  1. Have to agree about the horrid coatrack. Thought the mural idea was great, but the furniture made the place look too cluttered. Would have preferred something more sleek. Still don't get Tom's obsession with wallpaper. He really could not come up with A SINGLE OTHER IDEA besides the fish wallpaper for that teeny little room? I thought designers were supposed to do just that....ummmm....come up with ideas???? We get it, there's a fish tank....don't need this echoed through the room. Actually, that fish wallpaper in the monotone of silver / grey would have looked ok behind the bar ( still a bit obvious, but much nicer than the primary colors one). But handpainting those antique chairs...without sanding...without removing the seats....just NO! All this being said, I still enjoy this show and the interaction between the two.
  2. Love the interaction.....love getting some decorating tidbits here & there.....not loving the bakery redo. Doesn’t seem like there’s any baking onsite...prepackaged cupcakes are screaming “copacker” .....and I did not like that they disrespected her wishes about the colors. It’s a gumball machine bad dream. The red door and black & white striped curtains could have led to a chic color scheme that had nothing to do with pastels. Not liking it. That being said, enjoy the program and hope...like others...that Bravo doesn’t ruin it the way they ruined the Million Dollar Listing franchise ( among others).
  3. Really had high hopes for this....but....pilot was poorly written and lots of dangly irritating loose ends with no explanations. I still watch , over & over, the original L&O ...writing is tight, good, and the backstories for the main characters are kept to a minimum. No background violins and sad piano music playing every ten seconds. Will give it a shot and hope it improves...but....am sorely disappointed.
  4. Wish they would clarify some things: Where and how are they getting their drinking water ? We don’t see anyone boiling water for drinking. Do any of them have any fire making skills or are they all using matches already provided (Maui girl used up 2to 3 matches to start ONE fire...totally wasteful) ? Why aren’t Kenzie’s and Robbie shoring up the roof of their premade shelter....it’s the same stuff up there as when they got there...with big gaps in the thatch. I’d want to make it as watertight as possible...and there’s plenty of “stuff” all over the place that they could use with minimal effort. WHEN ...and how....does this show end? Are they competing against one another for a prize? If so, what is it and how do you earn it? What’s the end point? Do they know Survivor starts in a few weeks and if this doesn’t end before that, no one will be watching anyway???
  5. So happy for Khiem. Amber didn’t even make the puzzle....her helper did. She just decided how to decorate it. Same with her arch...she decorated with flowers (yawn). If they’re going to have helpers, then they should be secondary and supportive....not create the bulk of the project. That being said, it was a pleasant show to watch...but just to hard to get a grip on “crafters/makers” and how to create a level playing field. The hosts were great...Etsy lady....not so much. But so nice to see everyone enjoying themselves!
  6. Just can’t understand the praise for Gennessy. Her second dance was leaden....so heavy...plodded through it. She seems like a lovely person, but can’t hold a candle to the rest ( well, she’s ahead of Slavic, for sure). Darius & JJ go home.....seriously? Just....don’t.....get.....it......
  7. Daniel......the. hair.........just, No! Make it stop, please. Did anyone else notice that when Lyle & Catherine we’re arguing in the restaurant, neither one raised their voice....almost an intense whisper instead. No table flipping here.....after all, it’s the South, y’alll..........
  8. Would like this more if there was at least some spontaneity. It's obvious, now, that all the "challenges" have been given to the contestants prior to them being on the show. They have all the materials they will need already on hand.... ( need coconut cleaned out shells...check! need a projector loaded with home movies...check! need old innertube tires.....check! ) For the show, they just re - create what they've practiced at home. The GBBO does this also, but for only two of the three challenges. The third is a surprise challenge that tests their skill. Puts everyone at an equal footing. Much better premise. I realize this is much harder to do with this type of show....everyone having totally different specialties.....but it needs an injection of something other than watching rehearsed crafting. It's gettiing boring....
  9. I used to like this show, but lately it just feels like every episode is one big infomercial for Marcus Lemonis holdings. Every show this season has had some link up to one ( or more ) of Marcus' properties.....the clothes tie in to this company that he owns....the food ties in to that company that he owns....the decor ties in to another company that he owns....etc. etc. Even the vendors are recycled through the Lemonis washing machine....I think I'm done......and the heart sweaters / jackets / shirts just put it over the top for me!
  10. Also think Raul is actually Darius in disguise....maybe he figures this is the only way to get inside Resyst and dismantle them. Or...... Sigh.....any way we can speed up the asteroid??? Really getting tired of the bad writing. Liam looks like a total idiot-wouldn’t trust him to fix my PlayStation....
  11. I do wish they would clarify how the challenges are structured. I have no doubt the contestants are aware ahead of time what they will be asked to do....no problem with that. In the GBBO two of the three challenges are structured this way....the contestants know it and we, as viewers, know it. They can ( and are expected to ) practice. The third challenge is the surprise. But here, I think we are led to believe that all the challenges are a “surprise” . No way I believe that....just come clean and explain how it really is. It takes nothing away from the show or the contestants. But the fact that they don’t clarify this seems a bit shady and that DOES take away from the show. Be honest, people....we can take it....and embrace it as we do with the GBBO.
  12. So if Adora knew this about Ann Nash, does that put Adora as #1 suspect since she knew something Ann did the night before she was murdered???
  13. I think Adora was referring to herself and her behavior in the past....that's why Camille reacted the way she did, both puzzled and kind of sad because she knew about her mother's past.........maybe Adora despises Camille so much because she sees so much of her younger self in her...maybe....
  14. Drop Dead Diva handled the whole body issue topic so much better and was entertaining to boot....not like this train wreck...
  15. So we have Amy, in the first round, using PRE MADE FROZEN PIE CRUST, she mixes some fruit and sugar in a bowl, aaaaannnnnddd...SHE WINS! Seriously????? It takes less than 5 minutes to whip up pie dough in the processor....chill it while you're mixing the filling....then bake. Doubt that either Giada or Bobby could taste that it was premade dough. Sigh....please bring back the French Chef reruns in all their glory....please......
  16. Another unintentional moment of hilarity....Darius & Grace in the stealth bomber ...want to have a private conversation...so Darius asks the two men seated on either side to take off their headsets so that the conversation won’t be overheard. The men are six inches away, and,um....they have...you know....EARS!!! I am so rooting for the comet at this point.....
  17. How in the world do you get to be a contestant on this show and not know the basic cuts of meat or....wait for it....not even know what clarified butter is!!!! I would bet just about all of the commentators here know what clarified butter is. And I'm supposed to watch a show hosted by know nothing Amy??????? Give me a break. Even the "lady parts" table can't save this show for me.....
  18. It has been replaced by the “lady parts” red chairs the judges sat in. Who Does The Set Design For This Show??.. Reminds me of the Everybody Loves Raymond episode where Marie does her famous lady parts sculpture.
  19. Ok....I think I’m officially done. Cannot believe Nacho made it through. The first round he blew the challenge by overtaking a granola crust....the only thing that had the agave in it. Who overbakes a granola crust.!!!! The filling was just melted peanut butter topped with melted chocolate....about as elementary as you can get. And Aaron presented a beautiful and creative ice cream sandwich that gets ignored in the final judging. The succulent cake....oh please! That decoration looked like a 10 year old did it. When I looked at the link posted by Realitycheck....omg....what beautiful cakes. And Nacho remains in the competition???? The cakes were supposed to look realistic, so appearance should have been a major factor in the judging.
  20. Amen amen to all the comments above about these people....thought it might be just me. Thought they were horrid people with the veneer of "oh golly gee whiz....." smile smile smile. Husband was micromanager personified....kept the useless blocked off back door because once a year that's how they bring in the Christmas tree????? And picking out stone is a terrifying experience???? Also didn't like that they said they only had $73,000 in the budget ( after scrimping and saving....snifff, sniff....for 15 years!!) for the kitchen, then they whip $10,000 out of their pocket to give to the contractor on the side for the bathroom that wasn't even scheduled for the show? Have to admire the control by Nate & Jeremiah ...they must have been livid. Think they would have been better off spending some of that reno budget on a psychiatrist.
  21. Let's see.....we have Donna becoming even more unsufferable ( if that's possible).....we have a clinical psychologist with the emotional maturity of a 15 year old ( I'll stomp my feet and hold my breath until I get my way....wah! ) who clearly is proposing a step in a relationship that is so toxic it's beyond words (demanding getting rid of someone who clearly plays a pivotal role in Harvey's life simply because she's too emotionally immature to deal with it)......and.....need I say anything more about the Louis fiasco ????? What the heck happened to this show?????!!!!!!
  22. Agree that this season, with a few exceptions, is amateur hour......with Nacho heading the list. Yes, he’s adorable, pleasant, likeable....but the stuff he puts out looks ridiculous. I’ve done better on an off day....nothing really looks professionally done with him. Maybe it tastes ok, but the judging is on both taste and looks ( including creativity...which he also has in short supply...especially compared to Caleb ). Just don’t get the fawning over him (Nancy’s the worst). Aaron, Caleb and Heather are head and shoulders above everyone else....hope they make it to the end. Totally echo that this can’t compare to the Great British Baking Show....no comparison....
  23. Whatever happened to each team member needs to do an equal number of roadblocks? For that matter, whatever happened to roadblocks????? For the conspiracy guys, a way to insure BB goes further than it could if Jessica actually had to pull her own weight? Seems that in this season, there are much fewer roadblocks.......all detours instead.....
  24. So close to being done with this show. They took a promising premise & totally chickafied it ( and since I am a "chick" I feel perfectly justified in saying that ) . That's what ruined Grey's Anatomy. And Will and Natalie....just can't get past the bad acting ( Natalie ) and the hair hat ( Will).
