  1. I think it was leftover fabric from last week's challenge, though why he would want to remind anyone, Isaac in particular, of that unfortunate garment I have no idea. And a giant, UGH!, to this whole episode. Will there reach a point that designers might not want to even compete? Who wants to show half-assed designs and garments? I can't imagine that very much of what we've seen this season has been shown with pride. The Runway has just showcased bad examples of the designers' work.
  2. I know times have changed but I remember being taught to put the other person first and one's own self last which would make that, "... between Melissa and me." And I loved the clips of Julia. Makes me want to watch some of her old shows.
  3. Wouldn't "Melissa's and my" relationship be correct? Love Jacques Pepin so was like a little fangirl throughout this episode.
  4. Phil did not turn Uchenna and Joyce around but they were compelled to pay their driver. Don't remember if that was a first or not.
  5. Mediocre is being generous. I am right now watching that awful e-dating episode and am wondering, Do I care?
  6. Awful Awful Awful The time constraints have made this show barely a shadow of its former self. I have to hope and believe that these designers really do have talent, though little of that talent has been on display this season. The close-ups of seamwork and cutwork are cringeworthy. One of this challenges biggest kicks, for me, was spotting those Times Square bleachers. It's not often they are seen empty and it looked like there was a crowd there waiting to either use said bleachers or to see the filming. The bleachers are in front of the TKTS booth and give a great view of TS complete with jumbotrons and traffic and hustle and bustle. I think I continue to watch this simply by force of habit. With a smidgeon of hope for more better everything from everyone.
  7. And I would love to give you context for my TJ query but, well, I guess I need my eyes checked because I am now unable to find even one sighting! But thanks for TS. It's safe to say I would never have figured that one out. Makes good sense but I think I could have used QS (Quadruple?) for Friday's show as I think I managed to answer/ask as many incorrectly as the three contestants. And I truly surprised myself with a correct "Verona" for that FJ balcony. Not big into Shakespeare.
  8. Just catching up in these threads. I get DJ, I get FJ but I am at a loss with TS and TJ. Help?
  9. I'm sharing the Season 2 love, Green! My love of the Chas (Oswald and Danny) knows no bounds and Season 2 also gave us Blake Mycoskie who was so moved by the Race's Argentinian leg that he went on to found Toms One for One. It was a kind of oddball collection of Racers with Hope and Norm, the Grandmothers, Peach and Mary, Cyndi and Russell and more! I think I learned about paper underwear that season, maybe. IMHO, start with Season One and just work your way through, in order. I might have to do the same. Those early seasons are a real kick.
  10. Every time I see a jumpsuit I think about the ease of use issue. And I am done. And I continue to be amazed that jumpsuits are still being designed. Top Chef's Padma wore an overalls/jumpsuit thing well but ease of use...I agree with the poster upthread who expressed the opinion that Dimitry's jumpsuit would have benefited from a dissection.
  11. I kind of got that. At the same time, it appeared to me that her layered lace practically turned into a brocade. Until the black bra. Were those dice weighted? I thought Dimitri might have had the right idea. So much brocade that I'm probably seeing it everywhere.
  12. Jeepney. Slowly I turn, step by step, inch by inch... I'm with ya', Richness. Good leg. Did not need puppy and dog visual. Wonder if Jim has had his thyroid checked. No, I am not a doctor but I play one on the interwebs. Amy and Maya for the win!!!
  13. Maybe I need a better tv or new glasses but when that thing walked the runway I could't tell that it was lace. Was that the point? Besides the ugly color? I couldn't see the lace until they did the close-up and the black bra appeared. I thought it was awful so knew the judges would love it.
  14. I was willing to suffer the contrivances of this episode and to even accept that stealing ingredients from another competitor was aok. That was not easy. I guess tptb have me well trained. I did, however, cringe and even groan a little when George, in service to what he seemed to think of as his deserved win, deemed his earlier ejection a "raw deal." An arguable point but why, at that stage of the game, argue it? Humility looks good on everyone.
  15. Richard's pompadour was epic this latest episode! It, almost, looked like a Chris March fabrication, for sale at your nearest Target. And those guns... I guess he is doing more than pushing himself away from the table as part of his weight-loss plan. I kind of got a kick out of him this week. He seemed to be genuinely having fun. Especially in Whole Foods. And his other appearances were not nearly as stilted as previously though, to me, he is still reveling in his own bad self. Still not a fan.
  16. I wonder if his physical appearance has helped to maintain an initial impression of him as, This crazy-eyed-muscle-guy kind of worries me.
  17. Thank you! I think that's the quote I was expecting at the reunion t-shirt presentation. I think I need to rewatch Season 1.
  18. Appropriate or not, I do remember snorting at Dave's not-so bon mots. So, I think I considered it snort-worthy but not t-shirt worthy. I am happy to see the kinder and gentler Tiffani and I hope it's not just a front for PR's sake. But now I am trying to remember a cheftestant, (I think), who seemed as equally at wit's end as Dave and who chose to call someone a "snake in the grass" complete with a "Sssss..." Anyone? Bueller?
  19. Kids read at such different levels but the first things to pop into my mind are the Wimpy Kid series, and the author Rick Riordan.
  20. Sarah today Angelina's, Bonita Springs, Florida I saw her picture and lost my appetite.
  21. Had the crap scared out of me in the late '70s when I read The Shining and did not read any more King until Dr. Sleep which I really enjoyed. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to read Mr. Mercedes and was underwhelmed. I had understood it to be a crime-type mystery and that part of the story was okay but there was just enough of a creep-factor to make me reconsider whether I really want to read Revival. Appreciate the comments here.

    Book News

Interesting. I listened to the audio version of OTR and so enjoyed the vibrancy of Kerouac's prose that I fully intended to read the book. By the time I got maybe 2/3 through it Moriarty/Cassady had worn me out so thoroughly that 6 months later I have yet to start the book. Though I will say that I considered his appearance at the very end to be really essential and vital to the entire story. I hope this letter gets into the public domain!
  23. Wow. It is so much easier to believe that Columbia had "relaxed" its standards than to believe that Kelly actually met Columbia standards. Wow.
  24. ...and the look on my face was one of bliss. And triumph.I had a few minor issues with Bev but they did not rise (sink?) to the level of middle school mean-girl bullying. But I would have to give the "TC Worst Behavior Ever" award to EofA's choice of that Season 2 triumvirate. And then to have Ilan win! I didn't even think Marcel was especially annoying. Awful.
