Getting to Genoa You All Over Again: Y&R Daily Chat

The piano was by the front door after the ranch burnt down, in the "new" set before it was redone. I remember that specifically because Nikki played the piano for and with Reed when he first came back to Genoa City in 2018. It was such an odd place for a piano. -

I've looked and been unable to find it, too. Hopefully someone else has a clue? -
Thank you, FrankOFoley, and Happy New Year to you and all the wonderful posters here!

My mind also zipped off in that direction but came to a screeching halt when I realized that even with that scenario, this JPL version of Philip trying to cross swords with Xander would be Philip wielding a butter knife against Xander with the sword.

I'm more than a little surprised Victor doesn't make any and all women greet him by saying "Under His Eye". Even Baby. -

NinjaPenguins, you've come up my new word for 2025. Schmucklings is too divinely perfect not to be included in every genealogical chart, every family description, every biographical sketch yet to be written or revised. Well done!!!! (as always) -

For Nikki, it's 1985. For Victor, it's more like "Picture this, Sicily, 1485......" -
That was really handled badly. Eventually, Old Man Tate should tell Holly what happened. This is something she'd deserve to know if they really get serious about each other. IMO, they're nowhere near that point yet, so far it's just teenage fantasy on her part and some sort of increasingly hard to believe infatuation on his. But right now, this is Sophia's story to tell and it's HER feelings that should come first, not Holly's. Holly's not a sympathetic character for me, her selfishness and poor choices don't make her an attractive choice for Tate or anyone else. By now I'd think Tate would be begging his dad to send him back to Soccer camp for good. Holly slipped down another few points for me today. Sophia's mom is doing her best as a walk on issue, let's see if she can make her into an actual character. Right now she seems to be there mainly to be a counterpoint to Ava, who's going to be all earth mother for Sophia, I expect. I'm already over Rafe's doppelganger. It's hard enough to take one Rafe, let alone two. Paulina is such a fluglehorn of a character, all noise and no sense. She described herself as a "tough" boss to Jada when truth be told, she's just a bad boss with a shitty attitude to people she perceives to work under her. I'm glad Belle is going to be DA but save me from anymore onscreen Paulina worship, please. So what's EJ going to get up to next?

Exactly. You'd think that after the centuries she's been the Bride of Dracula, by now she'd be sitting around in a housecoat and curlers instead of dolled up like an extra from Palm Royale. I felt sorry for Claire, condemned to ring in the New Year with Victor and Nikki. If I'd been at the movies I'd have wanted to yell out, "Don't go in there!" Best line of this episode goes to Lauren, when Phyllis was stutterbarking her hate-filled harangue, after saying she'd promised her kids she was not going to do this and Lauren says "So when does the lip biting begin?" PERFECT description, ScoobieDoobs. Trouble is, how is anyone going to know Sharon's been chloroformed? That's her usual expression. Danny's back and if possible, his hair is even blacker. Completely. Not a gray hair in sight. Because that's how aging works. Yep. Okey Dokey. No way does he have a portrait of Dorian Grey's hair in his attic. Nah...... -

So do I. This is the best pairing Jack's had since he was with that psychiatrist, Emily, a long time ago. I love Peter Bergman, even when he's Cryin' Jack and I love Susan Walters portrayal of Diane. IMO, she's added a lot to the show since she was brought back. -

Adam's constant badgering makes it crystal clear exactly what a sludge being involved with him would be. It's a sad day when I don't even want Chelsea saddled with that water balloon of a man, Adam. -

I'm hoping Chance told her he got Harrison a replica of the car Summer's mother used to run down Paul and Christine. He would have gotten him a replica of the ambulance that got wrecked and burnt up when Summer's mother faked her death but Psychos Are Us was all out. I think that nobody thought the cameras would be needed since the sun shines out of the owner's (Devon) ass and illuminates everything anyway, so why waste money on cameras? Nah. Everytime she does, they shatter into a million pieces. -

Don't get too mad. Sharon and her gang are "celebrating" with Nick and any gathering with him is never fun for long. Just wait till he starts arm-farting "The First Noel". -

You're much kinder than I am, Waldo13. I'd have been content if Phyllis was visited by a giant piano falling on her head like one of those old cartoons. How big was that necklace supposed to be??? Jack, Traci, Ashley, Abby, Kyle, Theo all already have custom pieces made from it but there was still some left for Jack to make something for Diane? Dina must have displayed in a wheelbarrow. -
As Peacheslatour and Joimiaroxeu both said so well, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Holidays to all our wonderful preverts!!

Ahhh, for the days of Anne Milbauer. She was the perfect combination of quirky and comedic, and a perfect best friend co-conspirator type. Show tried for a hot second to make her more than that with Lucas and then backed off, which I'm glad they did. Anne was perfect as she was.

I'm hoping for a wonderful Christmas, Hanukkah, whatever you celebrate or even if you don't. Whatever, my lovely online friends, I wish for the very best for you all, whatever that may be.

Also, how da fluck did Claire pull off being thrilled about it? What human being, inching towards 30 wants a horsie for Christmas? Talk about presumption. That gift comes with a lot of built-in expectations and responsibilities that Victor and Vampirella apparently assume is just fine with the Chosen One. Too bad Claire didn't respond with a Do-It-Yourself Colonoscopy KIt that Victor and Nikki can do together. I call foul on Cole's gifts, too. Show can keep trying to sell Nikki as some Back Bay Matron who got lost in Wisconsin Cheese country but a 1st edition of Elizabeth Barrett Browning? That book is going to end up in Nikki's bathroom, right next to her all-time favorite, Jokes for the John. Truthfully, I ff'd almost the whole show yesterday. It's too close to Christmas for me to listen to Phyllis stutterbarking the same garbage, or watch wide-eyed, mushmouthed Sharon form giant O's with her lips while Nick stands by looking like he's fighting a losing battle with the aftermath of a giant bean burrito. Today's show better be Newman and Phyllis free. -

Merry Christmas, Artsda, and heartfelt thanks for you posting this for us every day. It's above and beyond and we thank you for it. It's so kind of you to do. -
I'm so happy you're pain has decreased. It sounds like your surgery was a success, early days, I know. Here's deeply hoping you continue to heal quickly and with as little discomfort as possible. Thanks so much for letting us know.

Second favorite part of the Show for me today was gloriously chuckling, self-satisfied EJ, playing district attorney as if he was in a high end stakes game of Risk. There's something about Dan leaning in to EJ's joy about being an evil prick that just makes me smile. Total Favorite part of the Show today, though, was Belle, just as joyously, pricking EJ's vengeance balloon and taking all the air out of it. Both of them had a bounce in their step I haven't seen for quite some time. So how exactly does a time capsule, buried in a grave, exactly work? Anyone digging it up in the future is going to look like a grave robber. Not that that's exactly unbelievable in Salem. Also, why would a Horton time capsule now be devoted solely to the memory of Abigail? Or does her annoying personality cancel everyone else out even after death? I was hoping somebody would have remembered to throw her virginity ring in there with the rest of the stuff.

Today's episode made me misplace my snark. The Abbott house, which, as Joimiaroxeu said so well, made me fall into my feelz, along with that Christmas music in the background. Then, Jack's talk with Traci about Dina, and those flashbacks, made me miss the character and her portrayer, Marla Adams, all over again. I didn't always love the storylines they gave to Dina but always loved seeing her onscreen. But, and there's always a but, Claire and Kyle's schmoopy shortcake of a date made me think of mostly of Frau Blucher in Young Frankenstein, again. Maybe not exactly the romantic image you want to project, eh, Show? Sticking with that theme, taking advice from Esther is like asking for directions from Igor. -

No, I think you got everyone. That list reminds me, though, how did she miss getting with Nick? He's never more than a scene or two between women. -
