  1. British singer Rebecca Ferguson (she was on The X Factor in the UK) says she'll sing at Trump's inauguration, under 1 condition: She has to be allowed to sing a song called Strange Fruit. Why that song is explained in the linked article (it sounds kind of like she thinks it speaks to/about those Trump's administration threatens to disenfranchise/disenfranchise further). http://variety.com/2017/music/news/rebecca-ferguson-trump-inauguration-strange-fruit-1201951091/
  2. If the blonde with the glasses is Charlotte, then she's probably Melissa's kid. I missed when the kid said "d'Arabian" (but caught when 1 of the boys said something like he lives in a small town next to a big town, next to a bigger town). I remember Melissa saying her daughters' names on some show & 1 of them was "Charlotte" (I don't remember the other 3 girls' names, but they all sounded like they were related to France--which, as I remember, is a special place for Melissa). Plus I also remember Melissa doing an online FN show awhile back which involved her kids--at least 1 is/was a picky eater & the purpose of the show had to do with teaching the girls how not to be picky eaters.
  3. Carson also became famous as 1 of the 5 "makeover specialists", or whatever you want to call them/they were called, on Queer Eye For The Straight Guy.
  4. The answer 'tis: Yes. Arnold Schwarzenegger's proper title (over "Mr.") is still "Governor" since he previously held the office of Governor of the state of California for 2 terms. Just like former Presidents (& Vice Presidents) still have that title after they leave office; former Cabinet members are still "Mr./Madam Secretary"; Members of Congress are still "Representative/Congress(wo)man" or "Senator"; those who've served in the Armed Forces are still referred to by whatever rank they were at when their military service ended, & I could go on & on.
  5. Logo (I think) just ran a marathon of all the Will & Grace episodes with Debbie Reynolds as Grace's mother, Bobbi Adler, over the weekend (there are apparently only 10 eps with her). And Turner Classic Movies is running a 24-hour marathon of Debbie Reynolds movies later this month.
  6. George Conway, Kellyanne's husband, is reportedly on the short list for Trump's US Solicitor General (among other things, they conduct the government's business in the Supreme Court). http://abcnews.go.com/US/kellyanne-conways-husband-consideration-solicitor-general/story?id=44479394
  7. Allan Williams, the first manager of The Beatles, dead at age 86. http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-38473742
  8. If Arturo counts, let me add Pan Pan, the world's oldest male panda, who died yesterday, of a combination of cancer & old age, at age 31 (about 100 human years). Pan Pan has some 130 descendants worldwide, accounting for 25% of the world's captive panda population. Among Pan Pan's descendants are Tian Tian, the adult male panda currently residing at the Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington, DC with his mate, Mei Xiang, & 2 of their 3 cubs (& Pan Pan's "grand cubs") 3-year-old Bao Bao (a female) & 16-month-old Bei Bei (a male). A third cub born to Tian Tian & Mei Xiang, & another Pan Pan "grand cub", 11-year-old male Tai Shan, lives at a Panda Breeding & Research Center in China. http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/12/30/507539383/-panda-grandpa-pan-pan-dies-in-china

  10. She didn't physically have anymore children after Liza Todd, but her Wikipedia page says Richard Burton adopted Liza Todd, & also adopted a daughter they named Maria Burton. She was a German orphan, born in 1961, who Elizabeth started the adoption procedure for when she was still married to Eddie Fisher. So I was almost right about Carrie & Todd having a half-sibling through their dad & Elizabeth Taylor (& I said I wasn't positive about that anyway).
  11. Carrie & Todd (I think, but I'm not positive) had half-siblings from their father's marriage to Elizabeth Taylor. They definitely had half-siblings, sisters Joely (she starred in the Fox TV show Til Death, I think with Brad Garrett from Everybody Loves Raymond) & Tricia, from their father's marriage to singer/actress/TV personality Connie Stevens (she was mainly popular in the 1960's & 1970's). I don't know about any half-siblings from any relationships involving Eddie Fisher other than those 2 (mostly because I don't remember if he was married to anyone else besides Debbie, Elizabeth, & Connie).
  12. For those of a more recent era (who wouldn't remember her from the MGM Musicals, her film role as "Tammy", her NBC sitcom, or Charlotte's Web, among other things), Debbie Reynolds also had a recurring role in Will & Grace, as Grace's mother, Bobbi Adler.
  13. JFK's grandson is Jack (maybe actually John, I forget) Kennedy Schlossberg. He has 2 sisters (both older, I think), Rose & Tatiana. They're the children of the current US Ambassador to Japan, Caroline Kennedy, & her husband Edwin Schlossberg. Bernie's last name is Leadon. Bernie Leadon.
  14. TNT is airing eps 2-7 from Season 1 tonight, Wednesday, December 28th, starting at 11PM Eastern/10PM Central & running through 5AM Eastern/4AM Central.
  15. They were all on yesterday, Monday, as well. At least I remember seeing them together before today. It was either yesterday or Sunday's mostly pretaped show. They made a kinda big deal of Sara being back for the person who replaced her when Sara took the mostly fulltime gig on The View. Just how long does the "first string" get for vacation over the end of the year holidays anyway? It seems like Ginger & Robin have been off since Thanksgiving (heck, since she came back from her bone marrow transplant it seems like Robin's off more than she's at work); I know George & Michael were on last week before the holiday & I think Lara may have been too. And since Robin was off at least most of the week before last, to me it's fair they (at least George, anyway) have at least some of this week off too. (shrugs)
  16. Inventor of the iconic Red Solo Cup, Robert Leo Hulseman, dies at 84. http://people.com/food/inventor-of-iconic-red-solo-cup-dies-at-84/?xid=socialflow_twitter_peoplemag
  17. Knowing what I know about medicine, coming from a medical family (& being a frequent patient due to chronic health issues from birth), I think I have to agree with you... She most likely has been dead since she collapsed on the plane. Especially given the fact none of the reports about her collapse have said anything about anyone rendering aid being able to get a pulse, or to get her breathing on her own once she was down. It's like I said (or implied) in a previous post, perhaps her family kept her on the ventilator until they were ready to say goodbye on their terms--which I honestly can't fault, I suppose. Especially given that she fell ill right before Christmas weekend (though her Fisher side may have been Jewish, & celebrated Hanukkah, & not Christian... I don't know); I mean, I can kind of see them, if it was a "When do we pull the plug?" issue, wanting not to do it until after Christmas so as not to have that connection to the holiday from now on--though they perhaps will anyway.
  18. The friend was Alana Hamilton Stewart, ex-wife of both actor/former talk show host (with Alana) George Hamilton & singer Rod Stewart.
  19. President Obama (with Mrs. Obama) speaks to troops at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_yaT3lZkEGk
  20. I'm surprised the Secret Service didn't intervene. As far as I know, like all incoming/sitting Presidential children, she's under, or supposed to be under, protection by the Secret Service--as are all of her siblings & half siblings--until her father's no longer POTUS. I know Trump has said something about putting his private security team, which already protects him, in charge of his protection instead of the Secret Service; but I'm not sure how that's worked out yet, or if his kids were also supposed to be included in that. So there should've been an agent/a detail traveling with her/her family, who would've/should've intervened in the situation... Or better yet, she & her family/whomever she was traveling with probably should've been flying by private/chartered plane instead of a regular airline flight. If there was an Air Marshal onboard, I don't think he or she would've gotten involved so as to maintain his/her anonymity for future trips. They were going to Hawaii? I also heard they were going to Florida (presumably to join Trump for Christmas; he spent Christmas at Mar-a-Lago, just like he did Thanksgiving).
  21. I think Gabriel died in the next-to-last episode of last season, which would've been Ep 624 of S6. The thread for it is still in the forum. I forget the Hawaiian title, but the English title translates to something about a spider's web, as I remember. Just look for the thread numbered 06.24, from a date towards the end of May, 2016, if you're interested in reading about it. If you're in the US, you might be able to watch it on the CBS app or CBS All Access. You can also download it from iTunes or Amazon.com instant video. But the thing about it is, Chin's niece/Gabriel's daughter, Sara, was actually introduced in another ep from earlier in the season, where her mother was killed, it was believed her mother was her only surviving parent, & we found out that Chin was her uncle by his marriage to the now-dead Dr. Malia Waincroft Kelly. When Sara was taken to Child Protective Services after her mom died, she told them, & (I'm pretty sure) Sgt. Duke Lukela, the HPD cop who works with Five-0 a lot, that she had an uncle who was an HPD cop. When Five-0 was called in on the murder, Duke put her with Chin. And in talking about her HPD cop uncle, she mentioned to Duke &/or Chin that her middle name is "Malia", the same as Chin's dead wife. So he put 2 & 2 together & got temporary custody of her, based on her being related to him by marriage. While he had custody of Sara, we found out, for sure, that Gabriel was her father (though that's probably the only way she could have the middle name Malia without being Chin & Malia's kid, & it should've been obvious earlier) after he was what ended up being fatally shot & he asked Chin to take care of Sara for him.
  22. This recently-posted article, from The Hollywood Reporter, quotes George's manager as saying he died, unexpectedly & at a specific time yet to be determined, of heart failure. He was found in bed, I think the article also says (I read it kinda fast). A spokesperson for his local police in England says his death is "unexplained but not suspicious". http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/george-michael-dead-singer-songwriter-was-53-959259
  23. Thankfully, a few posts on my Twitter feed ahead of George's death announcement, I got a ReTweet from someone I follow of a Tweet by Debbie Reynolds (or in her name, anyway) saying Carrie was still stable, unconscious & on a ventilator, in ICU, as with the last report, & that if/when anything changed she/the family would share. What concerns me is if her still-unconscious, on a ventilator, state (after what, 2 or 3 days now) is medically-induced by her physician(s), to help her heal, or if it stems from an inability to revive her on the plane/at the airport after it landed & we're just waiting for her daughter & the rest of Carrie's immediate family to make the decision to remove her from the ventilator & let her pass peacefully.
  24. If you should, I should. Reading back through the posts about his death, & looking at the life/death dates posted on the In Memoriam graphic within the thread, posted by @giovannif7, I discovered I'm only 10 days younger than George was when he passed today (& I was only 5 weeks/35 days older than Whitney Houston was when she passed 4 years ago, for that matter). In reading through the George-related posts, I find/feel I also need to apologize. I guess in my haste to post (or something), I said perhaps George might've passed from an undisclosed case of AIDS, since he was either (openly) gay or bisexual. I know much better, as do/should we all now, that anyone can get HIV/AIDS; not just someone who's gay or bisexual, as was originally thought so many years ago. I want to apologize to anyone here I might've offended by my comment. No offense was meant. And, if you're talking about known "risk groups" George would've been included in for that illness, as @roamyn pointed out he also was a known drug user in the '80's & '90's; not just gay or bisexual. Besides AIDS, if he had an undisclosed illness (Which is possible--hasn't he been out of the public eye for a really long time now? I can't even remember when his last CD of new material was released--the last CD of his I remember was a hits compilation & I can't remember when it "dropped"), he could well have had cancer, as Bowie did, or who knows what else that I'm not thinking of right now.
  25. USA Today's obit says he had pneumonia in Austria in 2011. Perhaps long-undisclosed AIDS (he was either gay or bisexual, after all)? http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2016/12/25/british-singer-george-michael-has-died/95842954/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter I had been taking a nap; Imagine my shock & surprise to awaken to this news. Some of his stuff (mostly solo, I know I had Last Christmas & Careless Whisper & a lot of George's solo stuff; not sure about Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go or most of Wham's stuff) is on my iPod/iTunes, I'll admit (or is it something you have to admit to, like it's a "guilty pleasure", or something?). @legaleagle53, George & I are/were the same age... 53 (I'll be 54 in early July, unless Trump's actions during his presidency somehow keep us from getting that far into 2017). I agree... That's too young; at least compared to someone like Zsa Zsa Gabor, whose passing at 99 I believe we were recognizing here just last Sunday.
