  1. Psst, psst, "Stepford Wives"......shhh! J/K, I think that's in keeping with the Hallmark channel MO. Earlier posters likened it to "After School Specials" or Valium City. Middleton is an Angst-Free Zone. Only Martha has the proprietary rights to Angst
  2. That was my initial thought, but when she pulled out her gun on the boardwalk and pointed it at Chef's brother, you could clearly see her stomach beneath her surprisingly short blouse; she didn't appear pregnant. Perhaps the trench coat wasn't secure and kept opening up? I don't know, but it was odd.
  3. Lucifer's phone while checking out Chet's body. Gotta love Luci's Texts to Amenadiel:
  4. Speaking of Chloe's purple trenchcoat, is it just me or was there something unusual about the way Chloe kept holding her left hand over her stomach while she was wearing that coat? I kept looking at her left hand and it didn't move from that position. At the scene where Chet's "Extra Crispy" body was found, Chloe complimented Ella and Ella hugged her for the kind words. Chloe's right hand held Ella in the surprise hug, but I never saw her left hand appear.
  5. Thanks for the welcome. I've been posting to this site for a while, just not in the Lucifer forum. All my previous go-to forum sites have quietly folded. (e.g. TWoP, TV.com) If anyone is interested, YouTube has a lot of "Lucifer" behind the scenes videos posted by AfterBuzz TV (just go to YouTube and run a search for "Afterbuzz Behind the Scenes Lucifer"). AfterbuzzTV also produces many podcasts for most TV shows. p.s. I have no affiliation with AfterBuzz TV, I just like their podcasts. Speaking of, how are the podcasts from Previously.TV? I haven't checked them out yet.
  6. I haven't posted in this forum before but I just want to add two things to this thread. First, in my opinion, this was the best damn episode of "Lucifer" yet. I know they cut the number of episodes short and wanted to move the last four episodes of this season into the next season. However, I'm happy that they did. This was a special episode and needed to be a season finale in its own right. All the players shined and made this a memorable episode. My second addition is a question to be put out to this thread: Is it possible, that this ending was a Flashback to when Lucifer first landed on Earth? I know a lot of fans wanted to see Lucifer "pre-Los Angeles"; could this be it?
  7. Hey, I liked "No Ordinary Family". It starred another fan favorite of mine, Julie Benz (Darla "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer", "Angel"). Too bad they ended it after the first season; on a cliffhanger too. You're right, though, these types of shows either grow old fast or are not given enough time to work out the kinks. (I'm thinking of you, FOX) I didn't realize that "The Gifted" is set in the X-Men Universe; isn't "Legion" also set in the X-Men Universe? Okay, now I'm confused about your comment of "SG" & "The Gifted" airing back-to-back. That's means you're changing channels from The CW to FOX and you're somehow skipping FOX's best show in a couple of years, "Lucifer". :-(
  8. It's going to be weird seeing Cress Williams as Black Lightning. Especially without that silly hat he always wore on "Hart of Dixie". I hope the show can survive and prosper. I'll give it a good look. Speaking of carbon copies, FOX will air a new series in the Fall called, "The Gifted". It's in the mold of the latest trend of shows, mentally powered people. It does offer a new vehicle for one of my favorite stars, Amy Acker (Root "Person of Interest", Winifred Burkle "Angel").
  9. I think you're giving Jackson motives that aren't there. I believe that Jackson truly had feelings for April, he was just confused and in some respects, angry, with April. Angry because she seemed to be blaming him for the loss of her virginity and her break with her Faith. April, during this time, inadvertently boasted of her virginity and when it was discovered that she had pre-marital sex with Jackson, she took a lot of derision from other staff. Jackson "knew" April wanted to go down this path, but had no intention of taking advantage of her weakness nor did he want to be blamed by her. Jackson is not a religious man and he just couldn't understand her position.
  10. While I surmise that you're enjoying discussing "Grey's Anatomy" with other fans, I have to wonder why you would post to this particular thread. In truth, this IS spoiler territory for you. Will you still be able to fully enjoy the series knowing what's to come? For instance, Lexie's death; it hit us all very hard (as well as other deaths) and yet you've indicated that you're dreading the incident that led to her death. Doesn't that take away your own personal feelings regarding such an incident?
  11. We should acknowledge that there is a big difference between the "Supergirl" TV show on CBS and the one on The CW. The two networks do have a different perspective on how the series should flow. CBS focused more on domestic and intergalactic challenges for Kara without too much interpersonal drama. The CW tends to focus more on interpersonal drama with a dollop of intergalactic challenges and a dash of domestic incidents. Other superhero shows on The CW also have a lot of personal drama between the characters. The "Flash" focused it's entire season on saving Iris West, Barry Allen's love interest. On "Arrow", every single character was undergoing some personal crisis with their S.O.'s. "Legends" had their own mix of issues not strictly related to the arc of the season. Now, I'm not saying that the way CBS handled their version of "Supergirl" was any better or worse than the version on The CW. Viewers have their own preference.
  12. I think the point was as the previews said, "A visiting chef can't relax, so she follows Cassie's advice and spends a day stirring a recipe in order to quiet her mind." Cassie killed two birds with one stone on that one. The chef learned to chill out and not be so overbearing with her staff and urge them to chill out also. Meanwhile, she got her to make the Caramel sauce that is Grace's favorite. I agree, Cassie is too sweet, but perhaps we can all learn to quiet our inner turmoil. The woman is a Saint, though. She was able to grin, and bare the chef's constant refrain about moving items. Grace, channeled her mom, took it all in stride and pointed out that Cassie most definitely had everything she would need to cook, while she quietly gathered the ingredients. As far as lessons learned, the show is rather formulaic right now. It was better when they had the mystery of the cut plant. One thing I want to say, Middleton is NOT a quaint little town. Arial views reveal a rather large city. I guess the concentration on Grey House and Cassie's shop makes one think they're living in Stars Hollow when the actual town is much larger.
  13. Well, Meredith and Jo's situation comes to a head, but they end up working it out. As far as Meredith and Alex, I will admit that Meredith became needy for a while once Christina left and other events transpired. However, Alex is her "Person" now, and they both understand the rules of that relationship. They both need each other, and frankly, I think they would go to war with anybody who hurts the other. A lot of people speculated that the relationship between Alex and Mer was weird, but I don't think so. Alex has always had a screwed up life, but the difference between the young Alex, and this more mature Alex is profound. A lot of that change is due to Mer's influence. There's also a lot of animosity among fans towards Mer; some fans see her as a "special snowflake" and not in a nice way. @skermac, sometimes, I get confused where you are in the series. Perhaps it's because some events happened so long ago, I really don't remember what events happened in a particular season. To me, April lost her virginity so long ago, that I just see April and think of Jackson. They've been a couple so long, that I forget how they were before. I'm cool with Jackson and I respect that he wants to be his own man without that Avery anvil tied around his ankle. Denny and Izzie, yuck!!! Too weird. Perhaps I still see Denny as the Winchester dad from "Supernatural". Owen...don't like him. Another needy person and very suffocating in his relationships. He seems to define himself by being a father or having a child. Christina was my girl. Brash, confident, a real pushy person, but as one half of the "Twisted Sisters", she was a diamond in the rough and I still miss her. Arizona is cool, but I also miss Callie and Sophia.
  14. There were a few people that I wanted to slap upside their heads in this episode, "A Birthday Wish"! Of course there are my favorite two people that make my hand reach out desperately to give them a good knock. First, there's Martha. I don't know what it is about Martha, but my teeth start grinding whenever I hear her voice or see her face. Her, "The shop is never closed TO ME", is the epitome of smug self-absorption . Ugh, lady, get over yourself. I know that's how the showrunners want her to play the character, but damn, can't she tone it down? Than there's my other favorite, Abigail. She actually was a little less irritating in this episode, but her, "Oh, your Mom didn't tell you she was in a foster home on her special birthday?". C'mon, Abigail, let Cassie tell Grace in her own time. Maybe there's a reason she hasn't mentioned it. Ideally, Grace would look in the book and see for herself and she and her mother could talk about it together. I guess, the writers wanted to set it up so that Grace would put her wish in with her mom's blank page. Cute set up, but oh, so irritating and contrived. At least I may have gotten MY wish and the writers appear to have given Abigail some distraction in the new guy, Liam. Now, little Miss "Kitchen Re-arranger", sorry, but that's a BIG No-No. You don't come into someone's kitchen and arrange everything to suit you. How would she like it if Cassie came into her restaurant and re-arranged everything. My mother tried that once and it set my ex's hair on fire. That was a fire I couldn't put out with an extinguisher; especially if the roles were reversed, good ole Mom would have yelled for days. Not a bad episode, but a little too sweet for my teeth.
  15. Cool, we agree. However, I am just as curious as @secnarf with how the show will handle this in the future. Didn't Alex and Maggie just exchange ILY's on the show. It seems odd that this exchange is followed by Maggie's reduced role. I too hope that they do not kill off Maggie and I would hope that those fans who are sensitive to LGBT issues with regard to deaths, not revive that silly notion that they were killed off because they were LGBT. This is the same sort of silliness that is uttered whenever a minority (usually African-American) dies in a show. I'm straight AND Hispanic/African-American and I think that people who constantly see these incidents as race-related are just too sensitive. Not to imply that such cases do not exist.
  16. I hope this comment was to simply backup what I had already said. I said it CAN'T be homophobia by the network or the advertisers because The CW has many characters in their shows that are LGBT. Additionally, I mentioned that Lima was looking at bigger projects.
  17. Or this one with Ellen Pompeo:
  18. How do you get to Carnegie Hall?
  19. Sounds like a bleak picture to me. Anyway, there will be some changes. The CW announced today, that Maggie (Floriana Lima) will no longer be a regular and will appear in only a few episodes. Same with Cat. (Calista Flockhart) So, the sisters will be without their S.O's. This makes me question why they had Alex propose to Maggie in the first place. It can't be homophobia by the advertisers, as most CW shows have an LGBT character. They sort put out a press release that Lima is signing onto bigger projects.
  20. Remember, "Grey's Anatomy" is not like "House, MD". In "House", I barely remember anybody dying except, for Kutner, who committed suicide (I think). Medical dramas usually try to have patients survive, unlike in real life. In Grey's, as stated, only four team members died, discounting the baby of two team members. Shonda likes to center her shows around interpersonal dramas.
  21. You're welcome. April can be a pill, but that hasn't stopped her from being a damn good doctor. One would never have predicted that she would become so good, considering failing the boards the first time. Why? Because she got so wrapped up in her quandary over her feelings for Jackson. @skermac, there are a lot of deaths in Grey's. It would be a good idea if you steel yourself against the sadness and think of the good times, like the "Twisted Sisters" dancing it off. That always brought a smile.
  22. Hello all, I cannot seem to find out what's going on with the U.S. airing of Reign episodes. Within the last few weeks, the show has moved from airing on Friday evenings in the U.S. to Sundays. Now, the show seems to be on a mini-hiatus and will be airing the episode "A Bride, A Box, A Body" on June 2nd. Does anybody have information on these scheduling changes? I know these are the last few episodes are it for this show, but there is no consistency. If not for my DVR, I would not know when the next episode will air.
  23. I am a die-hard "Farscape" fan, as you can see by my avatar, and "Grey's Anatomy" reminds me of Farscape's most tragic season. It was aptly named by the writers, "The Season of Death". One of the facets of "Grey's Anatomy" that you must come to reconcile is that Shonda forces the viewers to come to grips with the one thing in life we all share, Death. For every happy ending to a case, there's also a case that ends in tragedy. Tears of joy are sometimes accompanied by tears of grief. I think there were four deaths in Grey's that were gut-punches to fans. George's death was the first. @skermac, I won't mention two of the four, because you may not have come to those parts yet. You've heard of Lexie's death and that was a toughie. Two other team deaths had as much of an impact on the survivors as well as the fans. No, April does not become a jerk. She is, however, a little grating on the nerves for some viewers. For one, she's a devout Christian, and can sometimes appear hypocritical. Her most glaring hypocrisy was to ask for God's forgiveness, every time she made love with Jackson. That rubbed a lot of the interns and residents the wrong way. (and probably a lot of fans also) Either enjoy making love, or don't do it. April was torn about her attraction to Jackson. She also had a relationship with a fireman, all the while longing for Jackson. As OtterMommy said, the writers simply don't know how to write for Sarah Drew. (she had the same problem with "Everwood" writers where she was again, saving herself for her future husband and was a bit of a "Goody Two-Shoes") I like April, but she IS an acquired taste. April goes through some tough times both in her own life and with her life with Jackson. I don't think it's possible to prepare yourself for Lexie's death. That whole episode shook everyone. Cast, writers, and fans, were in shock for quite a while after that whole incident. If I remember correctly, it took Meredith almost one full year to accept the fact that her baby sister died. "Grey's Anatomy" was never quite the same after that episode.
  24. I was an Izzie fan, but that whole dream thing bothered me. I've always like Katherine Heigl and I enjoyed her in "Roswell" and "Knocked Up". She's made some questionable career choices though, and she can't seem to shake those ugly rumors that she's difficult to work with. Lexie was a cutie pie and I didn't like how she died, but she's looking even hotter on "Supergirl". Now, April, you're gonna find a whole lotta hatred for the character. However, I happen to like Sarah Drew (I think I'm also one of the few that doesn't mind her character) and enjoyed her acting on "Everwood".
  25. I hope the word that you bit back wasn't "Triangle".
