  1. Yayyyy!!!! I'm so happy for Jinkx! I thought Monet won the final lip sync but she would have needed to deliver a Sasha Velour-level lip sync in order to overshadow Jinkx's track record. Does this make Jinkx the only two-time winner and undefeated queen on RPDR? Also, I'm so happy for Raja. While I think Raja's popularity played a role in her winning the $50k, I think this might have been in part a thank you to Raja for all of her contributions as an early season queen towards making the show (and Ru) successful. One thing I like about Rupaul is she's usually appreciative of the early season queens. While those seasons were not as popular as the current ones, the show definitely would not be where it is today without them. And Raja definitely played a role is lifting up the show. I think the queens get a weekly stipend so she should have gotten some compensation (although an extra 10, 50 or 200K would make a substantial difference for Yvie or someone in a similar position). Also, I think exposure is a big factor why queens continue to appear on this show and whatever shenanigans Ru has going on. Yvie was previously a member of the Las Vegas Residency and corresponding Vh1 show. I think this season Yvie showed that she doesn't need pull out all of her skills in order to be a great queen. I think Yvie will get several opportunities after this show.
  2. I think Logan has an advantage in this game. Country music is one of those areas where you either know it or you don't. And I'm guessing most of the people in that house (with maybe the exception of Brittany) don't. So unless he is related to someone really really big, like Willie Nelson or Dolly Parton, he's probably in a cushy spot.
  3. This was really fun. I love it when the show is in on the joke. I laughed everytime they played the phantom of the opera music when X was on. Also, I kinda wish the show didn't reveal some of the celebrity connections. It's fun to guess and be surprised with the contestants. But so far, all of the confirmed celebrity connections are pretty legit. Or at least they are definitely household names. Simone Biles' sister should have taken a cue from X and done something to change up her appearance.
  4. This docuseries is a bit of a slow burn but I'm digging it so far. Also, it's hilarious to me how even a group of self-proclaimed "anarchists" end up as a bunch of corporate sellouts.
  5. I like this idea. They could still give out the Legendary Legends stars throughout the season and then use the stars to rank the girls in March Madness-style bracket.
  6. Add in the fact that Kiela was having sex in an unlocked bathroom at her ex-boyfriend's party. It's like the writers completely forgot that there were previous seasons of this show and that the characters have pre-existing relationships with each other.
  7. Anyone watching this show? I've watched the first couple episodes and so far it's been a decent background show. But I don't like how the host seems to push couples into kinks that are way out of their comfort zones. She seems to do this shock and then pull back approach. Her spaces are beautiful but I don't think I would like working with her. That being said, why would you paint all that beautiful exposed brick white?!? Especially for a dungeon?
  8. Just finished watching all eight episodes and this was cute. Or at least it filled the void of me needing something entertaining to watch without having to think too hard. That being said, I did like the twist of Gia being the ghost. I didn't think Erika was a ghost because she had way too many interactions with people and was doing way too many normal alive human things to not be alive. Honestly I thought that the body was going to be someone random (or maybe no one at all, just the legs). One thing I didn't like was that there seemed to be too many similiar-looking actors, particularly on the male side. I guess they all seemed to have moppy brown hair and I couldn't tell them apart.
  9. Streaming on Netflix: Anyone watching this show? I'm two episodes in. On one hand, this is the perfect type of mindless entertainment that's great to have on in the background for household chores. On the other hand, any show that forces a vegan to see a decapitated deer carcass without any warning or ability to opt out is pretty messed up. Also, I don't believe for one second that they actually blew up their stuff.
  10. I think the cop believed Juliette literally when she jokingly said that Calliope was a monster. Or maybe she thought Calliope's sudden jerking of the car was a delayed reaction to the silver? I read somewhere that the short story this show is based on was written with a pilot in mind. As each episode progresses, this fact has become increasingly obvious. It's almost like they focused so much on getting the pilot right that they didn't think what the season's overall story arch and general universe should look like. Hopefully they can pull everything together in the next episode. In particular, Theo's death felt untimely. We were just starting to learn more about his mother and what happened to her. I thought his storyline was going to come full circle and have someone we know be the person who killed his mother (which would further drive a wedge between Juliette and Calliope). Hopefully we'll see some sort of resolution and his quest won't be completely forgotten.
  11. Just rewatched this show and realized that it wasn't clear to me how all of the Ghosts died yet, particularly Kitty. For Kitty, I know we got the flashback episode showing us how heartless her sister was and how Kitty suppresses those memories. But did they show or tell us how she died? I'm guessing her sister was involved because she sucked but it would be interesting to know if Kitty was intentionally suppressing memories around her death as well. Also, did they tell us how the Captain died? Was it related to the bomb he buried?
  12. I did a double take at Ross' Carson Daly impersonation. He was pretty spot on! I'm guessing she thought that the probability of Jaida winning another star was low, or at least lower than the other queens. Jaida seems to mostly excel in the design challenges (again relative to her competitors). So Jinkx probably assumed there wouldn't be many design challenges left. Though of course we know there will be one next week but Jinkx didn't know that at the time. They should have done a Posh Spice thing with Raja. She doesn't really sing or dance but she looks great and does a killer runway walk. Back in the day, I went to a Spice Girls concert during their reunion tour and there was one section where each girl had a solo. Victoria Beckham's "solo" was literally a runway walk. And the crowd ate. it. up. That would have been perfect for Raja. Heh. I see what you did there.
  13. This 100%. At first I wondered if there was something wrong with my TV. Now I realize that it's just this show. Hopefully they'll fix the balance if they get future seasons.
  14. It sounded like Juliette's father is the district attorney. I'm sure that was quite an intentional and calculated move on the family's part to cover up their actions. Also, they haven't really told us how frequently the vampires need to feed. Maybe they are able to regulate themselves at some point and don't need to feed as often?
  15. But they sold the 50k copies in about 5 minutes. That would definitely get the attention of a network/Streaming Exec. Presuming the very likely possibly that this show gets picked up for season 3, the man dying from a heart attack is going to haunt Debra and Jimmy. I wonder if they included that part in the special? Did Debra or anyone else ask for an update after the show? Maybe they didn't think they needed to since Jimmy said he was fine? While Debra did the right things in stopping the show and waiting until she got a status update on his condition, once this becomes public she's going to carry the burden of public opinion (even though she thought he was okay). I wonder if she will be so loyal to Jimmy then?
  16. I am really digging this cast and enjoying this season overall but I think the over the top praise is really starting to get to me. As others have said, a little bit of constructive criticism would be refreshing. I thought Shea disappeared in that challenge and Monet wasn't as strong as we know she can be. And of course all of the runways are going to be great. All of these queens have money and can afford high quality custom designer outfits. (Though is Jaida still making all of her clothes?) But is everything really a "moment"? I thought Yvie's was the most conceptually interesting outfit tonight and all they could talk about was her shoes. I don't know... Jinkx has been trying really hard so far. I think she wants to win. I could see All Stars propelling her the way it did for Trixie. Also, Raja is pretty involved with WoW already so I think she understands the commitment. And it looks like she is trying pretty hard too. I guess it could be act on both parts but I don't think so. ETA: forgot to mention that I could have seen either Yvie or Raja up in the top with the Vivienne but I think that Ru gave the spot to Jinkx to protect her from being plunged (again) in addition to really enjoying her improv performance.
  17. Welp, I guess JoJo and the show on Peacock weren't enough to propel this group forward. So now they're going on America's Got Talent: I don't really watch AGT so I'll probably check back in a few weeks to see how they do.
  18. After Jinkx's Judy impression, there was no way she wasn't winning this episode. Trinity could have given the best lip sync of her life and the win still would have gone to Jinkx. That Dave reference was genius. This might be an unpopular opinion but I wasn't feeling the more fictitious characters like Satan and the Boogieman. Part of the point of Snatch Game is to impersonate a real person. Otherwise how is it different than any of their other sketches? That being said, I'm okay when the queens stretch their impersonation to a character that the real person played. I know it's borderline (and the show doesn't like it) but there are so many celebrities that are synonymous with a character they portrayed so it doesn't bother me as much. I wonder if Jaida is intimidated by the big personalities there. She is a more recent winner but Monet, Trinity and Shea didn't win in their first go around. So they've had an extra round of practice (which helps a lot). Though it does suck that Jaida wasn't able to get the same level of exposure after her win.
  19. Sometimes the best part of this show is watching Jameela try to be consistent with her scoring method. In the first episode, she totally gave Alpha Omega a 10 because she found them attractive. It was then hilarious watching her to try and justify scoring Revlon lower (who had a better performance imo). Anitta as a judge reminded me of Tyson Beckford. Both had no idea what was going on but loved every minute. The only difference was when it came to scoring, Tyson did whatever Leiomy told him to do. Anitta should have taken cues from the other judges (especially Leiomy and Law) and maybe add a point or two if she wanted to be nice.
  20. Yayyy All Stars is back! And potentially with a format that I may not hate (still TBD). I completely fell for the Raven gag. The whole time I kept thinking "But who will be doing Ru's makeup for the runway?" I was seriously wondering if Raven would have to pull double duty (paint Ru and herself) for each runway. Add me to the Jinkx stans here. Sooo excited that she is back. I remember seeing a clip of Jinkx somewhere saying that she felt sometimes it was difficult to stand out as winner because she was sandwiched between Sharon and Bianca Del Rio (I think it might have been in Trixie's documentary). So here's hoping that Jinkx will be able to distinguish herself further. Also, love the "water off a duck's back" callout from Michelle. The Naomi Campbell segment was nice but I thought it would have been better as a mini challenge. Maybe that was their initial intention but this is all they could work out with her schedule? Loved Cameron Diaz as a judge. She was really good with the call outs. I thought she had retired from Hollywood but maybe she's just doing gigs that she loves? I wouldn't mind seeing her back. My only criticism of this premiere is that it felt like the queens were a little too "on point". With the Ru-metaverse expanding with multiple opportunities (Vegas residency, Streaming shows on World of Wonder's platform, etc), it felt like the queens were constantly in audition mode for Ru. On one hand, that's good for us because the queens will be bringing their A game for each challenge. But on the other hand, it felt like the show lost a little bit of its authenticity (at least to me).
  21. Oh snap!!!!!!!! They really did get a couple of Spice Girls! I just finished the first episode and honestly it kinda dragged a bit but they hooked me right back in at the end. Though considering that more than one of these players didn't know Rod Stewart or what a memoir is, is there a chance that they may not recognize the Spice Girls (once the IRL reveal happens inevitably)?
  22. 100% agree about Isabel and Moesha. Hopefully we'll see them in future projects with Lizzo or other artists. For your first question, I think Lizzo said she had 10 spots total and 6-7 existing dancers (I don't remember the exact number). So there were 3-4 spots for new dancers (i.e. the contestants). But by the end, it seemed like that was kinda thrown out the window and they did whatever Lizzo wanted. I mean it is her show so of course she can do whatever she wants but it was confusing from a viewer POV. That being said, I do think this show would have benefited from a more structured format. Having a more predictable flow and outcome to the season could help Lizzo turn this show into her own regular dance competition series with multiple seasons and not something dependent on her needing to cast dancers for a tour.
  23. Trailer for season 3: Looks like Keke Palmer has replaced Megan as a judge.
  24. Official trailer for season 4 dropped today: Guessing we might get another Lance Bass situation. I suspect that if they actually had a celebrity on, they would show them in the trailer.
