  1. And, iirc, Gingrich served his wife divorce papers while she was in the hospital recuperating from breast cancer surgery. Whattaguy!I had no idea those red dresses were relatively current. I figured they were stitched up before anyone learned to, like, sew? And I cannot begin to imagine what any of them could do to earn an honest wage! Grifters all.
  2. Let's not overestimate Theresa. She still has her girls to pimp out.
  3. Thanks all! Funny stuff! Helps to take the Duggar edge off.
  4. Well, the only bright note in that article is when nj.com credits radaronline as the source of their information. Hopefully they are notoriously wrong once again. If not, that kind of sickens me. There MUST be liens, or something, against future earnings, aren't there? PLEASE? ETA my mind stopped spinning long enough to finish the article. Bravo will withold 25% for payment to the plaintiff. That doesn't seem like enough!
  5. Those red dresses! Oh my. I practically have no words but, they look easy to make! Kind of a one-size-fits-all fabric "box". With an unfortunate collar.
  6. The Cooking Channel seems to have turned into some kind of repository for, imo, lots of has-beens and D-Listers. Who all seem to claim some serious cooking skills. Since when? An episode of Chopped? Agree with chessiegal, PBS is the go-to for cooking shows.
  7. "I laughed, I cried. It moved me man..."What the heck kind of campaign slogan is that!? Cannot willnot click on pix. Too creeped out. These people...
  8. Agree. And cosign all. Unfortunately it seems that most of these competition shows (Project Runway, Top Chef, Masterchef etc. etc. etc.) have decided that a competition is simply a race to the finish. No extra info needed. Unless it enrages or depresses the viewers. Sandwich guy had the 4th of July which he turned into The 500 Spices of Alex someone or other who needs a new haircut. I have to wonder, At what point does this thinking become counter productive? Ya' cut the budget, are you perhaps also cutting viewers? Yet, I watch.
  9. I am only familiar with Hannah of the Eyebrows. But I am frequently distracted. And busy rolling my eyes.
  10. I have a similar fascination with cultism and have been amazed at how many interesting Mormon true crime books are out there. Under the Banner of Heaven is one of the best. You might find this older title, The Mormon Murders, interesting. And re: cultism, don't forget Going Clear, or as reviewer Lawrence Wright called it, "Eyes Wide Shut". No one does it like the Scienos. EditedToCorrect: Lawrence Wright is the author, Michael Kinsley the reviewer.
  11. I partly got back in for Bethenny! That was, to me, a fail. So I decided I kind of liked Dorinda! Oh well. I am in it to the finish now.
  12. She is starting to remind of Jeff Conaway and that is a sad story. And she seems to be spiraling and if she doesn't care no one can make her care. It's a devastating disease that not all can control. I'm not sure what any added tv-role-participant attention can do except perhaps enable her behavior.
  13. Sad. One of the best. Her book Small Sacrifices kind of got me started reading True Crime books. And though the partner sometimes gives me the side-eye, lol, it's a more educational genre than most realize. The judicial system; it is sometimes broke! But Ann Rule showed such pathos and sympathy for the victims and those left behind that she really elevated what could have been just gruesome, sad stories into knowledge of real people impacted by horrific events. RIP
  14. Yeah! I did a, Wha wha whaaat? when I read about the Lady Gaga connection. I mean, our Dorinda? And then I had to wonder if Gaga is in decline? Dorinda. Odd. I wonder if maybe the ratings game has not caught up to rapidly changing viewing habits. I have watched the HWs more often on the Bravo app and on HuluPlus through my Roku than I have watched during its regularly scheduled programming. I have watched more of this season than any since Season 4.
  15. Ohmigosh! So much for fences make good neighbors! How awful. But you're right, whaddya' gonna do? But, wow.I think Thuy was finally sent to a mental institution but some of her former neighbors (spoiler alert! lol) are in hiding because they consider her to be not just crazy but to be crazy like a fox and fear she might convince professionals that she's "cured" and be released. And tobeannounced, I have limited reserves for Fear Thy Neighbor too. I don't usually like the reenactments shows (especially the sexed up and bloodied up ones) but for some reason get caught up in the Neighbors' lives. But can only handle one at a time. Datelines, 20/20s, et al, I can pretty much leave on for extended periods but Neighbors? Not so much. And though millennium's sodium lamp/Valkyries scenario made me laugh I had to think, Gee, haven't I seen that? Sorry to hear about Ann Rule. So many good books. Hard to name a favorite but Small Sacrifices is right up there. RIP
  16. Arnold's "Hey, Lovebugs!" I loved it! And while I liked Eddie's dad's ginger tip, like cooksdelight, I would rather not hear it before I eat. Clue me in later. As it was it just had me remembering Halloween night, and other, tummy upsets. But it does, imo, work. Dom's sweater cracked me up. Not because it was sort of a Christmas sweater but because Dom had the self-awareness to remark that he looked 10 years old. And he did! It looked like someone's mom spit on her hand and spit-gelled his hair down. After she buttoned his shirt all the way up and straightened his collar. Giada's cleavage was epic in one of her first outfits. Wow. And I don't usually notice that. I agree with poster above who said that Jay seems so scripted. Maybe too much on-air radio time?
  17. I have not seen this episode but the clueless parents thing is so distressing! OT but isn't this kinda' why we have Columbine type situations happening?I think I find this show more distressing than other true crime shows because we pretty much know how it ends. It's not like the Datelines and the 20/20s, et al, that offer alternate killers. Instead we meet the victims and the murderers right off the bat and things ramp up. Plus, as noted by millenium, we all have or have had bad neighbors. And frequently with similar complaints. Though Kill-de-Sac is one of the first times I have seen someone not convicted. A gov't. employee! With connections. The Byron Smith travesty is on now. So sad. "A good clean finishing shot." I forgot about that part.
  18. I did not think that I needed to spoiler tag an episode that first aired June 1, 2015. Useless for me to tag now as it's been quoted. Sorry. Where do I find the Spoiler policy for this topic?
  19. Watched a new-to-me Fear Thy Neighbor called Kill-de-Sac. This is the one with renters w/skateboarding kids moving into a quiet neighborhood in Leesburg VA. It was really unsettling on a few levels. The neighbor upset (Lorenz)with the kids was a Federal govt. worker and was able to get cops out for simple complaints on what seemed to be a moment's notice! What a change from so many where-were-the-authorities shows we have seen. I wouldn't have been crazy about some of the childrens' behaviors and it was unsettling to see Lorenz's requests for them to stay off his property ignored. But these "Neighbors" shows sometimes get me feeling like I'm skating too close to a blame-the-victim thing. Then the kids' dad got kinda' tanked up and went to confront Lorenz (with words) and was shot dead. Lorenz was acquitted using a stand-your-ground law. And those laws, to me, can also be unsettling. Sometimes the only witness is the one holding the gun. And it appears that Lorenz stayed an unrepentant asshole going so far as to even perhaps removing yellow memorial ribbons from homes and calling the cops when a daughter revisited the neighborhood on the anniversary of her dad's murder. And of course the cops showed up. Wore me out! Oof.
  20. I have got to take another look at those things! I was seeing them as jeans with the legs cut off and the waistline as the opening?? They kind of made me go, Eww. Crazy!I had to switch focus from the denim container to Ramona serving herself from one. Looked like she was practically putting on a feedbag! She really comes across as clumsy. I think she had both hands filled with food at one point and not a napkin in sight.
  21. Even reaction shots are suspect. It seems so dishonest, of production, to allow this manipulation. It is sometimes (?) all about the drama. And I am embarrassed to admit that the whole Turkish psychic thing kind of got to me! I allowed myself to think that those were real moments. Then I got a grip and felt used.
  22. I agree! To me it was beyond awful and beyond terrible and moved pretty much into the territory of unwatchable.
  23. Yes, I did mean Revival! Thank you.I guess I felt like, even if it wasn't about those wannabe-dreams, those many many words and paragraphs and pages devoted to that musician storyline made me kinda' not care where that storyline was even going. If I remember correctly I was rather enjoying the story but when he hit the musician storyline the only thing I could think of was the band The Rock Bottom Remainders and could not remove the "vanity piece" thought from my brain. I had read enough.
  24. And then he won the 2014 Edgar Award for it! I was stunned. And disappointed. My personal review of the book pretty much mirrors yours.I also tried to read Revelation but made it through only a couple of bloated chapters before deciding I really didn't care about any of the characters, that I didn't want to read about King's musician-wannabe dreams and that there are too many really good books out there waiting to be read.
  25. I appreciate seeing the UrbanDict definition but this spelling, to me, makes more sense. Ramona really continues to be a piece of work. I might have to rewatch some earlier seasons for comparison but she seems to have exceeded all sense of not only self-awareness but also all sense of personal responsibility. And I think she thinks she's being coy, and cute. Carole has really grown on me. She seems to be the most comfortable, of this group, in her own skin. Others (I'm looking at you Bethenny, LuAnn and Ramona) seem to just try to hard to be something elevated. And I held that HOLLA! thing against Heather for a long time, and I still semi-roll my eyes every time I hear it, but I've grown to admire her more too. Not many Housewives seem to garner much respect or admiration. Partly, I think, because they just try to hard.
