  1. Philly is the 4th largest media market in the US and Harper is one of the biggest stars in the game that people love to hate, so I imagine that Philly making it over San Diego isn't hurting the networks feelings too much. They'd obviously rather have the Yankees but Houston is basically the recurring villain of MLB right now.
  2. It's pretty weird that the 1st/2nd place teams aren't going to play again until Tuesday. Getting my opening round predictions in, I'm going Cards and Mets advancing in the NL and Rays and Mariners winning in the AL.
  3. The Falcons, after going 3 and out on 3 drives in a row, deciding that they didn't need a passing game anyway and just running the ball on, 14 consecutive plays including a touchdown, then just continuing to almost exclusively run for the rest of the game was probably the best coaching adjustment that I've ever seen from this franchise.
  4. Ironically, the last time that NFL had a flag football game at the Pro Bowl, rookie RB Robert Edwards absolutely destroyed his knee, it was so bad that the doctors almost decided to amputate the leg and everyone thought his career was over at the time. Granted that game was played on sand, which probably contributed to the injury, but still it's a dangerous sport and guys that big and just jumping, running, and cutting are always going to have injury risks. Edwards did manage to make a comeback years later and played 1 more season in the NFL as a backup before having a couple of really good seasons in the CFL.
  5. Bruce Timm: "Okay, so this is the relaunch of Green Lantern, so the first act of the movie is just going to be Bruce Wayne and Barbara Gordon going on dates and having sex, it's really important that we establish this relationship as it's the cornerstone of the entire Universe and that Barbara is much better off with Bruce than she was with that loser dweeb Dick. Also that it's totally normal for a guy to date the ex-girlfriend of the kid he raised, and that no one should read anything weird into it. All the other characters need to be supportive and tell Bruce what a great match he and Barbara are and how much that dork Robin sucks. Anyway, Hal Jordan is going to fight Sinestro or something in the background while all this is going on."
  6. I thought they'd be heavier on new to the MCU characters from the comics, like Atlas, Songbird, Moonstone, and Fixer, mixed with some established characters like Yelena and Walker. As it stands this isn't even really a villain team. Bucky is a hero, Yelena and Walker also both are established as leaning more to the good/heroic side after their most recent D+ series spots, Ghost and Red Guardian are more anti-heroes and MCU Taskmaster is another brain washing/mind control victim. If they wanted to use more established figures, I think that a theatrical film would have probably had higher "dibs" on Abomination and they've got possible options like Agatha or Mordo out there.
  7. The Falcons looked poised for a big win in week 1, switched to a prevent defense in the 3rd quarter (the 3rd!) and even pulled the entire starting defensive line and just watched the Saints stroll down the field. To maintain this level of incompetence across coaching changes, front office changes, and roster overhauls is almost impressive in a way.
  8. I'm a little surprised that, other than Ghost, this entire team is pretty much just hand-to-hand combat types. No energy blaster or flier or speedster types. Not even anyone above super soldier level strength wise in the mix. Maybe they're holding off on a few reveals, but that's a team size that's getting a bit unwieldy if they add more.
  9. The last shot of Max in S3 is her sitting alone in Billy's room looking sad, I think it's pretty clear that she's keeping a lot of her emotions hidden from her friends during the earlier scenes.
  10. Johnny will have a negative star rating
  11. They had a plan ready to go as soon as the call came in though, so they clearly already suspected Leland was holding Andy before the Avalanche call. Which, I mean, they should have suspected something is up because those "calls" with Andy were so blatantly fakes, but it invites the usual question of why they didn't take this suspicion to their mother or tech wizard Ben.
  12. I would guess that at this point the one creepy dude who has been stalking their family for 3 seasons is their first suspect for anything bad going on.
  13. Hopefully this is some 4D chess where Grace had to let Sheryl take the info to Leland so he'd make a move on her as part of some bigger picture move to take down Leland and Demon Corp.
  14. Replace Seahawks with Falcons and it works for a whole other fanbase.
  15. That's how Wakanda has generally been depicted outside of the very earliest maps that had it on the Atlantic. The most recent location in the comics has it bordering Lake Victoria (though it is named Nyanza in Wakanda)
  16. In S1 El was able to make the bully kid pee his pants, presumably by using her TK to squeeze his bladder, so I guess she used her powers to preform CPR and get Max's heart to start pumping again.
  17. PigBear Girl was just Raquel Welch in One Million Years BC with a pig nose and a bear ear.
  18. On average 140 Million children are born each year on Earth. If we assume that number is cut in half because of the snap that's around 250 Million children born post snap. That's Earth. The galaxy/universe in the MCU is filled with intelligent life, so the births on Earth are likely a drop in the bucket compared to that total in the universe. Considering unmaking, very conservatively, the billions of children born in the universe over the previous 5 years should be absolutely staggering to even consider. They have, reasonably, 3 options, 1 is to do nothing and leave half the universe unalive. Option 2 is to bring half the population back to life. Option 3 is to prevent 50%+ of the population from dying in the first place but in the process effectively making everyone in the universe under the age of 5 no longer alive. Maybe it's just me, but the morality seems clear.
  19. They had it under lock at Camp Lehigh and Howard studied it during that time, then they created PEGASUS to study it at some point, leading to the FTL engine and Captain Marvel's powers.
  20. She's at work, those hospital bills aren't going to pay themselves.
  21. Vecna's house was one of the 4 starting points, the intersection was at the Hawkins Library. The Library (or the upside down version of it) was where the Demogorgon took Barbara and Will after it captured them in S1.
  22. I think they've established that the upside down creatures don't like heat, which explains why they wouldn't be pouring out into Hawkins in Spring/Summer. Maybe? That's the conclusion the gang arrived at, but we don't really have any idea how it works. Which may have been something Vecna goaded them into when he taunted Nancy. Why this ritual? Why these victims? Do they need to be teens suffering from guilt or is that just Vecna's preference? Does he need to do the long mind games first, or is he just doing that because he wants to? It's possible that there was something special about the victims and that he needed them specifically to open the gates, in which case they played directly into his hands by using Max as bait. I feel like the whole curse/ritual part was under explained/investigated for such a key part of the plot. In D&D there'd be some ancient magical text to explain things and how Vecna figured out the ritual, but here it's apparently just ... "I dunno, he's using his science powers, and he's doing it this way because it's his jam, and he knows it's going to take exactly 4 because, uh ... yeah."
  23. If hitters were capable of hitting the ball precisely where they want, they'd be doing it all the time regardless of the defensive alignment. Hitting just isn't that precise, you can try to hit the ball in a general direction, but aiming for a hole just isn't something you can do. MLB pitchers also aren't fooling around, anything that has a hitter disrupting their timing/swing trying to hit one in the hole at 3B isn't going to make it easier on them. Shifts that completely sell out one side of the field are very rare, so there's every chance that the guy who tries to poke one to the left side is just going to have the ball fielded anyway. Hitting grounders on the infield is not the desired outcome in first place, batters are trying to hit the ball hard and in the air. If a power hitter is trying to slap one on the ground rather than trying to hit one to the outfield gap or stands, that's usually a win for the defense. Why not bunt? Pitchers are throwing 95+ with sharp movement, if the defense is aligned in a shift they're not going to toss one slow and away and make it easy to bunt. If you're not already a skilled bunter you're probably just going to find yourself down a couple of strikes.
