Well I was surprised. I seriously thought Richard would win to support him being elevated to judge on the regular Top Chef. I've never been that excited about CJ, he has always seemed a little second string to me but I am happy for him, I guess.

I assume that Korina and the others are bound by their contracts to come back if they are asked to appear after they are out of the competition, so I wonder what if any consequences there were for her not participating--or maybe she fulfilled her contract by bringing the drama once again.

I was holding my breath today for fear Whoopi would somehow find a way to defend Stephen Collins and tell us "we weren't there".

I think Adam and Pharell are going to have to lose some good people in the battles so that Blake will hopefully be able to pick up some adult singers that way.

They are taking too many kids. I know Danielle Bradbury did it, but I really just find the really young ones so much less interesting to watch than a singer who has some life experience.

I think if they were going to do a design off they should have sent the judges out to a lovely lunch and given the 2 designers two hours but no helper and you would have seen a different runway. If Char had to do a dress by herself we would not have seen the dress she presented and if Korina could have moved past the anger and put that energy into working instead of vomiting bile for an hour she might have had something presentable. The helper thing totally skewed the outcome. Korina showed her ass on national tv and she should be embarrassed but because she has a big ego, I doubt it will make a dent in her conciousness. She IS probably a better designer than Char, but she would not have been in the top 2 no matter what. She just has not been that good in the previous challenges to warrant the ego or attitude. Char probably deserved to stay simply for a good can-do attitude and showing some gratitude for a second chance. She maintained her composure til she got off the stage and didn't let the judges see her break. Good on her. Now she needs to go next. She's had more than a fair chance.

I know this probably isn't the case---the show was probably in the can before it started airing, but the final episode seemed like somewhere maybe around episode 8---probably around the time they started moving the time on the schedule, and doubling up episodes, they realized it wasn't a big hit, and they decided "we need to wrap this sucker up" so they started moving quickly toward an ending--dropping off the subplots they could not realistically wrap up. It felt like there should have been a couple more episodes before the last one to flesh out some key things that happened at the end, but somehow they ran out of time. I liked the way Ethan's story line ended, but I'm very sorry not to see some more about the rich guy's quest for eternal life and what happens to the offspring. I am betting that Halle won't do another season. And she got extensions recently so the forelock is gone--she has long hair again.

The Countess was on WWHL the other evening and she said she had run into Ramona and Sonja at some club before she came to the show and they asked to be seated at another table (away from her)---she laughed and said "whatever!" I had a feeling Bethenny would be back. I just hope Jason has something in place so she can't film their kid. She doesn't deserve to have to be on.

I had a feeling this was going to happen. I'm fine with her being on the show but I hope they don't film her kid or talk about her divorce.

I don't pretend to know a lot about music, but they picked a lot of singers who really didn't sing very well tonight. Even I can tell if someone is off pitch or having trouble with breathing. Maybe they sound better in person, but I felt like they coaches picked a lot of people so they'd have someone to flush away during the battles.

Lizzie's new hair somehow makes her look a bit smarter. I really mostly watch for the moment in each show where Red casually kills someone like he is squashing a bug. wtf has Mary Louise done to her face, if I didn't know she was on the show this season I would not have known her.

I think the only hope for drama is if there is a big reaction to Derrick piling up extra money being part of AT while the others ddn't get that. Too bad the other finalist won't know ahead so he/she can work out how to play that.

I knew seeing Whoopi and Billy without Robin Williams was going to be sad, but seeing her cry just broke my heart. Robin's death has touched so many people--it just breaks my heart that someone so loved went the way he did. I have heard a lot of stories about how crazy he could be, but honestly, I've never heard a story about him doing anything to hurt anyone....except himself--ever. I enjoyed both his comedy and his dramatic work, and I'll miss him. And what a lovely man Billy Crystal is. I watched his HBO special about his love of his hard-working father, and it was absolutely beautiful. He's been a good husband, a great father, and he's had a wonderful, diverse career---I enjoy anything he does. It feels so weird to me to be looking forward to this show. I work from home and have some talk or news show on in the background all day--and usually the View was hit or miss for me--I watched mostly to gawk at the train wreck it's been for the past couple of years--and this week, I'm actually looking forward to the show. I like all of the hosts--I think for being hired so quickly and not having much time to gel as a team, they are doing great. There has been more meaningful content in this one week than I can remember in the past two years. Rosie O with the little singer was adorable. Nobody relates to kids like Ro. I think she's done some really good work this week with her one on one with Barbra, and some of the segments she's led. They've all done a good job--and now this is a show I'll watch my dvr of when I am not able to see it live--I used to just delete the recording if I didn't hear of some dumb snark-worthy thing happening.

I think that in her past, Whoopi has been through some situations in her personal life that led her to be publicly criticized, and I feel like that has led her to choose to defend people who are in unpopular situations---that her "we don't know" "we weren't there" come from times where she's been in a situation where she did not think she was doing anything wrong and suddenly she was in the news (I'm thinking of things like the Ted Danson blackface thing) and so she tends to pick what she considers to be the underdog, because that's who she identifies with. I really think the general tone of discussion has massively improved--and Whoopi is going to either learn to debate effectively or she won't end up being very happy. It's a new situation and she will need to change with the new structure. I generally like her and respect her talent so I hope she "gets" it. It's a world away from having to deal with Sherri and Jenny every day. Btw....Sherri was on Wendy WIlliams today discussing the new View like an elder statesman....throwing a big of shade at Rosie O.

I think Whoopi is paying more attention to the new crew than she has in a while. She finally has some women who actually have something intelligent to say and it seems like she is more involved. I feel like Rosie O is the one who is reigning herself in --she seems to be more reserved than she usually is, and I don't think that is a bad thing--it's not the Rosie O'Donnell show, it's a group effort. I felt like Nicolle is trying to participate more today, and I kind of enjoyed her mentioning she's not a performer when she talked about stand-up--it is different for her than all the others. Rosie Perez is just a natural--she seems like she's been doing this for years. She has a lot of different life experiences, and something to say and she does it really well.

I thought it was better than I expected. They all seemed a little nervous--but that's to be expected on their first time out. Whoopi seemed happy and at ease, Rosie O seemed a little tense to me--but I think she's very aware of the talk of her kind of taking over, so she was managing herself carefully. Loved Rosie P and I enjoyed Ms Wallace. I think the new studio seems really small and intimate. I kind of miss the big table --it seems more comfy to sit at than the setup they have now. I know Rosie O likes game shows but I hope they don't do too many of them with the audience. I think it may take a couple of weeks to let them settle in and relax with each other, but so far it was ok for me. Huge improvement over the past cast. The tribute to Joan made me sad even though it's been a week or so. Glad they acknowleged her--she was on so often.

I've thought this for a while, but now I know for sure, Jeff wears more makeup than Jordan. You know the engagement is doomed when he picks a reality show to propose. I can't believe how nasty that room was. Their mothers are probably so embarrassed.
