The only FN shows I watch these days are the various seasonal competitions, so I haven’t seen the commercials. Glad the carvers are back but the return of Zak sucks. I’ll watch the first episode and will evaluate from there. I’m just sick of FN’s crappy programming and how they ignore viewers’ comments. They took two charming shows, Halloween Wars and Holiday Wars, and destroyed them for no good reason!

You had me at corned beef and cabbage! 😛 Even though my mom was a really wonderful cook, she boiled the crap out of cabbage. I prefer it either browned as you indicated or when boiling, turn off the pan as soon as it comes to a boil. I like a little texture to it. And if corned beef isn’t around, smoked sausage is a yummy substitute. I usually have smoked sausage in the freezer. A local restaurant periodically has as a weekly special corned beef, cabbage and bread pudding. But my bread pudding is better than theirs. Don’t you love it when you like something you make better than how a restaurant does it!

Could they install speed buttons on the road a few yards before the stop signs? This would hopefully make drivers slow down as they drive over the buttons and as they approach the stop. And I’m not necessarily referring to those obnoxious speed slabs.

I’m a huge fan of Antiques Roadshow UK and over the years they’ve showcased pieces of purplewood. I had never heard of it before. That show is an incredible history and cultural lesson. Very underrated and under appreciated. I’ve watched it since I was cute, young, skinny chick. In other words, decades ago! 🤣

I used to watch Judge Judy and I think she’d say that the blue car did a slow roll thru the stop sign. If the driver had come to a complete stop, they have seen the truck coming from the right. The truck had the right of way at the intersection, unless he had a stop sign that I didn’t see. Miracle that they’re ok!

According to Mr. Google, Morton’s purchased the Season-All brand from McCormick’s. A quick search shows it is indeed now Morton’s Season-All. I don’t know if they changed the ingredients. You might see if your stores carry the Morton’s version. Looks like my Sam’s has it in stock.

I, too, will miss Sir Nick. I was surprised to see how emotional and choked up he was.I wish he’d return to do a major once in a while, like The Open.

I was born and raised and still live in what is arguably the most football-rabid part of the country. I went to high school and college games to oogle boys and later was dragged to Cowboy games when Landry was coach. When he was let go in Jerry’s usual trashy fashion, I divorced football and haven’t missed it one bit! On topic: I can’t imagine there’ll ever be another to rival what Serena has done. I’m not a particular fan of hers, but have huge respect for her. I do think Joker will surpass Roger’s win total but will never come close to garnering the respect and adulation that Roger has.

And Roger is in an individual sport! But time and the wear and tear are catching up. 😥

Yes, I use a bees wax on my chopping boards. I believe it is from Boos Board, a very popular high-end maker of chopping boards. My boards are not from Boos— just the bees wax!

Is the wax finish that you use food safe? With a lid, that would be a great salt container. A lot of chefs will just reach in a container to grab the amount of salt they need rather than use a shaker.

The young lady who is the host has an annoying over-laugh after every single comment someone makes.

That bowl is gorgeous! Very impressive!

Although I wasn’t really blown away by any of the showpiece entries, I think Nathan and Kevin deserved the win. Their treats looked great and the design was effective. I Shan and JoJo came up short yet again. Their horse sculpture was impressive but the treats didn’t wow the judges. And I don’t know what happened to Jemima and Zack. She was snippy with him then cut herself. That sheep sculpture was odd. I think maybe I held a bit of a grudge against them because they missed the very first competition then sailed through to the final. Although Liam and Stacey aren’t the best hosts, they were a much more palatable team than Liam and Tom, so there’s that! I hope Benoit and Cherish are back next season.
