S07.E13: Sisterhood of the Traveling Beefs
nb360 replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of Potomac
Did Wendy and Mia have on the same one-shouldered outfit, just different colors? -
Yes, we see the item in question around 14:30 and 21:40 of the White episode.

I really like the premise, even though it initially felt sort of "gimmicky." The closest analogies I have for the non-linearity are the films "Memento" and "Reservoir Dogs," where the characters are named by colors and each character gets a segment in which he tells his version of events. The actress who played the young Hannah was really good (The older actress was good, too). I think my favorite episode was "Pink."

When are new episodes available on HBO Max?

As a former caregiver for a family member, I like how the show portrays the conflicting feelings the main caregiver (Paul) has. I haven't finished season 2 yet, but it seems like Paul is still trying to figure out how to have a "life" while also taking care of Bessy, the kids, and work. For me, it was a struggle. I hope Paul gets help. I'm also curious to see if the show addresses the significant financial impact caregiving has on a family. I love Sabi.

This is a really good show. I've seen the first three episodes. Anyone else watching?

Lucia?

I think the scenes trying to show Ethan's imagination (of Cameron and Harper sleeping together) kind of threw the episode "off." In Season 1, Armond had some hazy visions when he was drugged up and those came off better, perhaps because we knew Armond had been on drugs. Ethan apparently isn't taking anything (not even ambien).

I think Greg is also playing "the long con," from way back in season 1. I thought it was weird how he was so overly friendly w/ Tanya when they first met and his going to the wrong hotel door just screamed "fake" to me, like he knew exactly whose door that was.

This feels true.

Same. I liked her better when she was a hard-nosed and all business.

Mia Thornton: Plastic Fantastic ... or Just Plain Tragic?
nb360 replied to eXiled's topic in The Real Housewives Of Potomac
This was so painful to watch. -
Mia was acting very juvenile... is this high school or what? "You can't be friends with me, if you're friends with my enemy." Childish! Ashley was right: Mia is acting petty. I want to know what Mia did to Peter's girlfriend. 😉 I want to hear Candiance's song... If it's called "Insecure," it sounds like it should be played for Mia.

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!

Wharton. This is a great comparison. But where is our Lily Bart?
-
I think Mia is really ghetto and trashy. She's a Marlo (from RHOA) without any humor.

I am completely with you on this. I did the "sharing rooms" thing when I was younger and I have no need or desire to go back to that.
-
That stood out to me, too. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that is the first time I've seen that line at the end of the show. If so... No, it does not bode well for an untenured tenure-track professor at Johns Hopkins University. Doesn't matter how many degrees (or publications?) she has...
-
I initially thought this, too, because of Tanya's statement that "It's not like she's going to be sleeping in our bed." But discounted this idea, primarily because of the reasons the person above mentioned...
-
It's curious that Tanya wanted to be like Monica Vitti, because this scene and Harper's version both suggest a woman who is prey for a male predator.
-
I got this sense as well. Part of me wondered if both Cameron and Daphne were doing something (together) to blackmail Ethan and Harper... Wasn't Cameron the one who "invited" them on this trip?

Are you an English major, perchance?

Like a Black woman's Wall Street? (Eric in the Michael Douglas role: "Greed is good.") (I just started season 2, Eric is gone???)
