  1. HGTV's "Home Town Takeover" shows local contractors and work people. I'd love it if "Bargain Block" did the same. Also, I'd be interested in seeing how the men deal with loan officers. What goes into the loan decision from the bank's perspective?
  2. I would love this show a little bit more if the buyers/developers were from the neighborhood, say perhaps, residents in the area or from someplace near Detroit trying to learn how to flip. Or maybe, even if the current leads of the show hired neighborhood residents for demo work or for painting. Yes, that would cut into their profit but it would also be offering local residents jobs -- and houses. Also, Shay's voice kind of annoys me, for some reason. edited: Just saw akg's comment. I'm glad you said it first. I want to see African Americans revitalizing their neighborhoods. There is a "white savior" element, perhaps unintentional, that makes it hard for me to enjoy this show.
  3. I feel like the later seasons moved away from the kids and that's something I enjoyed in the first season. Seeing Axe as a faithful husband and devoted (as much as his schedule allowed) father was a nice switch from the "expected" kind of wealthy, cheating male character we usually see. I would like to know how Axe's and Wendy/Chuck's kids are doing. Dare I say it, what would happen if there was some kind of dating angle between the set of kids? Or maybe some version of the college admissions scandal??? That, too, is probably, "expected." But I would love to see how (and what) the children are doing.
  4. It's a guys' show with the kind of women those kind of guys would like (Wendy, Lara, etc).
  5. What do people think of open shelving in the bathroom? I'm thinking about adding four 24 in shelves in my bathroom, two on each side of the bathroom mirror.
  6. The episode that aired on March 8: was that new or a re-run??
  7. Edited: I have an idea for a show... but will I get any credit for the pitch??? 🙂
  8. I like the shows where the budget is very limited, $150,000 or less. I like the episode with the two young women buying their first house -- it was nice to see their reactions.
  9. This show is giving me a lot of comfort during the pandemic. There’s something about having only two choices that seems so simple, so easy. And I love the sister/brother banter between Hillary and Dave.
  10. The couple moving from Australia to Scotland: I give the marriage one more year, max. They seem too different and want different things.
  11. I didn't like the episode with the "insurance guy" who was primarily interested in the price per sq. ft. I understand the need to make a good investment with a home purchase... but he seemed a little too capitalistic. (Not that there's anything wrong with that!) I just like seeing people who are trying to buy their forever homes.
  12. Umm... when someone says they're falling "in like" with you, isn't that a way of saying you'd like to be friends?
  13. I liked this house, too. I wish I knew where to find the rug and curtains in this house. The house was very "welcoming."
  14. Yes, this is one of the reasons why I'm drawn to this show. I do think the budget for some of the renovations are extravagant but the low cost of the house kinda makes up for that.
  15. I loved La La. It would be great if they do an update and see how she and the grandkids are liking the house. Also, I would love to know the backstory to her tattoos, wigs, and contacts.
  16. You know, I would love to see a show that highlights buying homes on a middle-class budget, say someone making between $50-100,000 a year and figuring out what kind of renovations could be made with that person's salary / budget.
  17. OMG. You're right especially when Rich Chris rolls his eyes!
  18. Can you provide a link for this? I'm curious to see what else was said. It would explain why Gizelle was so quiet (despondent?) for most of the reunion.
  19. Yes, it's like someone is saying there are lazy Moms. It sort of plays on a mother's worst fear: that she's not doing enough for her children, spouse, household, appearance, etc.
  20. Yes, but washing a toddler is much easier -- and less messier -- in a tub than a shower.😘
  21. I was really impressed with the renovation of the house for the engaged couple. I would love to have that remote-controlled TV cabinet and the outside of the house was beautiful. My only concern is that, at some point, the couple will have kids and they will need a bathtub which is now gone in the remodel.

  23. Ok. So now Broke Chris is also getting my sympathy. WTF, Bravo?
