  1. From the Wikipedia page on NY state's pre-disappearance gun laws (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_in_New_York): I like that this could actually fit with what we saw. From Previously.tv's Matt Debenham (http://previously.tv/the-leftovers/cabin-pressure/): Does Patti's reference to Kevin's "dirty dick" imply that he not only cheated, but that he got an STD and gave it to Laurie or had to tell her that couldn't have sex for a while because he had an STD?
  2. Thanks for the info about the game of Trouble. I wondered about that. Was Jill thinking of shooting herself? It seemed like it. Was there some comment about guns being illegal, @NorthstarATL ? I missed that. They're in Mapleton, NY, but post-event gun laws could have changed. Dog Killer has 'em and uses 'em. Nora mentioned she had a dog named Bubba at dinner. Then we see Jill using the doggie door to break into Nora's house. Does everyone in their town who owns a dog have a doggie door? Or would Jill have done the ol' break a window next to the door lock if need be? Jill made a point of correcting Aimee when Aimee said Nora was sitting in Jill's mom's chair at the dinner table. So who was sitting in Mom's chair? Jill? Aimee?
  3. I had considered it being the dolls and then figured it was too expensive to be. So those are the missing 7 shirts? Was he kidnapped by DogKiller 7 times? Was he being drugged, and, if so, how? Well, Smoky the Bear would approve. Didn't think of that. This show should've been a NetFlix all-at-once release.
  4. Yeah, but Kevin still hasn't figured that out and still hasn't put together the tobacco chewing with the smoking. Or is it that he (Dean?) took up chewing because he is not a GR and is just another kind of sick?Too bad Justin Theroux and Jennifer Anniston aren't likely to have babies, because they would have beautiful skin. So was that explosives/fertilizer or bodies or ashes delivered? I'm guessing "Still on" means explosives, and Laurie's look when Jill showed up was because it's one thing to blow yourself up, it's another to blow up your kid who has no clue what's about to go down. Nora has a box of trouble hidden under a bed. Heh.
  5. Okay episode, but I guess the director wasn't clued in on Jamie and Roy's history when they did the dance scene with the twirlies and back bend. The script had him saying, "No one would know," at the same time he was stroking her skin in public. Sheesh. Silly show.
  6. Aaand, we're back. Not so sure about Carrie and the teamster creating an alibi for Elliot.
  7. From http://nicegirlstv.com/2014/08/14/manhattan-last-reasoning-of-kings-synopsis-and-photos/ : "...Meanwhile, The Hill receives a special visitor in famed physicist Neils Bohr...Guest starring...Christian Clemenson (“CSI: Miami”) as Neils Bohr..."
  8. There's been a lot of speculation in the past couple of episode threads about if a Mason dies, which one will it be? My current guess is Hal. I'm imagining Hal and Ben get into one of those not-so-brotherly punching matches over Maggie, she steps in to break it up, and then she accidentally knocks Hal into eternity with her newly acquired super strength.
  9. I keep wondering why his death makes me so sad. Your graphics explain why.
  10. I got excited when I saw the words "Season 4" and "Continuum," but it looks like it's still iffy (or is that yfy?). Anyhoo, let's hope this isn't a short lived thread. Continuum Season 4 Renewal For Syfy?
  11. Fausto seems to have adopted her, so I guess she is his protogé. I loved it when she smiled slightly and told him, "There is no shame in that." What had he said exactly? "I get caught up in the stories" or ???Interesting that the fate I thought most suitable for the guy Eva killed was pretty close to the fate of Eleanor's rapist/father. Good point made by Jack, that both he and Sonya were hoping to use each other to figure things out and get closure.
  12. I watch too much TV. Can you refresh my memory about the evidence plot point?

  14. If I live long enough, I will be able to afford to retire. Until then, I will enjoy my access to the Oxford English Dictionary Online.So. Although the definition of troop as a single soldier was not added to the OED until 1993, the earliest reference to that usage recorded in the OED in 1993 was from 1832. My ancestors didn't speak English then, so I'll leave it to y'all to discuss.
  15. True, @DXD526 . Jane is, after all, a fictional character.
  16. Yes. I think Nolan in part slept with Berlin to hurt Tommy the way Nolan saw Irisa hurt because Tommy was with Berlin. Tommy wasn't wrong to move on, and I think Nolan knows that, but that doesn't mean he still didn't want to make the person who broke Irisa's heart suffer the same.
  17. Me too--a "bad" voice is a deal breaker--but these two have more than just the voice!
  18. No, you're right, it should be "tough row to hoe". Some people misrepresent it as road, which makes me giggle.LOL @RubyWoo72 ! I swear I typed "row," but Internet gremlins changed it to "road." Well, maybe not, but I was picturing hoeing a row in a garden when I typed it. Honestly, nothing else!
  19. Who had the line about missing something/someone Jane had never even known? Other than that, I agree with the poster from a previous thread that it would have been better if it had been a false positive test, especially after the loss of Frost. But I guess they didn't want to (or couldn't afford to) sacrifice the cute scenes in previous episodes about Jane's nausea ad nauseam. Based on the Tweet about 2 new actors, I'm guessing Mini-Maura/Tasha will have at least some cameos. This is a little creepy: This page is showing an add for adoption with a cute little pink and a cute little blue sneaker. After putting 3 unplanned pregnancies through college without paternal support, I'm just going to hoard all my spare change in an effort not to be a bag lady when I retire, thank you very much.
  20. That video "has been removed by user," so here's the link to a Wired article with the same clip: http://www.wired.com/2014/08/this-week-in-trailers-16/ The article notes that Saul had more hair since it's a prequel.
  21. Except Sid was trying to leave the base, where Frank lived. Maybe instead, "once he realized Frank sold him out in exchange for keeping their group together," Sid just decided he didn't trust anything Frank claimed he had done on Sid's behalf, and figured he'd be sent straight to the front as "cannon" fodder, and so had nothing to lose by making a run for it. The gun might have just been for self defense and to threaten the guards into hopefully letting him pass. And/or he might have figured suicide by guard was preferable to any other options awaiting him after several nights of torture (sleep deprivation through constant noise and light, etc.).Anyway, it was all very sad and depressing. This show has a lot of nice production values. I just hope it doesn't become unwatchable because it is such a downer. Even Breaking Bad had levity. They call it comic "relief" for a reason. I still think that Frank never intended for things to get so out of hand with Sid--that Frank figured Sid would get off with a wrist slap--but, if so, that was pretty naive of Frank.
  22. I thought Apple (or in some cases Windows) pays the show to display their products. Maybe even pays them in computers, like with the schools. I was going to argue against this, but then I remember hacking into my teen daughter's computer to find deleted chat files when I was worried about her having dealings with dealers when she was in high school. Fortunately, she's a successful adult now, and understands why I would do that.
  23. Both of her first 2 white outfits were gorgeous on her, but even more awesome when she wound up shoveling muck in the white on white and having a fit. I wasn't a Jaime Murray fan when she was on Warehouse 13 when so many adored her, but I am totally her fan girl on this show. She uses the makeup disguise as an opportunity to over-emote her facial expressions without it seeming over done. I loved the opening music too, especially the way the lyrics fit with the action at the end of the scene. Yay for Bear McCreary. Trenna Keating never fails to make the most of her screen time. It can't all be good directing.I also love the episode title. I did find the Kenya plot a little contrived, but I figure either they'll just move on from it, or it will make more sense later, hopefully.
  24. Somewhere on this board I quoted and/or linked a remark from someone involved with the show that one of the GR's goals is to annoy people. It seems Patti's capricious use of silence and writing is driven by the need to annoy. I'm not so sure about Laurie, but she might be too. The problem is that the GR are also annoying some of the audience (like you, @ganesh , right?) and not just annoying the fictional folks inhabiting the show. That might need to be fixed if the show is going to have more than 2 seasons. IDK, maybe Kevin will finally get ticked off enough by them to call in the guys who offered to "take care of the problem." Was that the Feds? Well, we did see him chatting up some of the girls in his first seen of the series. I would guess a teenage boy would join a cult with a large proportion of teenage girls for the usual reasons.
  25. Like a Shakespearean tragedy, except, fortunately, I doubt any of the writers are familiar with Shakespeare, which, at this point, is a good thing, because that would be bordering on sacrilegious. That would be an awesomely creative development. I hope the writers aren't reading this, because we don't want it renewed, do we?
