  1. I liked this line. Same, unfortunately. And I've never had anyone else say this and agree with me. I once said this to my mother, a devout Buddhist, and she was so offended! LOL! She's charming and cute. When Dorinda was describing Sonja looking dead on the chair, Tinsley's way of falling over laughing really reminded me of my friends. I really do miss Jules. Somebody said Adam is goodlooking, and just with all due respect he looks so malnourished. I get why he and Carole like themselves and each other and that's nice for them.
  2. I know that the hair is a touchy subject on this show. But I think Tinsley would actually really benefit from cutting her hair. I normally am all about long hair but I Googled pictures of Tinsley and she's had the same look forever. It was interesting when Carole said "DOES she want to reinvent herself? Or just keep living the same old life?" I started picturing Tinsley with a shorter, chicer, brunette cut. Fully admitting I probably stole the idea from Luann like Bethanny did. Tinsley's look is so 2000s. I won't even get into Ramona she's a lost cause. But Tinsley's definitely not. Sorry, I can't get on board with anyone painting Carole. For goodness sakes! Is there any human skin even left on her? I was a little sad when Dorinda said she didn't like being naked. This is so superficial but I truly wonder if Dorinda and Luanne know how beautiful they are.
  3. Oh my god. You're freaking me out. I worked with a woman like this before. I get this
  4. See, I never just did things just to do them, c'mon I mean, what I'm gonna do just all of the sudden just jump up and grind my feet in somebody's couch like it's something to do? Come on, I got a little more sense than that. ...Yeah, I remember grinding my feet into Eddie's couch. - Rick James / Ramona
  5. I still don't really understand that! Can somebody explain this? What in fuck? Why would someone do that? (edited now that I have read the posts -- Thank you!) God, did I love the Death glares Dorinda was pointing at her at Carole's show. I'm excited now. The first few episodes of S9 bored me but those previews look GREAT. This is the first time I've watched the episode on time and got to this thread before it had like 400 pages! :) Was Tom really talking about having a goddamn hall pass? On camera in front of Lu? My jaw dropped. I swear, there must have been a season sometime when I found Sonja entertaining. The editors just make her look bad or invisible this year.
  6. Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler like to work together. Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston have done like 5 movies together I think but only once were they each other's love interest. Diane Lane and Alec Baldwin did a movie together recently but it didn't get much buzz. He was also Cate Blanchett's love interest for Blue Jasmine... not a romantic comedy but a great story. (sorry, changing Keaton to Lane!)
  7. Ah! One of the reasons I love him. I love this post. Thanks
  8. Rosie O'Donnell plays softball against Larry David in an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, as well! I also heard Jon Lovitz ad-libbed some.
  9. When I was a kid I think I thought Dottie dropped the ball on purpose. Maybe that was the common thought at the time, like a more convoluted Hollywood ending. But now that I'm older I don't think she did. I think it's just a well-made movie with a hard fought battle won. Then again, to be honest, I don't really care either way. I love the movie. And I'm a woman who loves baseball. Geena is so beautiful and charismatic, that was my thought when I rewatched the movie a few years ago. However, I watched it again just a couple months ago and I realized the following: Lori Petty's performance in it is spectacular. I truly didn't notice when I was a kid. Now, I think she should have been nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar. (When she's shaking near the end? Holy shit.) Tom Hanks' performance is so damn funny. I wish he used chances to play that asshole kind of character more often. I love love love love Madonna and Rosie in this as well. When Rosie's character is throwing a tantrum in the locker room at one point, Evelyn says, "She sounds like my husband." Very funny detail. Edited, sorry I didn't know why I screwed up my earlier post. Distracted at work. Tea Leoni plays a Racine Peach with no lines, I think. She's in the movie at some point.
  10. Seriously? It's probably the most screenshotted video in history. Just Google it.
  11. Great post @PTVjones That preview was certainly very interesting and I loved hearing Will's thoughts. Fred is Rachel's childhood bad boy schoolmate. She sent him packing ;(
  12. Anthony wearing a cowboy hat and saying "Hop on"? Um. Yes. That was fun That's too bad about Fred. I liked him and and I thought he was hot Alex was twerking on Ellen, LOL. Rachel's type is so clearly the brunettes (and it's a particular type of brunette that I don't find attractive). But now that I see the way Alex speaks and moves at least I get him more, LOL.
  13. To answer this in the shortest way possible, the religion that is more predominant in the country they raised us.
  14. I think we are talking about Bethanny's outfit this episode - I actually liked it. I thought she looked like a medieval knight or something. I loved it Can someone let me know what is the 'gig' she has with Fredrik Ekland? Will she be on Million Dollar Listing NY now?
  15. There are children that mothers never loved, there are some abusive mothers out there. This is really blaming the victim in some cases. One of the only positive things about having a very tough relationship with your mother or an abusive mother is that now there are so many books out there about how to handle it and on top of everything, the stigma and shame of it as well. So many people who have grown up with abusive mothers have now written books about it. Not only do victims of abusive mothers have to deal with the actual abuse and/or the lack of love from the one person who is supposed to unconditionally love them, they also have to deal with the inherent distrust, dislike, disbelief that others put on them because a relationship with a mother is supposed to be inherently good. tl;dr FOH. Somebody quoted you and mentioned the resemblance to Princess Diana. I said the same in Season 8. Dorinda's so beautiful, so attractive, so my 'type'. There's something about her. And it was driving me absolutely crazy, who is it that she reminds me of? I settled between Princess Diana and maybe an older Cameron Diaz. Funnily enough because she was friends with Carole before she passed but Carolyn Bessette Kennedy is also one of my favourite women - I can't help but love the platinum blonde hair and those extra strong features.
  16. I love what you posted. Also it's hard to see why Dev is so crazy about Francesca beyond, she's pretty. Typical romantic comedy bullshit as written by a man. Indecisive woman who has no agency or assertiveness engaged to a 'supposedly bad' man (in the less nuanced stuff like Wedding Crashers, Harold and Kumar, and on and on it's always a TOTALLY AWFUL MAN). This is a tiny bit more nuanced but it's the same damn cliche again. I guess I have to be impressed that in THIS scenario at least Francesca had enough assertiveness to express reservations directly to Pino. That certainly doesn't usually happen in popular fiction. I have to admit I can totally relate to Dev in this situation. But couldn't they make the female character a little better? Of course she's good-looking but it always makes me roll my eyes when a man is so crazy in love with a character like this and I'm never really shown why. He SAYS they make each other really happy but I'm not exactly seeing it. Their interactions are all superficial. They're basically each other's tour guides. And she plays with his emotions. You notice when men write stuff like this the woman they're always so dramatically in love with just happens to be pretty and in great shape. LOL.
  17. I don't find her to be a charismatic or particularly good actor, so I get it. I loved the teens and kids who were playing both her and Dev though. I thought Dev was hysterical this episode. He is usually the straight man of the show, but this time it had to be Denise so he was the wacky side character, like Aziz played on Parks. This is when Aziz is at his best. He was being so annoying and jokey the whole time; I loved it. I totally cried at the slow-motion montage at the end played to "Can you Stand the Rain". I was very moved. If any of you have seen "The Best Man Holiday" there is a fantastic scene set to that song as well. Oh my god. Of course. I know Kym from Curb Your Enthusiasm!
  18. That has been around a long time. And you can see it in Urban Dictionary added a decade ago: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=wife her Holy shit!
  19. @Eureka I loved all of your "Random thoughts". And dammit, I always have my screen's brightness turned up to 100 for this show and it's still not bright enough for me!
  20. He rejected her and told her their 'thing' was over.... why would she not have a turn-around, right?
  21. Ha. I thought you were being sarcastic... This was my favourite episode so far. I devoured it. I didn't want it to end. I thought the filmmaking was kind of breath-taking. It was all so beautiful. The "White Rabbit" scene when June first sees the club, wow. It told a great story well. Great directing for this one. "Eyes Wide Shut" is one of my favourite films, haha, so I guess it shouldn't be surprising! The soundtrack and the wardrobe, yum, I wanted to eat it all up! The Commander makes me sick, but I guess that means the show is doing a good job of portraying this character. The women in Gilead are prisoners, but Serena Joy treats them like they've suddenly become children. LOL. It's so fucking stupid of her. (I barely made it through the last episode, and I still have never finished it. Bleh.) Are we supposed to gather that Nick had an affair with the woman who hung herself? It's all confusing.
  22. Totally get it. I think you might have the more accurate take. But I guess I feel like a couple like this is usually bigger than the sum of its parts.... a la Gwyneth/Brad, Brad/Jen, Ben/J.Lo. Obviously they are not at 'that level' but a couple like that I think always becomes a bit more known or has a little more 'specialness' than the two of them would have on their own. It's probably working more for Mila than it is for Ashton who is definitely taking a more background kind of role to her now. It's like he got less famous and she got more.
