  1. I have thick very long hair but it suits me (not a wig). I think it depends on the person. I think her natural hair looks best. For example, I think it suits 40+ women like Stevie Nicks, Isla Fisher (okay, she's 39), Demi Moore or Angelina Jolie. Kim's look is so over the top.
  2. I'd like to get down to the mystery of 1995 and why the red devil(s) are targeting Kappas and DDSes. The eps seem to habitually be: throw the girls together, RD makes an appearance, kills or nearly kills someone, the end. The storyline hasn't progressed.
  3. I think Sam and Chanel #3 are supposed to be pretty deadpan. So when are these girls getting initiated? And what is with the feathers? I feel like they are a flock of geese. lol
  4. Scratch what most of Hollywood shows you about Greek life. We actually had GPA requirements to stay active, but none of these people crack a book. lol Also, all a sorority is, at its most basic level, a social club. I also want to know how Wes still has a professorship when all he does is show horror movies in class. *Snort* His class must be that joke class you take when you've got the crazy science or math one to balance things. Fashion nitpick: They are dressing Gigi in 80s gear, not 90s gear which is the decade she's supposedly stuck in. They should have her in babydoll dresses, combat boots and a choker. I was a 90s sorority girl and wouldn't have touched her clothes with a 10 foot pole. :)
  5. Hey, I lurve satire of the Greek community (I was in a sorority and married a frat guy), but the WAY off stuff annoys me to no end. I've not seen Greek recruitment accurately portrayed (among a few other things) in film or TV. Let's moan about it! Hee! Also, sorority rush is way different than frat rush. Oh the differences. The topic was inspired by a question about the KKT house in another thread. I hope adding this is allowed. Sorry, I'm a TVWOP alum and they over-mod. ;) I'm still amazed that only three initiated members can fund that house. WTF at girls who aren't even full sisters running for president? At least in the flashback with the tub baby they had a party full of girls. More evidence that RM has ZERO clue how sorority 'parties' work. At least they had a bunch of members, though--at the time. ;) The sorority houses are alcohol free (sure girls sneak it in, but it can't be overt or may risk your chapter getting a hefty fine) if they are a national org and no matter how rich your parents are, there's no way on earth a house that size can be sustained by a few members. Starting a nitpick thread. I think many writers/producers don't bother to even do a minor bit of due diligence to make things plausible. lol Nitpick here can be as minor as these peeps are never seen with books. Unless this is a local sorority, they would have been shut down faster than I can blink an eye. Yep, I know that doesn't make it great for TV, but at least put it in the realm of possibility. I assume they aren't local due to the power they wield. Okay, there's the Dicky Dollar Scholars frat? Is that a Greek letter org (Delta Delta Sigma?) or a nickname? I know it's all in the name of humor but let us have a modicum of realism. :) I love "Legally Blonde," "Revenge of the Nerds," and "House Bunny" as much as the next person, but let's be at least a little realistic. :)
  6. I'd watch that. :D Please, Bravo! Make it happen. PS: Editing to add that if Brielle's grades were that bad where she barely graduated and isn't getting into any 4 year college, her only hope would to be to go to a community college for a year or so and get them up to snuff and transfer. I've known kids who went to a 4 year uni off the bat and partied too much and had to do that for the sophomore year and then transfer back to a 4 year for junior year.
  7. CNN will want someone with a couple of years of college under his/her belt and a place like that isn't going to care about your E! or Bravo connections. It also doesn't help that she's shown to be lazy on this show. I wanted to laugh at Kim talking to B about talking from the teleprompter (I think that was this ep, they are starting to run together LOL). She's not going to be reading a teleprompter, she'll be getting coffee for a producer or writer. Interns do a lot of grunt work like copies, coffee, errands, etc and in journalism (especially broadcast) they are not paid if you are getting college credit. And even if she eventually finished her degree and got a reporter job locally (Atlanta is a top 10 market--not small potatoes), she'd be the fill in weekend assignment person or would have to go to a much smaller market to get more on-air time if that's what she wants. Her looks will only get her so far. They're many many pretty journalism grads with good GPAs, work ethic and connections. It's a pretty cutthroat field. Kroy knows a bit about being a tough field and earning your way (literally and figuratively). As far as her not getting into Kennesaw, it's gotten a lot more competitive with more and more high achievers staying in state. It used to be the school you went to when you couldn't get in anywhere else, but I've heard of people with 3.0+ GPAs not getting in. UGA is near impossible if you live in the Atlanta area (a friend's child with AP classes, 3.7 GPA, athletics, extracurriculars, volunteer work etc) didn't even get wait-listed. I think they ease the requirement a little outside of the metro area because they don't want to be a university of just Atlanta kids. You'll have to forgive me. I majored in broadcast journalism so I know a little about it. However, I worked my own way through college and didn't intern (didn't have time to work for free) and wound up in a different yet better paying field. :D
  8. Did anyone catch Pete's line of "we're her only hope" when talking to Chanel 3? Made me think of Princess Leia's plea to Obi Wan. :D
  9. If you're in certain professions you are your own best advertisement. Would I go to a nutritionist who's obese? No. Would I trust a hairstylist with fried over-processed hair? No. A dentist with bad teeth? Etc.
  10. I have a feeling we're going to have to 'fanwank' a lot of this show because not a lot of it works in a logical (or even semi-logical) sense.
  11. Loved the Matt McConaughey impression and Grace dressed as Oliver Hudson's sister.
  12. I'm glad that Brielle is going to intern, but legit organizations are going to want a degree as well. Let's see if she actually gets motivated or is the lazy intern that no one wants to work with. lol People have said that Bravo doesn't foot the bill for the stuff the Housewives/et al do, but I have to wonder if they do help with things like this party. It makes for better TV and no sensible person (even a well-off person) throws this sort of party for their kids--at least not in my experience. Some parents I'm friends with (who are wealthy) gave their son a graduation party, but it was hardly a carnival. It was a higher end backyard barbeque. Unless you're ridiculously rich (we know Kim isn't), you don't throw that sort of cash around. I do feel bad for Ariana. Yes, she's the smart sister and will probably be the most successful in life, but it hurts to know your mom prefers your vapid, lazy older sister. I've sort of been there and no matter how many accomplishments, good grades, etc. you'll never be 'her' (the crazy mom's) ideal. She'll wind up being the total package of beauty and brains. I'd love to see her go to somewhere like Ga. Tech and major in something crazy. :D
  13. No. Absolutely not. I speak as an alumna of a sorority. Most rooms are crammed with bunkbeds and desks. Usually, only the president has a single room. However, it's not unusual for sisters to borrow each other's clothes (with permission). How big Greek life really depends on the campus. On SEC campuses it's a bigger deal than, say, New York or Vermont. Also, I've yet to see recruitment/rush portrayed accurately on TV or film. Most of the folks who've written this stuff aren't Greek and may not have even asked someone who was about the whole thing. However, Skylar Samuels is a Kappa Alpha Theta at Stanford. She'd know how it really works.
  14. Could this be about Breslin wanting out? http://blindgossip.com/?p=74153
  15. It's either a nod to her mom or we'll find out that she has crazy ears or something in a later ep.
  16. Does anyone know where the scene of Chanel 2/Sonia's parents' house was filmed? Here's the Kappa house: http://nola.curbed.com/archives/2015/09/28/kappa-house-scream-queens-location.phpI love real estate porn. :D
  17. That's the way I feel. It has to make sense in the universe of the show. Here it seems that the writers went through a bunch of cult classic 'mean girl' movies and are dying (pun intended) to drop in references in each episode. I loved Hester's makeover, but I'm a sucker for makeover shows. It could be home makeovers, beauty makeovers, etc. I don't care. :D I'm assuming this school is in the LA area since they were easily able to drive to Chanel 2's Bel Air house and the way the parents talked, it was easy for her to come home and visit.
  18. JohnnyDollar, is this university supposed to be in the south? I know it's filmed in Louisiana, but that's due to tax breaks (that's also why a TON of stuff is filmed in Atlanta). None of the characters have accents.
  19. A friend of mine gave up after 10 minutes and my hubby was rolling his eyes through the whole thing. I'm willing to give it more chances though.
  20. This thread title makes me think of Billy Squier's "Everybody Wants You." :D :D Is that Chad's theme song?
  21. We lost one of our kitties less than a year ago. It's tough. We never had to put her down (she died right in front of us though we knew the end was coming). So sorry for your fur baby. :'( I'm skeptical with Kim and health issues due to her wig excuse from way back from RHoA. My dad had a mini stroke and though he was able to drive himself to the hospital (silly man!), he was immediately in surgery. I'm not a doctor and no expert in strokes, but looking so well so soon after that? Color me cynical. However, I do have to say she looks nicer without all the pomp and circumstance.
  22. If Brielle wants to be a host of some sort she needs to go to college and major in journalism, not play coattails with her mommy.
  23. Call me heartless and cynical, but is this a ploy/excuse for her to leave DWTS on her own terms? Who takes a selfie after a stroke, mini or not? Even a mild stroke is no joke.
  24. This is my first Ryan Murphy show. Does that mean I'm going to be lost the whole time? It seems, from reading this forum, that you need to be familiar with the Murphyverse. I'm most familiar with JLC, but have only seen the other actors in one or two roles so I don't have enough stuff to judge them on yet. My daughter used to watch "Victorious" and AG was annoying on that as well. As a former sorority girl who loves Scream movies, Heathers, Mean Girls, Legally Blonde, Clueless, etc. I was hoping for a funny yet dark mashup of these movies in this show.
