Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
CalicoKitty replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
Perhaps all the moving of money between LLCs didn't impress the judge. It may have been moved from Josh's name to Anna's, but it is still in Josh's immediate family. Unless Josh blew through it all, or hid money elsewhere, there should be money in Anna's LLCs. I would be surprised if she knows anything about her finances, and that she just signed some papers as ordered. I think JB and his lawyer still have control. I'm sure any knowledge of family finances is strictly the headship's job. -
Mech was helping with Freddy, so I wonder how upset she and JB are. Surely they knew the book was coming.

Interesting that Jill is using "Duggar" instead of her married name, but maybe it is because she has the name recognition.

Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp

It really creeps my out to see people walking barefoot in a hospital. Aside from things you can't see but can step on, like syringe caps, the floors are covered in stuff you don't really want to know about. Yes, floors get mopped, and things get wiped up, but stuff I've seen on hospital floors is not stuff I would want to walk in. My hospital shoes--well, any shoes--are kept in the garage and never see the inside of my house. Why do I want the germs off the sidewalk and street on my floors?? If I got off a little late Sunday mornings and didn't have time to shower and change my clothes, I wouldn't go to church. I knew what was on my uniform, and I didn't think anyone would appreciate sitting by me. I wish hospitals in general would enforce wearing footwear for everyone in a hospital. -

She may have been going to school for more training. Who knows? They don't post very often. The hospital where I was an RN employed LVNs on the post delivery floor. They could do basic patient care and pass certain meds. They were a huge help. LVNs could not work in labor and delivery or the NICU, however. Their scope of practice has restrictions. Right now, RNs and LVN/LPNs are in great need and jobs are very plentiful with good salaries. Even working part-time would bring in good income. -
Danielle and Mohamed: The Original Mess

That may be true. The only time I ever wore my cap was at my RN capping ceremony. It looks like she was wearing her hair up. I've seen people look worse than this. -

I'm glad she found a useful job that she likes. I hope she does her job well. It is a hard job. -
Those kids seemed very nice. I had the impression that the dad wanted to relocate his house by a lake when the kids were off at school. I didn't think he wanted to travel with it. But I'm sure some tiny house owners think that.

Maybe an epilepsy dog? They are trained to warn their owner if an episode is coming on so the owner can get to a safe place like a chair. I found it interesting this year at the AKC dog show, one handler was showing and handling her own dog, and it was a trained epilepsy dog, and the owner had epilepsy. I've seen an epilepsy detecting dog at the theater once. It sat under the seat in front of the lady. I would not like to find out that this is someone who makes up training credentials just because she wants to take her dog places.

I wonder, has she ever seen the movie? Not too much to complain about, in my opinion. Or, did someone tell her about it and she is making her own judgements? Maybe she saw the big Thanksgiving turkey and didn't like all that food for a family of only 4 people. Wouldn't want to give her family any ideas such as actually eating a full meal.

The Lonely Js Club: James, Jackson & Johannah
CalicoKitty replied to SpaghettiTuesdays's topic in Counting On
Dave and Pris posted pictures of them staying in their stateroom reading the Bible when they went on a cruise. I guess they just came out to eat. I wonder how many of this group have become more "worldly" and participated in activities. A Carnival Cruise can be pretty lively in ways they are not used to. -
I noticed that Jill made sure to point out that the bike was a "deal". Even so, I would think her grifting income will become smaller when her "followers" finally figure out she can afford unnecessary things like e-bikes while they are barely feeding their own families. Or--maybe not. I would laugh if that bike was a stolen one that he bought in some dark alley, or if it was a used bike that needed a lot of parts. I hope someone tested it before Jill took off for a ride.

He is a cute baby, but my heart breaks for him because he will grow up uneducated with little hope for a productive future. He deserves better. -

Scandinavian people I know pronounce more like a cross between "Gooner" and Guhnner. There is also Gunther (I have known several). There have been many times at the hospital that I wanted to tell parents that they were spelling the baby's name wrong, which I'm sure they didn't mean to do, but we were not allowed to. Robbertt is one I remember. The parents were from Southeast Asia and wanted their son to have an American name. At least they tried. Joy has no excuse, except that she has very little education. If you are going to use a trendy name you should probably know how to spell it. -

This seems to be a popular name around here. The lady who works at the vet office named her new son Gunnar. Personally, I have not seen it spelled with an "e", but it is not that odd of a name. Growing up in a Scandinavian community, I knew several Gunnars (and Lars, and Erik and Herbert) -
Most Roombas can be started by your phone, by pushing the button on top by hand, or by setting up a schedule and it will run on its own. I think you can set it up to control by voice via Amazon Alexa, but I just have mine set up on a schedule. Monday and Thursday mornings at 9:00 it starts cleaning on its own. I can make it stop and go back to its charging station through the app on my phone if I want it to stop before it is done. I can always tell it to clean at extra times as well. It can be pretty self sufficient.

The hats are unisex--pink and blue stripes. We used the same hats at the hospital where I worked. They just come off as all pink in the photo.
