Going with the least imaginative scenario, Sam teams up with Rowena and goes after Lucifer. It goes badly. Dean steps up by saying yes to Michael.

These Spoilers Suck: Bitter Speculation About SPN Spoilers
ILoveReading replied to catrox14's topic in Supernatural
My vote is Sam drives up in the impala and Dean hears the rattle of the legos he put in the heating system. That’s the only way it’s a true role reversal. Dean also has to take Lucifer, and AU Michael with him. -
My spec Is that Jensen is going to play our world Michael. Michael is supposed to be crazy. Jensen may want to research how to portray a mentally unstable person. Jensen talked about how he did research on how to properly portray someone who was stabbed in the chest. That scene with Metatron is so real it’s hard to watch. This is something I can see Jensen doing.

While I think Jensen would rock any role they give him, I really want it to be Michael. Gabriel, Cas, And Lucifer are all established characters and anything Jensen does will just be an immitation. Since I think one of Jensen’s biggest strengths is character building Michael is at the top of my list because he’s basically a blank slate. AU Michael is bland and just another mustache twirling villain and our Michael was never really explored. There is so much Jensen could do with that to make him a much more interesting character. Although, another interesting potential character Jensen could create is if he becomes death.* but playing a reaper, even the big boss would be another form of Dean. *I know Billie is death but this Dabb and lol!canon so if he wants it to happen it will.

I have to admit looking at that pic of Dean with the sledge hammer made me a little sad because I'm guessing Dean has to smash his TV. I know a TV is pretty insignificant but it would just be something else Dean loses and he looks so excited about his Dean Cave. I hope nothing happens that ruins Scooby Doo for Dean.

I wish he was in Dead Pool 2 or ever better playing Adam in the next Guardians movie. I hope we get a reverse Swan Song. Sam drives up in the Impala and it allows Dean to over come Michael after hearing the rattle of the legos he put in the heating system. -
But you;ve been certain that something was up with Dean.

Dabb hasn't written for Dean in in 2 1/2 years, so I figure if we get any Dean/Michael interaction it will go one of 4 ways. Michael will be interested in Dean for a hot minute because he hears the words true vessel but then he'll be unimpressed by him and prefer Sam. A bait and switch where it will look like Dean will say yes, but at the last minute we'll get Trial and Error situation with a thinly veiled, "I'm stronger then you Dean speech" disguised as a BM. People around Dean will straight up tell Dean that Sam should be the one to do it so he can get his win and that he's stronger. Or if by some miracle, Michael wants Dean, it will because he'll see Dean as inferior and easier to control. -
Gabriel can only be killed by an archangel using the arch angel blade. Ketch knows he can't kill Gabriel.
-
Sounds like the start of a redemption arc for Ketch.
-
Maybe the kid is attached to the TV and he pulls people in for amusement.

Good find, but Dabb and Co. can't remember what they did last week and sometimes in the same episode. I doubt they remember this exists.

Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
ILoveReading replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
I understood the references just fine. I don't think this is a particular good homage or a good episode. I thought the writing was dull and uninspired, and the plot line was copy and pasted from epiosde 8. I thought Sam and Dean characterizations were sloppy and stereotyped from how they were perceived in the pilot. If I was supposed to see the exchanges between the brothers as "teasing" its another thing they failed at. Because I thought Sam came across as condescending. It left me seriously questioning at this point if he even likes Dean. I loathe the 'dumb Dean' trope Dabb seems so fond off. Put all this together and it adds up to a bad episode for me. It has nothing to do with not "getting it" -
That's okay. I didn't need my heart anyway.
-
I didn't see this at all. If any of the brothers is getting to the point of desperation, I'd say its Sam. He's the one who seems to want to find a way to stop all the monsters.

Agree. Just look at the writing for Mark Sheppard's character. He even commented on how he knew he was on his way out because of the decline in the writing for Crowley. Mark Sheppard said at a recent comic con that there was a good bye soliloquy ending with "Even when I lose I win" A line Mark had a whole t-shirt campaign built around and they cut it. Even if it was a time thing they could easily have kept the last line. TBH, the writing for Dean give me the exact same feeling as the writing for Crowley. It feels personal. We know its happened to Jensen in the past. On Dark Angel it was personal. As for the girl, I tuned out I may have missed something but didn't Dean hit on her rather then being the other way around? She was reading, Dean asking what she was reading. She help a Supernatural magazine and Dean said "I should sit down" before Sam called him over. In this ep, Dean's line about being imperfect to help an imperfect world was invalidated, Dean was written as having trouble pronouncing a foreign name, he's apparently needs Sam to rescue him from handcuffs, Sam was shown to be leading the interrogations, doing all the research, going in for the exchange with all the mob guys. TBH, if this is the writers having a boner for Dean, I would hate to see how they write him if they didn't like him.

It never really made sense to me why Sam has lost faith. Because at the start of the season he was the one with the faith that Jack could be good, and that Mary was alive. As we've seen Jack is a precious ray of sunshine whose because family and lives in the bunker in less than a 1/3 of the season, and he was right about Mary. They even got Cas back. So the priest saying "good things do happen" seems to be too little too late since they've experienced this 3 times this season. Everything Sam had faith in and even stuff he didn't turned out to be true. So what if they don't have a plan. These guys usually don't have a plan. If they do its pretty much guarunteed to go sideway. Its when their backs up against the wall they tend to figure these things out. So there is no real reason for Sam to be struggling with his faith right now. If he;s so worried about monsters and another apocalypse, why isn't he protesting more about opening the door to Rift World? Which has a big possibility of making it easier for Michael to cross paths. I could see Sam struggling if the thought there was no way to rescue Mary but there is. And the show isn't really acting like its a big deal. It just seems that Sam is mopey/depressed/struggling because the writers decided it was Sam's turn regardless if it make sense in the context of the story line. Which is bad writing 101.
-
Unless they get a new show runner that gives a damn I don't think anything is going to change. Didn't Dabb say at the start of the season they were going smaller and concentrating on personal stories?
-
Here is an episode that hits by bottom 20. Dislikes. It's becoming obvious Dabb and Singer are trying to prove me wrong that then they can't get lazier. It's bad enough that they they're just copying and pasting the entire apocalypse but this was just copy and pasted from the Scorpion and The Frog. Bad guys have something Sam and Dean need, they make a deal to steal something for bad guys, things go sideways. It's obvious Dabb and Singer don't care anymore. The'yre just going through the motions. I loved Dean's line, "This world isn't perfect, if I'm not perfect saving it so what." So, of course, they had to go an and completely invalidate it with the Priest's speech about its just an excuse to justify bad behavior. Of course they had to validate St. Sam and his holier than thou attitude. What was up with Sam's attitude toward Dean in his one? Why was he up on such a high horse? It's episodes like this where I question if Sam even likes Dean. He seemed irritated and annoyed with Dean this entire episode. Then suddenly when the priest makes a speech that resonates with Sam, he's suddenly on board with stealing the skull. Does Sam not remember what happened when he joined the British Men of Letters in an attempt to get rid of all monsters? Dean suddenly has faith? Where did that come from? This is why I don't believe Dean is burying his feelings or hiding anything. He's too zen. In the obligatory BM even Jared and Jensen looked bored. Like, like they were both thinking- "are we really doing this again? Since when doesn't doesn't Dean carry paper clips to pick a lock? I guess Sam and Dean killing humans is not longer considered a bad thing. More of the dumb Dean/ smart Sam trope I dislike that seems standard these days. There were a couple of things I did like (sadly, I can't list Dean's line anymore.) Dean sassing mob bosses. What he'd do if someone stole baby. (Now, I want an episode were Baby is stolen) Dean walking into the fire fight with guns blazing. That was all kids of hot.
