  1. Its hard to muster up any strong feelings about Cisco leaving. He's another one like Wells. He goes and does some other thing in some other place often enough that his leaving doesn't really carry that much weight. Its a send off for the actor and feels that way. But they don't want to make it so permanent that it matters. They really have removed any sort of stakes and suspense from this show over the years.
  2. Ace's hair is an obstacle to overcome in my rooting for their relationship. It bugs me to Sam Winchester levels. Otherwise I find I'm all in.
  3. Annabelle theory: Martin brainwashed Kate to the point that he was able to use her to lure another girl back to the house. That girl was Annabelle. Or maybe Martin did it on his own. The night of the gunshot, there was an altercation of some kind and Annabelle was killed. Martin disposed of her body and she hasn't to this point been found. Or if she was found there was nothing to tie her back to Martin or Kate. In the aftermath of this, investigation of the gunshot or Kate somehow reached out to the police, there was a shootout between Martin and the police and Martin was killed and Kate rescued. Kate has blocked out the trauma of it. Also, part of me is thinking that maybe this is a Kate thought Annabelle was killed situation and blocked it but Annabelle got away. I only say this because I think after this season that its probably not that interesting to see Jeanette's timelines anymore. - In 1993 she'll just be doing the popular teenage girl thing until Kate is found - In 1994 she'll be treading water between being the outcast and filing the lawsuit -In 1995 whatever the outcome of the case is, it will be over. I'm thinking they do wrap up the mystery of what did Jeanette know and then kickoff another season with Kate/Annabelle's stories being told.
  4. I agree with you here. I don't know what that smile after Kate's mom rebuffed her offer of support was about, but really there is nothing about it that can be good. And her side of the confrontation with Mallory was really odd. It reminded me a lot of her practicing emotions by watching TV. It had a pretty long pause like a robot was going through scenarios to get to an end result of ditching her friends in a justifiable way. It didn't seem genuine but more a means to an end. The problem I'm having is that I don't really buy that Jeanette has hatched some kind of fully formed plan to become popular and insinuate herself into Kate's life. It would be super helpful if they showed Jeanette watching Single White Female right about now to show where she got this idea from. Which I guess is plausible given the timeline.
  5. You joke, but that is what I'm expecting other than the name change. Barring this being originally conceived as a limited 10 episode series or something like American Horror Story where the cast plays out different stories each season or a more typical anthology where every season is a different story and different cast, there is no way they are going to wrap this up in ten episodes. Having three timelines, one year apart, with Kate captive until the beginning of the second year, while only moving through summer pretty much guarantees that. They've left nine months untold. They aren't going to cover that just in flashback or in the last one to two episodes.
  6. My electronic devices and my hardwood floors aren't getting along. In the war they are currently waging, the floors are winning. The Kindle I dropped a few weeks ago. Screen down. The laptop flung itself onto the floor (and did some gymnastics) when I was in a entirely different room today. Today was an expensive day.
  7. That would have been enough but (spoils the end in detail - don't read it unless you've seen it...this is a warning) This show took a swerve into snark worthy television for about 15 minutes that I haven't seen in a long time.
  8. Given what Amazon does to its workers, I don't think laziness is a thing that exists at Amazon. Working people so hard that corners get cut, now that I would believe.
  9. I don't think we should be taking this as the kids funding it just because it was said they did. I'm assuming that it evolved over the years but the story stays the same and no one really questions it. Or if they do, they don't talk about it. It probably started with the kids funding the winnings by contributing every day of the school year. But once people saw opportunities to make money off the game, I'm assuming that some financially motivated individual(s) contributed to the pot to keep the game going and raise the stakes/danger level. None of the cast passes for teenagers. I don't think Ray is actually all that much worse in that respect than anyone else. I think that the Nicholson genetics do make it harder to see him as younger than he is. But I can understand why they wouldn't pass up casting him when he has a similar type of charisma as his dad has and also seems to be among the more capable actors in the cast. At what point can we talk openly about the final episode because somewhere in that episode, this show shifted to Looney Tunes, Road Runner/Coyote, or Bugs Bunny/Elmer Fudd, territory. That whole finale to the game was full on cartoon slapstick. Otherwise, liked this show.
  10. Its probably because the Noah Wyle is joining the Leverage reboot. I didn't and still don't understand when Athena went in alone. I can handwave that she went in. I don't get why she wasn't escorted so she could do cop while they did firefighting.
  11. The procedural portion was what I had the hardest time with o House. House nearly kills the patient twice then saves the patient in the end. The nearly killing the patient a few times each episode got to be kind of repetitive and irritating and undermined my belief that anyone would put up with him. Given that he narrowly saved the patient after making them radically worse than they were when they showed up in the first place every episode.
  12. I recognize chaos. I root cause where chaos is coming from I escalate chaos I propose a solution for chaos I get partial agreement I manage chaos. I field calls about the chaos. I say "no shit, I escalated the chaos". I escalate the chaos again. I propose a solution for the chaos again I get another incremental sliver to implement a solution. I mange the chaos. I rinse and repeat. Then I go to the store because I've got 60D on the rest of you on the shit storm that is coming. TL;DR I work in supply chain.
  13. I'm dreading going back to work tomorrow. Its so unbelievably busy. Just a constant day of stress and every day a complete shit show. Not in a 'my co-workers are terrible way' but 'has the world gone mad way'. I've checked in with former coworkers who have gone elsewhere and apparently the grass is not greener. So that sucks. Please for f$@(S sake stop buying stuff. We can't take much more of this.
  14. John Wells all but said on an Archive of Television that Sorkin wanted Lowe gone. That Lowe became buddies with the network president and that this conflict pretty much tipped Sorkin into leaving. And that all the other actors blamed the conflict between Sorkin and Lowe for Sorkin leaving and that fed in pretty heavily to animosity towards Lowe and Lowe leaving. Wells said everything except Lowe's name but it was clear who he was talking about. Its really a lot worse than that if you watch the show. Its beyond being an ensemble with a clear lead. Its to the point of a fire Captain (Lowe) and a cop rushing into a hostage station.., and guess who is the one that shots the hostage taker. In any other show, it would be the cop. In a Rob Lowe show, its whoever Rob Lowe is playing. A lot of the episodes are like that, dumb in a way that is clear that Lowe needs to be the center of everything.
  15. I just came across the Leverage reboot trailer and have to say that is one that I'm glad to hear is coming back with 4 out of 5 original cast members plus Noah Wyle.
  16. 1. Spring 2. Work is still home and no one else is there. So underwear. 3. Is a trick question. Both answers, same result
  17. I could only find a rat in a bee costume. Actually also found a dragon. But no hummingbirds. So the feeder should be safe from imposters.
  18. I studied Krav Maga with Grace Jones. heh.
  19. On reflection its not really that surprising. Its downright stereotypical. Only mystery is whether this is access journalism at work again or if Melinda Gates' lawyers dropped a file with details of his picadilloes to some reporters.
  20. Maybe Bill Gates cut a check to John Mulaney and Olivia Munn to provide a distraction. Its weird that sparked so much discussion.
  21. I was torn between my hatred of FOX and American Idol. American Idol was the problem because it filled so much of their schedule after considering they only programmed 2/3 of what the big three did in prime time. A show had to achieve House levels of popularity to be given a chance at FOX.
  22. This is a work culture or personal thing. If its happening to everyone then its a work culture thing. If its just you then they are purposefully being assholes and using a Southerner stereotype to get away with it.
  23. I've come to the conclusion that he doesn't have much range. He was great in the West Wing. But I feel like he is playing a variation of the same character here but the writing is worse and no one is putting his need to be the clear lead of the ensemble at all times in check. And frankly the lighthearted, comedic thing he's good at is a bad fit for the part of fire captain who was the sole survivor of his house on 9-11, had his son attempt suicide, is battling cancer, and just thought he was a father and then learned he wasn't, and had a coworker die in front of him. He doesn't seem to have a thimble full of the gravitas needed to pull off his part in this show.
  24. The are totally on my radar because I am stuck between two waste removal services that have a monopoly on my area. One they have a major ownership stake in. The other is their charitable foundation has a major stake in. Both suck. Both worse than suck given that I got annoyed enough with both to lookup their ownership. And fair or not, it makes me doubt their motives.
  25. I kind of think that its because it was a Lowe family endeavor this week. Having the star (Rob), writer (Son) , and director (Brother-Chad) being from the same family is not a good move for pointing out where the weaknesses are and correcting them.
