I don't hate alpha males but I dislike double standards like--->Ok for alpha males to cry for trivial reasons and not ok for beta males to cry for real reasons. I don't think I actually said my personal beliefs about crying in general and was pointing out something that did not seem rational (the double standard) imo. For me it is a case by case basis and I really didn't care about any of them crying in private. I liked that Stephen actually stopped and touched on how ridiculous it was for him to cry about not swaying everyone to vote for Joe awhile back (he was aware that it was silly and it was just that he was frustrated). They are all human and have strengths and weaknesses. I thought it was pathetic, yet nice at the same time, that someone got teary over being away from family for a couple weeks but who am I to judge--maybe they are more needy and dependent than I am--I'm ok with them crying for reasons valid for them even if the reasons seem "weak" for me. I believe both alphas and betas cry about family and that is why the family visits are often annoying for me. I like balance people and for example, Jeremy who is alpha seems balanced---can be "weak" and cry (if that is concerned weak) and it's ok. Someone who is always strong doesn't seem balanced. The terms "strong" and "weak" are not the best descriptors imo. I don't think people should bottle emotions up in themselves and they should release them at appropriate times (channel them into competitions, or cry when alone or scream when alone or paint, exercise, etc). Jeremy and Fish going off alone to cry is fine and I see no difference between the to expect imo Fish had a better reason to cry whereas others may think savage and jeremy had better reasons. I've probably contradicted myself in all of this but basically if it is ok for one person to cry then it is ok for another to cry. I think we disagree on reasons and I wondered if you excused the alphas since they were alphas since their reasons for crying seemed "weak". I thought you were pro-alpha. I am alpha-neutral unless faced with a pro-alpha or anti-alpha double standard imo.

I love the competency and enthusiasm J/D (Team Green) show for the race and hope they win. They may not be as ruthless and cut throat as the others (since they chose C/L for the road block) but they have the skills to offset their niceness. He reminds me of a rambunctious big puppy--enthusiastic and friendly. Sure he is loud but he seems like a good guy. I liked her giving fake tattoos to the children and it makes sense they reflected their country (if someone from another country came here to the states and gave me a fake tattoo from their home country I wouldn't bitch about it being a non-american tattoo). J/D can do nothing right since no matter what they do, so many people say hateful things. I have to remind myself that most people like underdogs and if you are good at something then that often brings out negative comments. Team Green (J/D) FTW! I was disappointed that the the reporters complained about being #2 when they were lucky that their "friends" (whom they bitch about) could have been strategic and u-turned them but instead helped them. They went down a little in my mind but I still like them better then the whiny lying cheerleaders who flirt to get ahead (don't mind the flirting but I wish they didn't have to rely on it so much). I did feel horrible that they were harassed (ripped balloon nets and creepy guys near them….not to mention they could have been hurt if someone walking under the rope and pulled it or snagged it causing her to fall with the candelabra). The less said about the paparazzi the better….they shouldn't have lied the prior episode hence their u-turn. I always enjoy seeing the legs in India. I just wish it had been daytime since it was hard to see everything with it being dusk and night for most of the episode.

sounds like Stephen had real reasons to cry whereas the others had pitiful reasons to cry! I am not even a Stephen fan. So 5 tears aren't crying, what about 10, 20, 100. I understand "context" and it sounds like crying over a lame context, or reason, is ok (missing your perfect model wife or pregnant wife after being away from them a few weeks is "tough" and ok) whereas crying about freezing, hungry, diarrhea, cramps, dehydration, and near-Trench feet that are swollen, painful and infected is "weak". I suspect there is some bias if that is crying because one is a pansy whereas hero savage or hero jeremy (alpha males) crying means sensitive manly man who is a family man and tough and his masculine tears are just evidence of his all powerful love for his woman and since he loves a woman he is a man so he can shed a few tears and still be a man… whatever, I need to step away

If Stephen is weak because he cried due to emotional/psychological/physical pain then I guess both Andrew & Jeremy are also weak because of crying due to emotional/psychological pain. There is probably a correlation between emotional/psychological/physical "strength" and crying (physically showing the emotional/psychological/physical distress) but I don't think it is a cut and dried causation. Fishbach was entertaining but his game was messy--he was so obvious about his tight 4 alliance, he was oblivious to the prior vote where almost everyone voted against him yet next time around he splits the vote (he did nothing, per editing, to counteract the prior votes against him yet he thought they wouldn't try to vote him out again), etc….by messy game, I mean, bad strategy or ineffectively applied strategy. However his drama was entertaining and these past two episodes which are fish-centric were some of the best two hours of Survivor.

I like the physical challenges and was fascinated by Kelley seeming like she was going to bite Joe. It reminded me of HvH without the dislocated shoulder, broken toe, and shirtless sugar (lol). I thought for sure, Abi would try to choke someone but she didn't. I like how those physical challenges can often show the strength of some of the "weaker" tribe members--like that season (can't remember which) where they had to hold onto a post and 2 opposing tribe members had to pull them off it and across a line. There were two females who would great--one had a death grip on the post and one was great at dragging another female to the line (I wish I was better at remembering names and seasons).

Strange but I just noticed that Spencer has a gorgeous face. I always liked his easy to read dramatic facial expressions but just noticed is gorgeous bone structure. The kid has a great face.

she so boring that most of this thread is about her first time on Survivor or about other people who played with her…lol. I don't think she cares about her fans and I guess that doesn't matter. She might be better suited for a show like The Island which is more about survival but not that exact show because it involves interacting with other people and the producer (Bear McGryls [sp?]) seems to fake stuff.

Now I am hoping the boot list is wrong about the (w). After Jeremy's last two TC, I no longer want him to win. I like him but Spencer and Kelley have played better imo and have not had an easy ride.
-
Remember when Jeremy said no one liked Savage. I think he said that on the episode where he was commenting on Savage leaving (or the one where he talked about why he had him as a shield). I thought it was quite a statement about how annoying/pompous Savage is when even his "friend" said no one liked him. But in Savage's mind he is a cool kid that everyone wants to hang with rather than a shield a la Abi. LOL

Ciera gave Spencer all the credit for targeting Stephen…that's basically what she told Stephen at Ponderosa. I still like Ciera and think she was a great addition to this season. I didn't root for her on her prior season but I enjoyed her this season. She majorly impacted the game--she was one of the catalyst for the blindside of Savage (YAY Ciera!) and she saved Spencer (YAY Ciera). Major props to her for playing the game hard and for being entertaining (unlike waste of space wiggles). She made moves and played well imo even if she didn't win.

I guess Russell, Pav, and Tony's multiple idols stand out in my memory. If I was currently on Survivor, Jeremy's use of an idol would not make sense so I would question it in my mind (I think I would). I guess it doesn't matter since they usually assume everyone has an idol (except Kelley, lol).
-
Maybe Spencer wants Jeremy in the game to help take out Joe and as a shield. Switch the names and it still works (keep Joe in as a shield and to take out Jeremy) however I think Jeremy maybe more loyal/logical/strategic and less likely to win competitions than Joe. Both Joe and Jeremy have to go, from Spencer's point of view, and it makes sense to split up a pair/trio by removing Stephen and then aligning with them to suit his needs…then cut them (except keep Tasha since she would be easier to win against). Would anyone play their ONLY idol for someone else when they have multiple allies and a lot of game still left? Seriously, does anyone in the game not suspect Jeremy of having another idol? I don't understand why Jeremy used one of his idols on Stephen unless it was to cement Stephen's vote at the end and to look flashy to the jury a la Natalie. But doesn't he worry that the others will suspect him of having another idol since he threw his away in a flashy unnecessary move with so much game left (Natalie didn't need hers anymore on his first season but he still needs one so obviously he has another one unless he is playing dumb with them all). I'm fine with Stephen winning but it seems so obvious that it is almost a let down for such an awesome season. A more surprising win by Kelley or Spencer would be great. Any of those three would be fine imo.

I can see Spencer wanting to sit next to Tasha and Kimmi at the FTC.
-
I think Spencer (who everyone says is very intelligent) will play off targeting Stephen as "he was to close to you and I worried that the 3 of you (including Tasha) would exclude me or are using me". Basically something like he wanted to take Stephen's place and they were too similar to both stay in the game (they have the same "role"). That all can be the excuse while he covertly works with Joe (and Tasha??) to get Jeremy out. I hope Spencer is paranoid enough to realize Jeremy must have another idol since he wasted one on Stephen (which Spencer can also use as the "jealous friend" or threat against me). People don't waste idols on friends who are less of a threat when there is so much game left to play. I'm having a hard time saying what I want to say. Sorry for the wordiness. Essentially, I hope Spencer is playing Jeremy and playing to win rather than playing for 2nd place. I can see how Spencer could explain his actions to Jeremy but we won't know until it all plays out.

true and why should Cierra care about wiggles birthday when wiggles didn't care enough to give a decent welcome to Cierra when she arrived.
-
Spencer really should work to get Tasha on his side, if she isn't already. For any chance of Spencer winning, Jeremy has to go to Ponderosa. I am sure Spencer knows this. I find the Spencer & Joe and Spencer & Tasha relationships interesting. I find this season fascinating and I am loving the fluid voting blocks (not the same as floating since they are impacting the game and not just going with the flow--not toeing the party (alliance) line. Despite me liking Jeremy, Spencer remains my favorite. I would be happy with either one winning.
-
I like Kass, Cierra and Stephen in these Ponderosa videos. Wiggles seemed like she was buying into Andouche's high school mentality given her tepid greeting for Cierra. Stephen's surprise at finding out Spencer was the one targeting him was great. I'm happy that Kass, Cierra and Stephen don't seem bitter. Kass's olives comment was cute.

who was/is Jeff's girlfriend? So he hooked up with a former Survivor contestant? I assume it was after the show aired.

Did she get 3-4 make up artists fired or is that just a rumor? A fake tattoo doesn't cause pneumonia.

S22.E15: Finale Part 1: The Girl Who Made A Splash
Vicky8675309 replied to OnceSane's topic in America's Next Top Model [V]
I must of seen that or a similar documentary or report. It was many years ago and I just remember there was division/controversy in the deaf community about it. I was left with the feeling (or my opinion) that if one chooses to remain deaf then stop bitching about it and expecting others to adapt to one's choice. Is it a disability if one chooses to keep it (when treatment is available)? I just remember walking away (actually it would be more like limping away) feeling negatively about deaf people who choose to remain deaf yet expect accommodations to be made for them. I felt positive about deaf people who aren't deaf by choice (they don't have treatment options) and am pro-accommodations for them. I read the wiki page on Sound & Fury and got a laugh out of the 6 year follow up~~it made me smile. I have no idea if Nyle is a candidate or not for surgical intervention. It was just that his views on deafness reminded me of that controversy and my opinions on it. Also I don't think Nyle's has bitched about his deafness and think it is editing that makes it seem like that is all he talks about. It has been relevant several times and should be talked about at those times however, just like with Mickey's poverty, Mame's parents, Lacey's body images, it is repeated over and over again and again ad nauseam. -
bummed that this fun show has ended. Charity & Philip were great in their roles and I wish them all much success in future endeavors.

Is there anyone who doubts Jeremy will win? It seems so obvious. Just look at the alliances, voting blocks, other players, his social & strategic game and two HIIs (that no one knows about--very smart). I'm happy if he wins since he has played a good game but the season would be more interesting if his win wasn't so obvious.

S22.E15: Finale Part 1: The Girl Who Made A Splash
Vicky8675309 replied to OnceSane's topic in America's Next Top Model [V]
boring episode. Mickey is the best model but Nyle will win. I'm ok with that. Thanks to the poster who had the link to Mickey wiki page which has some references that show that he really is a good model. I think he should look into acting. He seems to have the charisma (based on how others interact with him) and looks that would do well in hollywood (if he can act). All the edits and manipulation on this show are so obvious. Everyone should check out the show Unreal. In the beginning Nyle was one of my favorites but then he mentioned, early on, something about preferring to be deaf and not wanting to hear. Then to have so much focus on his deafness (more than Mame's growing up without parents, Mickey's poverty and family in prison, Lacey being normal sized virgin christian) when he had earlier said something that seemed pro-deaf or anti-hearing. Aren't their sub communities of deaf people who ostracize the hearing impaired who get cochlear implants and/or use medical advances to gain hearing? Regardless, it made me root for him less than before. I can see how most people would love the Nyle based on his edit but his edit annoys me. However he is a good model. The contestants background and all this non-model stuff really shouldn't matter but it's not like the show is showing their photos or much of the photo shoots. Based on the edit of this season and based on who won that other reality show (PR), it seems like Nyle will win. I'm happy with that since he is gorgeous and can get great pictures. I think Mickey is the best model (check out the links on his wiki page) and would prefer him for the win. I think all 4 of them are good models. -
I totally agree with you and was just posting about a thought that popped into my head. I wonder if she even consciously using this as a strategy (I don't think so). I see Jeremy as winning and would be ok with that since he has played a great social and strategic game however I would hope that the others would clue into this (heck, Ciera pointed it out incase any were blind to it). I'm hoping (but doubtful) that Spencer and some of the others will do something about it. It has to be soon otherwise he will be to protected by idols and they won't have numbers. Yeah, Jeremy has this game on lock down. Good for him but I hope it isn't that predictable. I maybe wrong and someone could win but I don't see how that would happen. It just seem obvious that if joe doesn't win the IC then joe should go but if Joe wins the IC then Jeremy should go. However people see him as an ally and worry about their numbers (shifting voting blocks could help). Don't get me wrong, I like Jeremy and Joe but the other players should realize they can't win against them. Anyway, Abi will likely get very far in the game, imo, but like Russell Hantz (except she probably isn't strategic…at least not on purpose) she most likely won't win at the end (I guess that is why is is a goat) due to her crappy social game. She has "picked" almost all of the boots, created drama, and delivered some hilarious lines. I'm liking her more than I did early in the game and have to give her props for her contributions to this season. Plus she impressed me at the last IC. It's sad the women ("3 witches") aren't valued/respected for their contribution to the game. Maybe some of the others respect them but the editing doesn't show it. If those 3 made it to the end, and any of them won then I wouldn't be upset. I wouldn't be upset if one won against other players but I don't see it happening. Earlier in the season I hadn't seen their contributions to this season's game but now I have.
