This whole situation would have been avoided if Jessa had kept her very private family situation off social media. I'm very sorry for her loss, but I am not sorry for the flak she herself has stirred up. Anyone with her "media experience" would have known how this would end up. No one pried into her life and gave a story to the paparazzi, she brought this on herself.

When I was a kid, my grandparents (well, my grandfather, mainly) converted an old school bus into a "camping vehicle". I don't remember it having any power in it, such as a stove or refrigeration. They took me along on a trip from CA to Iowa, and I remember sitting in the stairway by the door and watching the scenery as we drove. As I remember, it was a fun trip, but there was nothing fancy about it. Betsey the Bus was retired, and my grandparents bought a small Winnebago camper. I think it was an improvement over the school bus, but I never traveled in it. I was watching some home makeover-type show, and two women bought an old bus. It was a total wreck, complete with bullet holes in the side. It was absolutely beautiful when the show finished with it.

I thought they were Southern Baptist, not IFB. But maybe I have confused the with other people.

QVC has it in a couple of custom colors for $149 plus change plus shipping, so about the same price.
-
Yes. You might to check the price on QVC also. Halo Bolt.

Well, I was nearly dumped in the Grand Canal in Venice one evening while on a boat ride, so yes, there are things to do in the evenings. Restaurants are open at night. The cultural places like museums and churches are not, but they probably aren't too interested in those places anyway. -
I would give a portable charging block. I have a couple of the Halo brand and I always have one in my car. It is kind of like the Swiss Army knife of chargers. It has regular plugs so you can plug in a radio or lamp, USB ports to charge your phone, it will jump start your car, put air in a flat tire, it has a flashlight and an emergency light, and I think there is a flasher. It comes with its own jumper cable and the storage bag has the instructions printed on it. I don't have one in front of me, but I'm guessing it is about 8 inches x4 inches x 2 inches, so very compact. They hold a charge for over a year. I have given them as gifts, and I like knowing I have it in the car all the time. I have used it to jump start my car a couple of times. There may be other brands out there, but I have been very happy with my Halo.---They are also handy in the house during a power failure.

This morning it is snowing lightly but with howling winds. We have a storm warning in place through tomorrow, and it is expected to snow 5 inches today. However, starting tomorrow afternoon there should be sun until the next storm blows in Saturday. Then more snow for a week. The weather this year is just goofy. Very, very cold and very, very snowy. I am so looking forward to a couple of days of sun, even if it is cold. I feel for those of you in CA. I hope no one is getting much flooding. The almonds popped a couple of weeks ago, so I'm sure the ranchers are not appreciating all this rain at this time. (I miss driving through the orchards this time of year.) Everyone stay safe and warm!!

It is snowing again today. We had a small reprieve last week, and saw the sun yesterday, but is back to more snow today. Tomorrow is supposed to be heavier snow. And more snow all week and next week. I went to get my mail this morning before the storm blew in, and the wind was so hard I thought the door would blow off my car when I opened it. I made it back home just as the snow was starting to fall. So, Flora, Lily and I are staying cozy. Lily loves her fuzzy bed next to me, and Flora prefers to be on my lap with the heated throw. I had a massage appointment last week which had to be cancelled due to snow, and it was cancelled again for tomorrow. We have broken a 40-year snow record already this year, and we seem to be going for the all-time record. On the positive side, it did get to 40 degrees one day last week. Schools are closed or starting late, and government offices are closed in the State Capital. I am over this much snow, but I will probably miss it in the summer. (I hope we don't break any heat records this summer!!!!)

I'm not a camper person ( I think I could become one), but I do know that Honda sells an add-on tent for the CRV. It looks pretty nice, and has a lower price than I would expect. I would guess (maybe) that other companies make tents for rear-opening vehicles. I think that would make a pretty nice camping set-up.

Considering that the howlers were shown cleaning the cat box with their bare hands...... -

I wonder if there is some kind of tie-in with JB's theater in Branson. -

Joy had disgusting, filthy dirty feet when she went on her first (maybe) date with Austin. She dug some horrible looking, well-worn shoes out of the communal closet, and I was surprised that they would allow showing the dirt-black soles of her feet. Just ick. -
This is the only type of "education" she knows. One of the howlers (I get them mixed up) was still using basic 2nd grade math flash cards when he was about 13. Learning was never important in their household growing up. The kids only had "school" because the state made them. Roller skating in the house is a Duggar thing, too. I still cringe when I remember they showed Joy roller skating in the house while carrying a glass casserole dish between the kitchen and the table. The really sad thing is that Jessa feels so superior that she will never change. I am very disappointed in Ben. I had hopes for him. I feel so sorry for these kids. No hope, no future.

Wearing a hoodie. -
Trips to the ER are expensive. I would like to know who paid for the bills from the various ERs she went to. That would be a lot of money; even if they do have some kind of insurance there would be copayments. And did she go to several ERs hoping for a different answer? This story still sounds strange. For a self-acclaimed "God-fearing" woman, she has a strange grasp on the concept of telling truth.

They would look better if they fit. They look too wide and just too big. I get it. I am forever looking for narrow shoes. But I don't think those fit her well.

Did we just get an update on this site? There was this odd picture with "we will be back soon", and now my site looks different. The colors on the page where the forums is a different color. I didn't see any update warning.

And you know you will find a clean bathroom. -
I use Opera as my browser, and it has a great ad blocker. It also has a very simple, uncluttered home page.

California has a Delhi pronounced Del-hi. My aunt lived in Nevada, Iowa--pronounced Na-vey-da. Oh, and Tripoli, Iowa--pronounced Tip-oh-lee. I would assume the people that named these places had never heard them pronounced, but I bet they knew where in the word the places were, unlike much of the current generation. -
It is shocking. I was in charge of music at the Anglican church were I used to live, and the priest seemed to have trouble with being truthful. He lied in an email about a conversation we had had, and I left my post soon after. It really is unnerving.
