The Real O'Neals - General Discussion
ItCouldBeWorse replied to Meredith Quill's topic in The Real O'Neals
I don't think a father should be confiding in his teenage son about his sex life or lack thereof. -
I haven't rewatched, but I thought that when they showed for the 2nd time Mary and John's conversation in bed before the baby started to cry, and Mary got up to get Rosamund and John texted the redhead, that when Mary came back into the bedroom, she handed the baby to John and swiped his glowing phone before walking out of the room. Did anyone else see this? It would make sense that Mary the spy would know what John was up to it.

I didn't get Terry's point about wanting Jake to win the competition so that he would have his own space. How would sharing Gina's former small studio apartment with Amy leave Jake his own space? He'd be better off moving in with Amy and keeping his apartment as a retreat. -
There was a mention earlier, I thought, of Molly and Mrs. Hudson having babysat. No teenagers for Rosamund. I suppose Watson and Rosamund will have to move in with Sherlock since Mrs. Hudson is eternally available just downstairs. I didn't like how Mary said that she and John had agreed never to take Rosamund on one of Sherlock's cases, and then did just that since neither one wanted to stop following Toby. What if at the end of the trail they had found the culprit, and he aimed a gun at Rosamund? Just accept that in this line of business, once you have a kid, you're both tied down and vulnerable. When Mary went away and John and Sherlock followed her, Ajay could have simply kidnapped the baby and forced Mary to kill herself in order to save her. Actually, Sherlock was the one who carelessly told Ajay that he knew a "Mary" who had the same thumb drive. Otherwise, he might have had trouble finding her. This is why superheroes have secret identities.

He did. I was quite surprised that he cared.

Maybe Moriarty's final "game" was to do nothing at all, which he knew would leave Sherlock paranoid and eternally on edge.

Just enter "Previously TV" in Google, and click the link. -
Also quite dangerous. Gestational diabetes for Kate, a huge baby who comes with problems of its own - I really don't think they should go there at this point in the story.

S02.E08: Kimmy Goes to a Hotel!

If the Mondrian were destroyed, the insurance money would go to the heirs of the original owners, anyway. -
I was never a great fan of Trixie (though this episode is changing my mind a bit), but in this scene, my take wasn't that she was not snarking on Barbara's appearance, as much as she suspected Barbara's sister had sent her a used/second hand bathing suit (the comments about that being very last year and such in the beginning of the show), and the thrust of that conversation was that Barbara deserved to get new things - not second hand things. Trixie seems to value new and shiny things on an emotional level (new means you deserve and are valued) as much as a shallow level. Another thing that struck me during this conversation is that Trixie was wearing a far more revealing bathing suit than Barbara's, one that showed off her figure to its advantage (and one that might have been considered a bit inappropriate to wear in front of a vicar in the '60's and even now), yet Tom had eyes only for Barbara.

Interesting article about weight-loss surgery and its aftermath: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/27/health/bariatric-surgery.html?_r=0

Erased my comment, but still 1 "Shelia."

I don't honestly know. But I remember listening to some commentary from writers and BTS people that they weren't able to use certain universities because they were declined permission. I wanna say it was West Wing. I also remember Felicity being declined usage of NYU which is why she went to Univ of NY. I think it might be related to trademarking. And obviously the universities would have to be tracking and persuing infractions. Maybe different studios also have different internal rules based upon their legal departments. You are correct in that while they could refer to NYU, and show actors wearing and using real NYU paraphernalia, they wouldn't be able to use the NYU trademark on West Wing t-shirts without permission, for example, or on the Felicity website. This might have limited them in some way.

I don't think any permission is required to connect a real college with a fictional character.

Life In Pieces - General Discussion

Acting! Does it bug anyone that Tyler (and Clementine) are neither working nor in school? They admit they are sponging off his parents, which, as a married couple living and eating in his parents' home, they would be doing even if they were working or in school if they weren't contributing to the household. It just doesn't make sense that they are home all day or that at least Heather hasn't said something to Tyler about his long term goals. It's not like he is traveling with the band, even. -
She's also used to parking in the spot reserved for vehicles with a handicapped sign, even when JJ is not with her. Therefore, as Zanne said, her "huge behemoth of a car" is always parked directly in front of the place to which she is going.

Stuart's lack of a social life will be the reason that Howard and Bernadette will be able to join the others without dragging along the baby: "She's with Stuart." -

Great episode, but Marvin's a dentist with malpractice insurance. No way he wouldn't know that a claim, much less a payout, increases your rates. What would have been appropriate would have been for Louis to offer to reimburse Marvin for any medical expenses or drugs not covered by the latter's medical insurance. The injury was the result of their asking him to check on Evan. It's a good thing the injury happened right before Christmas, or Marvin would be losing income, also, as I assume he couldn't perform his job properly while in significant pain/under the influence of muscle relaxants. -
It had better be more than "open to long term committed relationships" since they adopted a child with a difficult background.

If Genevieve is too unsure of her relationship with Boyle to commit to marrying him, or at least isn't convinced that he would treat her fairly in a divorce, what does she think will happen with regard to Nikolaj if they break up? Why is she willing to risk having him split in two directions? It's very selfish to adopt a child with a man she doesn't trust.

I wonder if it would ever occur to Anthony Anderson to say to the writers that he doesn't like the way they are writing him, and that it isn't funny. He's one of the producers, isn't he?

I don't really believe that Diane is intimidated by elves and Santa. By the time one knows where babies come from (which, since they are 10, they should have known for years; even more so now that their mom is pregnant), it strains credulity that they would still believe. They both have exposure to the internet and go to school with other children. Jack is written as an idiot, so perhaps he is still clueless, but Diane is savvy. I thought that the baby might be deaf, since Bow commented that he didn't react to beeps and other sounds. If he keeps having his favorite song pumped though his headphones, who knows. If a baby needs a song played on repeat, play it in the room he's in, and those who can't stand it will have to leave the room. If you're in the car and can't leave, choose between hearing the song on repeat, or the baby screaming. Don't cut the baby off from external sounds, unless he had a diagnosed problem with external stimulation.

Sara and Amaya did go off to drink together at the conclusion of the crossover. I don't think they're showing us all their bonding moments, but perhaps they should show more.
