  1. I think I’ve seen at least one pic of his wife and 3 boys on his IG. Correction: he has a pic on IG of the boys lined up to watch GBBO. Don’t see a pic of his wife.
  2. Noel and Matt were *this close* to ruining the season for me. Their cringy, childish, “look at me, aren’t I funny” antics pissed me off to no end. I will definitely be using the mute button more often on the holiday special and for seasons to come. The Netflix trailer for the holiday episode looks like it’s Matt and Tom Allen as hosts so I may actually lose my mind. This show used to be about darling bakers in a charming, idyllic country setting. Not about a couple of ridiculous, attention-hungry idiots who try to steal the show. That being said, I was happy for Giuseppe. And yes to Chigs and Crystelle saving humanity by hooking up and having blindingly gorgeous offspring.
  3. There’s a chef in episode 11 with knuckle tats. Ugh. Speaking of which: episode 11:
  4. I forgot that this forum existed! Yes, I am watching and am fascinated with what they do with gingerbread. You rarely see a collapse like we saw on the last episode. I’m glad they’ve done away with having the tasting element in the middle of the bake and the winner of that segment gets to ring the bell and suspend construction for the other teams for X minutes. I never cared for that.
  5. Although there are too many Kleenex moments for me to count since season 1, the scene that always has me crying Niagara Falls (and they didn’t show it in the special) is when Sister Julienne finds the thalidomide baby left alone next to an open window on a chilly evening to die alone. This was at a medical facility! She is appalled, closes the window, tenderly holds the baby and prays over it. The look on her face as she tended to the baby was so raw and real. 😭
  6. The rocket ship was the cleanest of the three but IMO, it is a cop out to do such a large piece without several enchanting figures. They had a (well-done) window with small Santa looking out and was there just one elf? I really should post when the episode is fresh in my mind! One of them had amazing figures—was that the helicopter piece that looked like it had crashed? I watch so many of these type of shows that I get them twisted sometimes! But I do like this show very much! I, too, wonder why it’s on so late. I do DVR it and watch later, mainly so I can skip the commercials, especially anything with Ree’s face on it. Also, I do like that the surprise twists aren’t ridiculous and the judges almost always get it right.
  7. One thing’s for sure—when Eddie’s on camera, I’m for damn sure not looking at his glasses!
  8. After Marilyn got screwed by getting the butter churner, I was glad she did well enough in the second round to not get eliminated. She had a better attitude about getting that than I would have had. Nancy is almost as orange as Geoffrey Zakarian.
  9. Too freaking adorable! 🥰🥰 Dr. K is going to start scheduling all sorts of unnecessary appointments just so she can see him!
  10. Extend this statement to every facet of life and I’ll agree with you! But we’re venturing off topic and the mods should (rightly so) give a warning.
  11. I wonder if the Turners will step in as Nancy’s daughter’s foster family? Or maybe they’ll introduce a new family to refresh the show’s dynamic.
  12. Right after they got engaged, someone on a show (don’t remember if it was The Kitchen) told Alex that emerald is one of the softer gems and scratches easier than a lot of other gems. She was surprised and did not know that. I guess that she takes off her ring so it doesn’t get all gunky with food and so it doesn’t get scratched.
  13. Each team had a recognizable participant—-Janet, Karina and Tina! Tina was just on Halloween Wars! Loved the snowball fight! Those elves and the Clauses were adorable. I LOL’d at Eddie and the other guy doing the funky chicken. So cute! I want to say that Janet was on the gingerbread showdown a year or so ago.
  14. You buried the lead story in all of this! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, NETFOOT, 🎉🎈🎂 Did your vet recommend using Off on Mo? I have read that dogs are sensitive to DEET and the product could cause neurological problems like seizures and also vomiting, especially if he licks himself. Please read the label and do research. I know that there are pet-friendly mosquito sprays if that’s the pest he’s having problems with. I did a google search and found many statements to not use it on pets. Yes, I’m being bossy again, but I just am wary of using people products on a pet, especially one as small as Mo.
  15. @TVbitch, the episodes of CITA that I refer to are ancient! It would surprise me if you ever stumble on one of those old episodes. But it was comfort viewing back in the day. And Jonty was quite dashing. Probably still is. Yeah, I am not a fan of ear gauges. But John is so calm and focused. I’m keeping my pretend boyfriend options open. We’ve had some real cuties in the past! I look at Jay Rayner’s IG occasionally and he is such a hoot. He has a jazz quartet and he plays piano.
