  1. I know when we had a lot of stuff in our house remodeled, the code inspector still had to come in and okay everything. I'm surprised she didn't have to add a railing on the outside. Those stairs look like they could support only someone as small as Carole. Like someone else said, imagine if someone had one too many glasses of wine and went bumbling up those things. Eek! I think the rest of the decor looks great, but the moment I saw those stairs, I felt second hand afraid for anyone 10 lbs larger than her to walk up them. lol
  2. LuAnn's style is classic and she seems to know what works for her and she looks good in most things. I loved her Hamptons nautical stripes look. Is there a link for pix of her NYC place? Also, I'm trying to jog my memory for Kristen's pants at Heather's anniversary party. Sun-Bun, I'm watching that Kelly video and I want her arms. Wow.
  3. But there needs to be a railing on the other side. Imagine if Heather or Kristen's kids came over and they turned their heads for a second and one of them is wandering up them? Yikes. Also, there needs to be an outer railing. Heck, they'd make me hesitant to walk up them even without a glass of wine. The 'floating' part doesn't scare as much as no outside rail.
  4. A place for us to discuss fab (or non fab) things the Housewives wear, the real estate porn and the luxe vacations they take. Did you like (or not like) Heather's dress at Birdland? Do you lust after Ramona's condo? Are you yearning to go to St. Barth's (minus the creepy and possibly STD carrying pirate)? Let's have at it! As much as I think Aviva is a loony toon, I do like her fashion choices most of the time. Loved her floral Dolce & Gabbana dress at creepy George's engagement party. Loved Kristen's dress at Carole's birthday bash. Here are some screen-caps of said dress: http://www.bigblondehair.com/real-housewives/rhony/kristen-taekmans-black-slit-maxi-dress-caroles-birthday/ Not digging Ramona and Sonja's sorority semi-formal cocktail dresses in their 'intro' pieces.
  5. I think Kristen is beautiful and incredibly photogenic, but she's not the right model for YT. Even if she's a size 4, she's 5'10." A woman that tall at a size 4 is way different from a petite woman (under 5'4") who is that same size. YT has some of Kristen's photos on their site, but she's not who they are marketing to. K is a swizzle stick & would never need YT or Spanx. Though I like her, I never got the fawning the ladies did over her body. Maybe Bravo had her use K so there would be more interaction between the women and show the two at work? Or if K's modeling career was stalling, she used her to help out a friend? BTW: Jonathan is a hottie and seems like a sweetie. What sort of biz is he in? As far as shape wear, Spanx has a less expensive line you can buy at Target (and probably other places) called Assets and it's excellent.
  6. I don't get why men inexplicably fall at Mary's feet. She's not nice, not that more attractive than the nicer Edith who has more depth, and can't be the only peer's 'catch.' After all, Downton will go to baby George anyway. She's like the Marissa of "The OC." I was always puzzled why dudes would suddenly fall in love with her. She had no personality and Summer was the hotter of the ladies on that show.
  7. I'm new to the Previously site (was a TWOPer), watched RHOA its first season, a little of the second, but lost interest. Bummed they got rid of DeShawn and Lisa (sane and classy ladies), but wonder if they'd ever have some cray cray like Anna Benson on? That might actually bring me back.
  8. I have to give props to Heather singing. I've sung professionally before and singing on the spot isn't easy (let me warm up and that's a different thing). I imagine she would have been even better if she had warmed up. Mario's singing wasn't bad (but not great either), but he makes me cringe. Sometimes I feel he's two seconds away from becoming George which makes me hope Avery will not become Aviva. She seems like a nice girl and apparently is making good grades in college. Hopefully she'll go on to a successful career. IIRC, didn't she go to Emory her freshman year? Not an easy school to get into. As far as Kristen and Josh, my husband is an entrepreneur, has been on the board of a zillion (it seems that way sometimes) non-profits, been on marathon conference calls (sometimes at home). He has never, ever treated me that way. Maybe I'm married to that rare sweetheart, but it would never occur to him to be a douche to me. Is it Bravo created drama? And he'd never relocate us on such small notice and not without talking about it.
  9. Since I'm new here, is there a thread for RHONY clothing and real estate? Is it okay to start one? I guess since I'm a bit wary. TWOP over-modded a bit.
  10. I could talk all day about the clothes, real estate, vacations, etc. lol
  11. I'm a TWOP refugee like many of you. :) However, I'm new to RHONY. Watched since season 5. I watched the first season of the Atlanta one, but lost interest. I guess I love NY since it's one of my favorite cities to visit.
  12. Hello! I'm a Noob and been watching RHONY since the beginning of season 5. :) Be gentle with me. I have really wanted to like Carole, but the I'm so hipster thing she projects is too much. The name dropping is old. She'd have us believe she's dated every famous actor out there. I don't doubt she's well connected and knows a ton of famous people, but dating all of those actors? Color me a little skeptical. I'm also waiting for the NY building code dept. to cite her for those stairs. They are a lawsuit waiting to happen. Totally getting rid of your kitchen? I hope she was joking. Even when I was single, lived alone and I hate to cook, I still needed a fridg, stove, microwave, etc. Perhaps she lives on a diet of wine, pot, and whatever she eats when she goes out? That would sense for how skinny she is. I read TWG and I'd give it two stars or low three stars. I liked "What Remains" and I think Carole's forte is not writing fiction. After watching Carole in RHONY and then reading the book, there doesn't seems to be a big difference with her 'Claire' and herself other than the deceased husband in real life seemed like a nice guy and the book one is a d-bag. There's the name dropping of famous guys she hooks up, an annoying BFF, the stereotypical gay friend, and a few other stereotypical friend types. There's not many sympathetic characters. That's what I can't stand about Candace Bushnell's stuff. None of her characters are likable. If you want good women's fiction (I hate the term chick lit--sounds like chiclet LOL), read Sophie Kinsella's older stuff (she's been a bit flat lately), "The Book of Jane," or "The Nanny Diaries." There are others, but I can't think of them at the moment. I wonder if the book will be adapted to a show? I hope the show is better than the book. The Devil Wears Prada and Legally Blonde were horrible books but the movies were nice.
