  1. I feel like both characters long ago ran their course on the show, and the writers really have no idea what to do with either of them now.
  2. A thousand times this. No wonder the hospital was overwhelmed. They send doctors out for tasks that could be handled by a receptionist while actual patients sit around unattended. And honestly, I get that Ben was a firefighter, but no one should be looking to a resident to decide whether the hospital remains open to trauma. That's a decision about a hundred times above his paygrade and that was why it led to chaos. I can't even with Owen. He's such a baby. I'm sad Yasuda left. I liked the character and thought she was one of the stronger actors out of the intern bunch. Yes. They aren't back until March.
  3. I didn't love the episode. The giant cross made for a funny sight gag, but the joke just went on too long and got stupid. I really like her. She has a nice "normal" quality, if that makes sense. I also didn't understand why the Hospital Administrator would bring the nurse with her when she was going to fire the Chaplain.
  4. He played Desmond on Lost. I think that was one of his biggest roles. Ha! I think a lot of that is due to the actor's limited acting abilities.
  5. Both seem rather checked out of their marriage. It doesn't seem either learned much from therapy. TK appears ready to assume guardianship of a three(?) year old without seeming to have much idea as to what that entails, or what Carlos thinks. (Does their condo even have a second bedroom?) Carlos remains obsessed with his father's killer, even though realistically, he should not be anywhere near that case after nearly MURDERING AN INNOCENT PERSON(!!!!) over it. It is striking to me, especially as compared to the original, how little they have developed the 911 side of things. Unlike on the original where they have a number of recurring characters, they essentially just have a giant room full of extras here with a monotone Wyatt. Owen had his cause. Everything else is secondary. I can honestly say I think if you asked Owen after they won, he would have completely forgotten that the whole thing was supposed to be about Tommy. And when everyone suddenly has a huge deductible for their insurance plan because of the massive expansion in coverage, Owen will be first in line to protest.
  6. Airing 11/18/24.
  7. I enjoyed the episode, even if I would say a high end jewelry store in Manhattan has cameras covering everything, even areas where there was no jewelry. The murder would have been caught on film.
  8. I didn't love the scene with the big line up of medications purchased just for this cruise, as though all these men were sex crazed maniacs just teeming with communicable diseases to swap with one another. It took me a bit to recognize him, but at the end, I realized that one of the travel influencers was Brad, Sue's best friend from the show The Middle. I also was very surprised that a cruise line would have allowed a woman weeks from her due date to board. My understanding is most cruise lines don't allow a pregnant woman to sail after the 23rd or 24th week. I think Stamos looks good for 61. Cheyenne Jackson is 49, and I agree that he was looking rough.
  9. If I'm remembering right, Ewan McGregor was one of the thieves! I initially didn't even notice, but yes! Where was any attending during the code on this person who just had a major operation?!?
  10. I don't know if it is the actor or a character choice, but not for nothing, Craig T. Nelson is 80. I wouldn't be surprised if he was slowing down a bit.
  11. I was thinking of that moment as well. She has that meltdown over the elevators not working due to the active shooter, but quickly pulls herself back together. She then has that very tender scene with the Mercy West doctor who was dying. It was quite moving.
  12. It did seem odd that days appeared to have gone by with one daughter dead and the other in bad condition, but we didn't see them at all. How long were James and Levi even dating? I realize the character was introduced solely to be Schmitt's love interest, but that part of the storyline felt like it moved incredibly fast. And jeez, poor Yasuda. I just hope she can forgive herself for her sister's death. I did like that moment at the end when Bailey was holding her hand as she told her that her sister died. Chandra Wilson just can project such warmth and love when needed.
  13. The biggest thing I know him from is he played Susan Sarandon's magic loving son in the movie Stepmom. This was an interesting episode. Given how shady the wife/Judge was throughout the episode, I honestly thought we'd find out that she was having an affair with the guy who murdered her husband. I was surprised that her big secret was being a drug addict. I also thought they saw the watermelon sweatshirt through one of windows in the tent, perhaps raising a plain sight exception, but I am not familiar enough with criminal law to know how that works in this type of situation, and they didn't raise it with the Judge at the suppression hearing.
  14. I get that they want a character like him (who is just starting out) so they can offer a contrast between him and the more experienced nurses, while also giving the characters a natural way to give exposition as needed, but he really is a little much. There is real life inexperienced, and then there is tv comedy inexperienced where you sort of wonder how the character can function. I liked Wendi McLendon-Covey's character. It felt like she has the right balance between seeming like a real person while acting absurdly. I also like Allison Tolman, even if the episode spent too much time having her make faces at the camera. I didn't like David Alan Grier's character. I get that there are men really like him, but it's Lynn Whitfield and he could barely have a conversation with her without making it sound like she was used goods.
  15. That, and Tommy relying so heavily on Nancy made me realize how insular these characters are. I get that Nancy was initially the only person who knew the diagnosis Tommy was trying to hide, but really. I guess without Grace, Tommy has no other friends or family to support her? Even the 911 call, which, of course, went to Wyatt, who just informs the girls and Tommy that he will inform his father as to what happened. No asking Tommy if she wants her private medical info shared, it's just done.
  16. I think in the first or second season, Gwen said she had been married to Enzo for 15(?) years? My main questions were: 1) Who were all those people at TK's party? Neither he nor Carlos have ever been shown to have friends outside the main cast. 2) Who was paying for that party? It looked expensive!
  17. When the firehouse idiots showed up to rebuild the barn, I very much wished it was going to be like on The Simpsons when Ned Flanders lost his home, and the town rebuilt it. The catch was that the townsfolk had no idea what they were doing, and the rebuilt house promptly collapsed in on itself. The one nice thing about Owen's guilt with regards to Robert is it gives a great example of why you don't ask a relative you've only just met, and clearly is not emotionally capable of handling things, to help you die before your fatal disease kills you.
  18. I really liked Olivia telling different groups different lies about what kind of party it was going to be so she could trap everyone for her murder mystery. I agree it was all very silly, but it worked well. I liked seeing the actress who plays Olivia getting an episode centered around her. She always makes the most of whatever they give her to do in a given episode.
  19. Bad writing and meh acting combine to make a very silly storyline where Carlos literally goes from almost murdering someone by mistake to asking that the wedding go on as planned. If I were TK, I might demand that Carlos get some help to deal with all his conflicting emotions before putting the wedding back on the calendar. I would agree. Yes, TK was born to a Jewish mother, and maybe he said he had a bar mitzvah(?), but I don't think we've really seen anything from him to indicate he's observant. And yes Judd, you are not a physical therapist, nor are you an occupational therapist. You have no idea what you are doing, and Wyatt very obviously needs help from professionals who aren't emotionally invested in this process.
  20. If you want to feel old, that episode just turned 30 last week.
  21. It was like they didn't know how to end the episode, so they just threw a bunch of ideas in a hat and picked one. The abrupt shift in tone did not work, and it felt like they were almost making light of what happened before. I also didn't understand Margo Martindale apologizing for being so awful to the crew during the week? Was something cut? I recall her being pleasant throughout the episode. Finally, I still don't understand how this ship only seems to have two nurses and one doctor who are on duty 24/7 throughout the cruise, but all three seem to have all this free time to participate in wedding rehearsals, laying out by the pool, etc.
  22. It's not like Dick Wolf is writing these episodes himself. I presume elite private schools are a well that has been gone to a number of times because they show up in the news every now and then for acting badly or doing something crazy sounding. Also, just the general drama inherent in those schools with wealthy, demanding parents, stressed out students and all the pressure on the staff.
  23. I don't mind her. I do notice that she is a bigger presence on the police side of the show than Dixon and Van Buren typically were. I mean, it's an interrogation in a case where the police think you murdered someone. It's going to be a high stress situation regardless. I thought Brady made a mistake in telling the girl she could go home, but it was a situation that could go either way. I believe she did ask the girl if she wanted a break during the interrogation and the girl refused.
  24. Would they? It's very hard to re-open a claim where the person voluntarily pled guilty and allocuted. You typically need good cause. You have to have a very good argument for the Judge as to why your prior testimony, given under oath, about killing the victim should be set aside and your plea withdrawn. You also need the cooperation of the defendant, and I doubt this one would agree to anything that could potentially lead to her daughter being jailed.
  25. I rolled my eyes at his storming off when Teddy told him the other woman kissed her. Though I'll give the writers some credit and perhaps Teddy getting kissed by the doctor reminded him of her lies about Allison and how he unknowingly ended up agreeing to name their kid after Teddy's dead girlfriend.
