  1. ☝️☝️This. Grace wanted to keep it secret, even from Cassie. Cassie was on her game this episode. Her shopping spree was to pick items that she knew would be needed. (e.g hinges, door knobs, giving hints to Stephanie to look under the stairs, having Grace go into the attic to find the piggy bank; which led to her trip to the bank and the tip about recycling and not needing recognition). I didn't like everyone's hints to Sam, especially Cassie's. She seemed to keep waiting for Sam to profess his love. Sam is right, Cassie knows how he feels, and I know everybody likes to hear the words, but it sort of became uncomfortable. Let Sam come around when HE'S ready. Again, Abigail is in everyone's business. Please, please, find Abigail either a love interest or something else to do. I sense her boredom with the flower shop. Martha was really childish with her hiding and screeching voice. Like fingernails on a blackboard.
  2. Oh I don't think it was that on the show, I mean I feel like I read that in actual history one of the reasons for killing Rizzio in front of Mary was to induce a miscarriage. But I can't find any sources so maybe I was thinking of someone else... From Wikipedia (which, by no means, is definitive), "David Rizzio, sometimes written as David Riccio or David Rizzo (c. 1533 – 9 March 1566), was an Italian courtier, born close to Turin, a descendant of an ancient and noble family still living in Piedmont, the Riccio Counts di San Paolo e Solbrito, who rose to become the private secretary of Mary, Queen of Scots. Mary's husband, Lord Darnley, is said to have been jealous of their friendship, because of rumours that he had impregnated Mary, and joined in a conspiracy of Protestant nobles, led by Patrick Ruthven, 3rd Lord Ruthven, to murder him. The murder was the catalyst for the downfall of Darnley, and it had serious consequences for Mary's subsequent career. Mary was having dinner with Riccio and a few ladies-in-waiting when Darnley joined them, accused his wife of adultery and then had someone murder Riccio, who was hiding behind Mary. Mary was held at gunpoint and Riccio was stabbed numerous times. His body had over 50 wounds."
  3. Seems like most people have given up on "Reign". It's in its last throes. Anyway, I don't think the purpose for the savage murder was to induce a miscarriage, the Lord that incited the crime was using the whole disaster to silence Rizzio from announcing the Lord's pecadillios with other men. You'll notice he wanted to silence Rizzio just when he attempted to speak and he said, "All lies".
  4. What did you think of Abigail hijacking Cassie's and Sam's romantic dinner and machinations with regard to the guests at Grey House, for her own purposes? She orchestrated Grace and Nick's "Break-In" of Martha's office simply to draw Cassie and Sam away from their dinner, so that the two Grey House guests can mingle just to end the interminable week. Meddling for selfish reasons?
  5. Well, if you liked Colin Ferguson as the Sheriff in "Eureka", you definitely won't like him as a bad guy in another "small town w/quirky residents" series, "Haven". Almost all of the residents had "Troubles" (special powers which randomly caused havoc) Another Syfy series no longer in production. Oh, I forgot Cassie was once the Mayor of the town. Isn't that when she was running against Martha and Martha had a "Salem witch" campaign?
  6. Well, "Twin Peaks" is getting a re-boot, so you'll get a chance to compare the original with the re-boot. Now, I hate to admit this and I'll deny it when asked directly, but for a "fish out of water" in the Physicians category, I watched all but the last season of "Hart of Dixie". Rachel Bilson played a newly minted MD from New York City who winds up owning half of a practice in Bluebell, Alabama. Talk about quirky characters. Like Gilmore Girls' Stars Hollow, & The Good Witch's Middleton, Bluebell, Alabama was always having some daily annual parade, contest, or town function.
  7. I've been looking for "Northern Exposure" for a few years now and I still can't find it. I've got Netflix, Hulu, & Amazon Prime and I still cannot find "Northern Exposure". I saw the first episode and forgot about it and now I can't find it again.
  8. Yes, I understand that. What I'm saying is that the audience could have been confused about the events transpiring, so the "rewinding of the clock" was a symbol to demonstrate what was happening. Otherwise, the events could have been accepted "as is" naturally. If not for Cassie rewinding the clock, what would YOU have thought was happening?
  9. So the purpose of her winding the clock backwards was just symbolic, and not a representation of what was actually happening?
  10. Hmm, a few people had misgivings about this episode. I was watching and looked up at the time and realized that I still had another 30 minutes to go until the end. I decided to bail. I bailed basically for two reasons: 1) It WAS sort of boring & 2) I hate the "Groundhogs Day" trope. I've only been interested in two Groundhogs Day shows (the original with Bill Murray & the series finale "Unending", for "Stargate SG-1". Other than those two, the concept is just tedious to watch. With this episode of "The Good Witch", I found some things rather interesting though. The fact that Grace and Abigail eventually caught on to what was happening, and that this revelation implies that while they were in the time loop, they were also able to deduce who was causing the rift. It was at this pivotal moment that I decided to stop watching and figured I would pick it up again on another day. I am curious, though, to see how it was resolved. I believe this is the actual first time that we, as the audience, witnessed Cassie performing actual magic outside of her ability to sense emotions and foresee the future. She HAS been able to influence events but I don't recall her ever actually changing time to affect the future. While Grace just took the time loop in stride and just kept herself busy playing Labyrinth on Nick's cell phone; Abigail grew more & more frustrated with Cassie's meddling. I found both of their attitudes a true reflection of their character. Grace, graceful and easy-going; Abigail, angry and impatient when things don't go her way. (Maybe that's just my judgment of their personality)
  11. If it wasn't for the last scene, I would have said this episode was a bit anticlimactic. I can't believe that Oliver wouldn't have suspected that Chase gave up too easily. Both the flashbacks (gotta love Anatoly) and the current scenes were a bit dull. (All the makings of a penultimate episode) The only highlights were Thea's return (please bring her back!!), Dinah's growing role with the team and a slight defrosting of the Olicity tension. Curtis is okay, but he's a bit of a comedian that needs to tone it down a bit. Rene? I just don't know what they can do about Rene. I'd gladly give up Rene so that he can raise his daughter and bring back Rory. Ragman was a unique character. All Rene has is his guns, and we've got Diggs for that. I don't know a damn thing about ladies' fashion styles but I know what usually is appealing for me to look at. Usually, Felicity wears tight skirts (red or blue, with blue being my favorite to watch her in) but that crap she was wearing made me think of one thing...she's hiding a pregnancy. Also, her calves looked a lot fuller than usual. Now, I don't really think she's pregnant, but that outfit hid WAY too much of Emily Bett Rickards for my liking. p.s. William's mother is played by Anna Hopkins, she was the uniformed hottie named Berlin, in the Syfy series "Defiance". I know those lips anywhere.
  12. What options do you have to watch television programming? I usually try to watch live (cable) but if I'm too busy, I just DVR it. If it comes on and I didn't set the DVR (like what happened to episode #2, which I can't find anywhere, almost believe there wasn't an episode #2), I just watch it on On Demand (again, cable). I don't know if Hallmark has an app that streams their programs, but if they don't you could try online. madfortv, The Hallmark Channel has both online viewing and viewing anywhere with their app. The only stipulation is that your cable service is one of those listed with them and you have an active account. I would assume, since you're able to watch "The Good Witch" live, you qualify on both accounts. They run the current episodes for a limited time. (season 3 episode #2 expires on 5/14/2017 - I may get to watch that episode after all) Just go to http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/ and create an account with them. They will ask you to verify which cable subscriber you have and then you log on to your cable subscriber through the Hallmark Channel. You'll be able to watch episodes anytime before they expire. This is how most online channels set up their viewing with cable providers. Good luck.
  13. I used to think "Gilmore Girls" was a show geared towards a particular gender <cough, cough>. An ex-girlfriend used to ask me to watch the show and I refused. Anyway, years later I watched the show for laughs and realized that the Gilmore girls had their own unique language when they spoke, and it was actually pretty funny. Being an ex-New Yorker, I was accustomed to fast-talkers. Long story short, Stars Hollow had the same sort of residents in the town; people would drift in & out of various shops as if nobody worked. I think that's part of the quaint atmosphere of quirky shows. As far as Sam goes, more often than not, he always seems to be on the hunt for Cassie, and rarely works out of his office. I find myself wondering when does he actually have time for his patients. He's sort of like the Doc Martin of Middleton, as in the only doctor in town, although his escapades aren't as funny.
  14. I may have let my response to this statement lapse, so I don't know if I already pressed "Submit", anyway, this question is hilarious. I mean in a funny way, not as a criticism. Last year, I treated my three sons to a vacation in beautiful Vancouver, B.C., Canada. (We all live in the U.S.) My sons, (the YOUNGEST is 33 yrs. old) are sort of "Pro-cannabis", if you get my meaning, and researched Vancouver's weed laws. Vancouver, is one of the more enlightened cities in North America and have legal "Cannabis clubs" or Dispensaries, as they like to call them. So, for James, as the Guardian, busting a dealer/buyer transaction for weed is ludicrous. I realize that National City is a fictional city and like Smallville, Metropolis, Gotham, Central City, and Star City, and other cities located in the DCVerse, are fictional cities presumably located in the United States, and are governed by the somewhat anachronistic laws on the books today. Why the writers of comic book shows would have a "superhero" bust two dudes (alien or human) over a purchase of weed, is beyond me. Sorry writers, the crime-fighting duo of Guardian and Winn should be after bigger fish than two dudes in a back-alley score. Just plain silly writers! No wonder James feels like he's meant for something bigger.
  15. Black sheep, I agree with, but I'm having difficulty seeing her solutions as eventually positive. When she first appeared on the show, I kind of remember a lot of negativity between her and Cassie. I think the show did a partial flashback showing the life of the Grey Lady. I would like to see a flashback showing Cassie and Abigail as kids growing up. To me, Grace is a young Cassie whose powers will grow as she matures. Martha HAS developed as the show progressed. However, she was sort of a shrew early on. When she took over her husband's role as Mayor, she was very pushy and actually tried to get Cassie branded as a witch to be run out of town. I think her "fondness" for the town is due more to her underlying desire to see the town's wellbeing as a reflection of her own desire to be well regarded. I don't know if I'm making sense here, :) but I think she craves adoration from the townspeople. She's myopic and easily bends to the suggestions of others.
  16. Originally, I had thought that Abigail (corrected spelling now; no more "Abegail", sorry!) snipped the plant because of her comment about liking the plant and wishing she had one for her shop. However that was another one of the Red Herrings the writers tried to throw at us, but when Abigail started experiencing the same difficulties that Cassie and Grace were going through, I dismissed her as a suspect. I wonder what Sam was thinking when he noticed that Cassie was behaving oddly. She never confirms his suspicions. Perhaps, he'll begin to wonder what's up and question Cassie about his theories. I know he's painted as a skeptic, but he seems to have a vey loving relationship with Cassie and they should be more honest with each other. stillbored, I'm with you about Abigail, as I said. She's WAY too shifty and duplicitous for my tastes. I don't know why she was pressuring Stephanie and her boyfriend to put their money together to buy the theatre. Also, her maneuvers to get that flower shop were a bit nasty. In fact, nearly everyone in the town is aboveboard, EXCEPT Abigail. I may be mistaken, but wasn't Abigail vying for a relationship with Sam in the first season? I guess she sees herself in competition with Cassie. Envy? Also, the way she USED her former employee to do all the work while she did nothing still pisses me off. ps. I'm curious to hear what others thought that led to the plant finally blooming. I vote for the romantic hand holding between Cassie and Sam as they sat on the bench in front of the plant.
  17. The writers tried to throw in Red Herrings, because it was pretty obvious that it was the botanist who snipped the plant. However, I'm not sure if a true botanist would snip a unique plant. Just the thought of it goes against anything a true botanist would do. (Listen to me, I know nothing about plants!!!) It just seems WRONG. I was just hoping that it wasn't Sam's son. Sorry, I'm with KLovestoShop about Martha. Can't stand her OR her voice. There's no subtlety about her acting. She's so damn vapid, egotistical, and loud. I guess that's what the part calls for. Although, I think the actress who plays Abegail, is hot, (loved her as Pawter on "Killjoys"), her character confuses me. Sometimes she's sneaky, and other times she seems sincere. Last season, she seemed to be going behind Cassie's back, especially when dealing with Grace and trying to turn her into a rebel. Stay OUT of Grace's life! She's just fine the way she is. Okay, here is where I draw the ire of the females posting here. Catherine Bell is a VERY attractive woman, however, I'm glad that whatever was done to her mouth has been straightened out. It was SO distracting. She's back to being the cutie-pie she always was. Yes, I said "cutie-pie", so sue me. Finally, am I seeing things or are there a couple of actors in this show that are also acting in the CW's "Reign"? Cassie's son looks like Mary, Queen of Scots', brother, James. Also, the guy that tried to swindle Abegail, is Claude's new husband in "Reign". (He also played Nick, a werewolf, on "Bitten").
  18. What made this episode especially unique was the fact that Liv, rather than acting in a manner indicative of the deceased's profession, was drawn to the unknown quirk of the salesperson, her penchant for gossip. It caught both Liv and Clive by surprise. Meaning sometimes, Liv herself is unaware of the subtle transformations.
  19. While I am not ready (yet!) to get on the "Ugg Peyton" bandwagon (I always thought she was a major league hottie), her infatuation with Blaine (who I have detested since his "Fringe" days) is disgusting. Also, not a way to be a true friend to Liv, Major, and Ravi. I do want to promote Rose McIver's (Liv) nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy on TV category. She has taken over Tatiana Maslany's top spot for the "Multiple Roles in a Single Television Series". Although, Maslany is outstanding in her roles, a large part of her roles are makeup, hairstyles, gaits and mannerisms. She IS gifted. McIver, however, not only has to portray herself, but a new character every single episode and has to differentiate the character solely through facial expressions, mannerisms, speech, and demeanor. I wonder which actress has the most difficult job? This question may have been posed to posters on another thread but I'll go ahead and ask posters their opinion on why it seems that Liv, and now major (for a single episode), are the only two "zombies" that take on the characteristics of the person whose brain they partake of? Is it solely because that is the main premise of the show and they want to focus on Liv's transformations and not clutter the episodes with too much switching of personalities? They've indicated, at Major's Zombie Training Camp that others have experienced the same effect but they don't really show it. Is this just a simple case of "Tell" not "Show"? Don't get me wrong, I think Liv's transformations are spectacular and very well acted, and they serve the double purpose of confusing Clive and Ravi, who have learned to expect them but always seem surprised when it happens. Maybe the answer is really quite simple and I don't think it's an accidental plot hole, but it seems that it is quite deliberate by the show runner/writers.
  20. Umm, my first thought was that she missed him and just needed an excuse to see him. Occam's Razor. She had already said a few episodes ago, that she thought the new Alderman was a creep!
  21. Thank you!!!! There are two sides to every story. Sometimes you don't see the other person's side, but sometimes you do. The death of a child takes a huge toll on the parents. Most couples can persevere, but with a newborn it is especially hard. I've known couples that could not cope when their newborn did not survive. Heck, my best friends lost their twin newborns and it really wrecked them. They both suffered and I'm sure both April and Jackson suffered as well. I'm not going to say that April suffered more, because she was carrying Samuel, but maybe she did. I know that very few of the posters here like Kepner but I actually like her character. That may be because I like Sarah Drew as an actress. She was a one-off quirky "single White female" in an episode of "Wonderfalls", and of course she played a similar character, Hannah, as the one she's playing now, in "Everwood". I've only seen Jesse Williams in that horror movie, so I don't know his body of work. It was a difficult episode to watch, especially after the fascinating episode, "The Sound of Silence", but their story needed to be told, and seriously, did anyone REALLY want to see a story about Amelia and Owen? Besides, it was great seeing the "Dance Off" again and the quick snippet of Michelle Oh.
  22. Damn people!!! This was, perhaps, the BEST episode of the season. Maybe even the best episode in 4 or 5 seasons. Ellen Pompeo and Justin Chambers knocked it out of the park. Direction, writing, camera work, acting; ALL top notch. The silence during the 4/5th of the episode, was "Hush" (BtVS) quality. I believe this episode was Emmy Award material with Ellen Pompeo and Justin Chambers nominated for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. Perhaps, Denzel Washington deserves a mention for Best Director. Mer & Alex, are FRIENDS. There's NOTHING going on there. He's her PERSON. Jo finally understands that. A "Person" transcends marital relations! Derek and Owen understood that and now Jo understands that as well. I expected Michelle Oh, to make a surprise appearance, but Justin Chambers filled in admirably.
  23. This looks like it's going to be somewhat lame fun. However, it reminds me of "Transporter: The Series". Vance always managed to get the upper hand and in comical ways. The villains were always so stupid and we used to laugh and have fun with the show. It didn't take itself too seriously. This show almost has that same level of stupidity from the bad guys, but it hasn't managed to go over the top yet. @Dowel Jones, "Maria Thighsofironski" is a hilarious joke name for his nemesis, but you just know their banter will eventually lead them to the bed. At least I hope so, She's great, and Sharon is till looking fine, although they do soften her image a bit when she's on screen. They shouldn't though. She's a good looking woman and they shouldn't "soften" her up. FFS, she's SHARON STONE. The bad guys always manage to wait 3-4 seconds before they even begin to shoot, regardless if they are looking at you or not. Even some of the FBI guards showed the same level of stupidity. One agent even stared at a hospital door that was just shot up, as if wondering if those were bullet holes or not. of course he was shot while still staring at the door.
  24. Wow, tough crowd. I thought this was one of their best episodes yet. I applaud the Director for really stringing sequences together almost flawlessly, especially the end sequence starting with President Wallace, to Cage, to the 47, and then that slow walk with Clarke, Octavia, Indra, and crew. Like the description of the episode says, Clarke stepped up. She had an almost commanding presence when she told the guard, "Don't". I have to admit, Eliza Taylor and Lindsey Morgan, are better actors than Marie Avgeropoulos. As for Abby, I'm a huge Paige Turco fan and enjoyed her as Zoe on "Person of Interest". Her character is that of a strong-willed woman who raised an equally strong- willed daughter. I know, as a mother, she's afraid for her daughter, but really, she should be proud. I did miss Lexa, though. I like her character and I want to see more of her and Clarke together. They make a good team.
  25. Hey All, I'm a new member of Previously.TV and I am thankful for a place that still allows episode discussions of TV shows. I used to post to TV.com and TWOP, but those two sites no longer allow posting. Well, TV.com does, but most visitors no longer post there and TWOP has gone belly up. Anyway, I did mange to catch up on "Parenthood" after starting to watch it around a month ago. I've been meaning to watch this series because I'm a big fan of Lauren Graham (such a hottie, yeah, I'm a dude) and drooled all the time watching her on GG. (Something I told an ex-girlfriend I would NEVER do because it was just for chicks - I know, I went there) Anyway, I just want to vent my anger about a few things. First things first; Zeek, go to Hell. I never understood why his family tolerates this insensitive a$$hole. I'm sure they all love him, but I never understood why. My main complaint about Zeek is that he feels this incessant need to involve himself in everybody's business, but when you try to talk to him about HIS business, the first thing out of his mouth is that "It's none of your business!". Dude, shut up. Camille should be canonized for Sainthood. Next up, and this should be a group award, "Worst Family on Television", and the award goes to Adam, Kristina, AND Max. Max used to be tolerable, but the writers, for some reason, have turned him into a loathsome character. He bares no resemblance to the kid from earlier seasons. I would think he should be mellowing out right now and getting a hand on his Aspergers. However, right now he's just a plot-driven caricature. I never understood why his parents tolerated such behavior. Gaby did a wonderful job with him, and since Crosby (I don't want to even get started talking about the man-child Crosby) screwed that up - literally, Max has gone downhill ever since and his parents just tolerate it. I'm cool with everyone else. I like Joel and Julia; I can take Sydney for small stretches, because I understand her frustrations. Her parents bring in this sullen kid, Victor, then separate. It IS rather traumatic for a child. I have three grown sons and ten grandchildren, so I've been there. Sarah, (what can I say, Lauren Graham) but she DOES have this knack for picking the wrong guys. (Ahem, Christopher, the shithead from GG) and while I basically like Hank, his character has fluctuated this season. The writers just aren't consistent with their characters this season and are either mailing it in or they just don't give a shit. What a shame. Anyway, I feel better getting this crap off my chest.
