me on my decision to get global entry. I’m glad I’ve got that taken care of. And I never check luggage. As I tell my friends, “it ain’t a fashion show” so I alternate garments every other day, hand washing as needed. Thank you for your trip report! On the advice of a friend who had been, I used the Wimbledon debenture holder website. I seem to recall that you click on the day/event you want, send them your firstborn (ha!) and credit card, and then you get whatever seats they give you. Short of going out there and camping out the night before, this site guarantees genuine tix and not bogus ones. I’m not saying there aren’t genuine tix on resell sites, but this one is the real thing. You get assigned a client rep who answers all questions. If I had it to do over again, I would choose one of the earlier days of play. I was SO freaking sure that Roger would be in the finals that I threw caution to the wind. 😥 They used to have a ticket lottery but thanks to COVID, stopped that in 2020. This is the only reason I keep paying for overpriced DirecTV. For all the golf and tennis majors, they open up channels 901-907 and you can choose the match you want to watch or, if you’re like me, I’ll sometimes leave it on 901 and get all the matches on one screen. For golf, they’ll do the same thing except instead of matches, it’s featured groups. Also, DirecTV still airs Bally’s sports channels, which my MLB and NHL teams games are on. So they have me by the crosshairs. In addition to Coco and Iga, I was surprised Brooksby lost.

I’m thinking that I Shan and JoJo will be in the finals. And maybe the team that arrived late due to illness. I’ve already forgotten who is going through from the first group! Benoit’s facial expressions are always funny but he especially cracked me up this recent episode. I’m still so happy that Tom is gone.

Netfoot, don’t forget to replace electrolytes when it’s super hot. Water doesn’t always provide enough hydration. I personally like Gatorade Zero. It seems to be lower in sugar/carbs than regular Gatorade or other similar drinks, so always look at the label. About 2 years ago, I had an overnight stay in hospital when I wasn’t feeling well. Come to find out, I needed a few bags of potassium chloride via IV. I apologize if I’ve mentioned this before! The person who used to post the FN ratings hasn’t been on the thread for quite some time. I do miss seeing (and shaking my head) at the ratings. Regarding canned food, I doubt I would eat anything with a BB date of 2015 or 2017. You could open it and sniff and look at it if it’s still under consideration but I don’t think it’s worth the risk! I think you’re stressing too much about where Mo is sleeping. In a relatively short period of time (a few months), Honey went from sleeping on the bed with me, to on her bed on the floor in my room to another bed of hers in the den. She finally decided she liked sleeping on her bed in the den the best and for years, that was it. No amount of coaxing to return to my room made her change her mind. Dogs are funny. She was the boss so I just let her sleep where she wanted! Bean soup is a particular favorite of mine. Although I associate it with cooler weather, I may go ahead and soak some dried beans for soup this week. I like to put diced smoked sausage or ham in mine. Maybe put a dollop of chow chow on top. Yum.sometimes I’ll throw in some freshly wash greens. My favorite is turnip greens but I never met a green I didn’t like! And I cook it all together in a combination of water and homemade chicken stock. See what you started, Netfoot, I won’t be happy until I fix my bean, sausage, greens soup. I can assure you I won’t be sharing with anyone! .
