He always seems permanently depressed. He could lower the temp in a walk in freezer. As for John Paul Lavosier, I just can't with this guy. Ron C., once again, managed to recruit one of the worst, most tic prone actor from OLTL and bring him to Salem. JPL has managed to get even worse from his Llanview days. He makes me yearn for the good old days when people got buried alive in Salem.

Hey, don't worry about it. What I do know about hair? Except I miss having any. Maybe that shark in Fiji was her stylist? -

Agreed. Being part of the Winters gang seems more like punishment detail these days. All that marshmallow talk from Lily about her realizing that working with family was all she really wanted after all, and fulfilling her father's "legacy", whatever the F that means, just shoved her back into the pack of emotionally stunted 40ish year olds in GC who have to live in their families back pockets. I try to like Devon, I really do, and sometimes I succeed. But I think he's always going to be that guy at the party, the one married to a friend of yours, who you can never really figure out what the HELL she sees in him, the one you all take turns talking to because nobody really wants to get stuck with the guy for long. Abby's hair looks great. Oh yeah, one more thing. Billy said to Sally that he'd had a tough day. Doing what, exactly? Was he polishing his nasal walls? Raising his forehead? Opening his own Jaboutique Whinery? Or does he now consider an all day pity party to be a job? If he goes for Phyllis over Sally, Show better insert a laugh track. -
I think this was when Ava was actually introduced to Days, wasn't it? Better minds than mine please correct...... Ava glommed on to Steve when the Brady family was in Ireland and she sabatoged the plane to stop them from flying home to Salem. The plane did take off but started to fail midflight. Before it crashed, Shawn gave his own oxygen mask to Bo to save him and then Shawn died in the crash. I'm barely watching Show since Doug's funeral, other than the last few scenes with KA, and what I've been able to catch of Steve and Kayla. I have little interest in the rest. I did tune in to see somebody, finally, put a bullet into that played out villian, Clyde, so I caught a bit of the rescue of Cat's mother. I just don't care. Maybe that will change but Show, once again, puts all this effort into trying to drum up interest and suspense in the rescue and reconciliation of characters we've either never seen before or seen very little of, like the Greene siblings. They could all disappear tomorrow and I wouldn't care, though I'd miss Aaron's goofy likeability. Cat might be good, I like the actress, but so far I don't see much life between her and Chad and her introduction story has been dreadful IMO. Now, wondering where Abby's body is just seems distasteful, at best. At worse, it indicates that character will probably reappear at some point, which I really don't want. But mostly, I just don't care very much. Good job, Ron C.

Now wasn't that special? Granny Goldbricks had some lowly department store drones bring over oodles and uggles of goodies so Claire can look her part when she starts climbing her way to the top at Chancellor by starting at the top. What an arduous climb it will be! There's the look Granny was going for! Impress those peasants. Victor is the most odious he's been in years. Everyone kowtows to him, at least those unlucky enough to have a blood relationship to him and all that fawning makes them look pretty pathetic. Claire, at least, stood her ground. She also looked about as eager to spend time alone with him as she would a sewer line break. I'm wondering if Claire is going to be the victim of whatever Jordan and Uncle Festus are planning? Are they going to do something that makes her choose between saving Nikki or some other Newman, or Kyle? Will she then end up the victim? Inquiring minds are barely interested. One other thing from today's show. I was disappointed, though not surprised, that Show ultimately made Lily go back to Winters, made it that the Boys Club ultimately knew what was best for the little lady. May they all get a really bad case of jock itch. -

I bet her airbag hates her, too. I'm waiting for that weird dolly thingy they've got hanging on the wall at Crimson Lights to climb down one day and strangle Phyllis with her overworked vowels. Another day, another retread of the same shit. In this episode, we even got repeats, a variation on a theme in the SAME episode. In one scene, Sharon says she's going to be hypnotized, Faith, Mariah and Nick express doubts but then agree to go along with it. Then, a few scenes later, Sharon says she's going to be hypnotized, Faith and Nick act like this is news to them, and not good news. Either short term memory loss is now a Genoa City epidemic or they're all toked up beyond belief. I'm sorry, but Ian and Jordan are about as scary as angry shoppers at a Ross Dress for Less Tuesday Senior Discount Day. In fact, I've been far more frightened in the check out lane there than I would be if I saw those two coming at me. Not to be outdone in the "how many times must we see this" department, we had to watch Billy moan and groan again because Jack didn't kiss his booboo and make the pain go away, or in other words, sooth his ruffled feathers with another job he doesn't deserve. It wouldn't so hard to take if he wasn't always so unpleasant about it, and so goddamned rude to Jack. He's as tiresome and entitled as Kyle and sometimes almost as self-centered and self-impressed as that old toad,Victor. Lauren........ I know it's a soap and I know we don't expect reality, but I would love to JUST ONCE, see anyone dressed like Lauren - or Phyllis, for that matter - walk down the main street of a small Wisconsin town. Just once. -
No need to apologize, you were just stating some intriguing options if Show hopefully decides to revise this family's origin story away from what was, for many of us, a prolonged and unneeded storyline centered around Konstantin. Being tied to him, at this point, isn't advantageous to these new characters. ETA - If Show goes the route you've outlined, I vote for Steve. It'd fit with the disdain he had for Konstantin from the outset, and would give him something to do. To me, Steve feels underutilized and would give him a focus other than the rarely seen Black Patch.

Unless Harrison and Claire's pigeon story involved the bird either crapping on their heads or actually giving them the bird, nobody's interested. -

She should really bond with her Uncle Adam, then, since she's following in his footsteps! -

Didn't she falter on her feet and sort of fall into the wall? And do her gaping mouth like a startled goldfish thing? I continue to be unimpressed with the marvelous CZ. If she really hates Claire and wants to teach her a lesson, then wouldn't the best thing be to let Claire proceed in her relationship with Kyle? I can't think of any punishment worse than that. -

Thanks for bringing this up. When I saw Show yesterday, Crimson Lights looked like a legion of Christmas elves threw up all over the place and then Sharon just draped everything with tinsel and lights. Also, any chance that for Christmas, Santa can kidnap Esther and drop her off in the icy waters near the Artic Circle? Even my feelings for storyline nostalgia don't stretch far enough to include her. -

I'll light a candle to whichever Dark Lord or Green Garden Goddess controls insane romantic couplings so we NEVER have to see Phyllis and Bill the Rump Biscuit in any sort of physically romantic entanglement. It's be like either a Praying Mantis getting on with Gumby or a suddenly animate jumble of pickup sticks trying to do the dirty. Neither my mind nor my failing eyesight can handle it. -

Show was like a seven course meal, except all the courses are exactly the same. We had a scene of Sharon wanting to plead guilty with Nick and Michael trying to talk her out of it. Then we had it again. And again. Aaaaand, one more time, minus Michael but plus Faith. Then we had Jack and Diane talking about trying to make a real boy out of that bag of hair, Kyle, with Jack double apologizing or something. Then we had it again. And again. And one more time. We had Kyle and St. Bernadette of Lourdes giggling and aww shucking about having had sex, along with accolades of Claire's goodness and Kyle's godlike ways, and then we had it again. And again. And, finally, we had it with a dose of saltpeter otherwise known as Summer. And it's all empty calories. -

It's not the most appropriate comparison to make, I guess, but that whole afterglow conversation between Kyle and LIttle Miss Muffet who apparently, sat on a tuffet for the very first time made this pop immediately into my mind. Romance does that to me. It's the little things that count. -

Oops! There was so much entitlement running amok I almost forgot about Picklepuss and that carbunkle she calls a husband. First, Mr. Mumbles blurbles out something about how Nikki has "made the office her own". Really? Looked like the same Design by Ikea it was before. Perhaps Victor means the smell. The ooze of smarm can't be bottled. I suggest Industrial strength Febreze. Then, Nikki really did look like she'd bitten into a giant kosher dill at the same time Victor let the hell hounds loose, so to speak. But no, that was just Ms. You Gotta Have a Gimmick of 1982 giving attitude to Diane. The most amazing part of today's show is that someone actually got PAID to write it. Wonders will never cease. sorry, double post -

I'm confused......which one was the airbag, again? Because, going by what we saw at the coffee shop, the difference between a windbag and an airbag might be very slight. For more than a minute there I thought I was seeing a trailer for some new Jurassic Park movie before I realized that gaping mouth hissing venom was Phyllis. Again. When I saw she brought along her hand puppet, Summer, it all began to make sense. Unfortunately. Does today's show mean we're finally done with all the "I've changed" blather from Phyllis? I only wish the judge that gave her community service for playing dead, burning bodies, killing that guy and sending Diane to prison witnessed Phyllis today. -
I loved him on that show.

I so agree. It may not be a widely held opinion, but Eli slid into his relationship with Julie and Doug, and into the Horton family so believably because of what a fine actor Lamon Archey is. He projects honesty and caring so naturally, IMO. His and Julie's scenes, for me, carried the day. Also, that ending shot with the women of Salem was very moving. Jennifer's call to Hope, both actresses played that very well, I thought. Well done, Show.

I thought it was about a boycott of that chicken sandwich place, Chick fil-A, that's it! - over an anti-LBTQ stance, and Missy tweeted something in support of them. I thought it was Linsey Godfrey who tweeted some blow back Melissa's way. But I could be misremembering this.... -
So Slappie's back in town! I can't quarrel with Jennifer giving Cat a slap, considering what she did, but Jennifer's slap, and then her telling Chad and JJ what they were and were not going to do reminded me of the bad old days when Show was Jennifer and Abigail heavy and the mother/daughter duo were walking around Salem slapping their way through the week. I didn't really think Cady's Jennifer was very good but at least I didn't dislike her the way I do Melissa's Jen. Thank the soap Gods that Kate Mansi is employed elsewhere, so there's currently no chance to reunite that unholy duo. It's nice to see Eli again, I always like it when he's around. It seems that Lani never bothers seeing the woman she considered to be her mother, the one who raised her, after finding out that Foghorn Paulina was her birth mother. Show acts like she and Lani were always mother and daughter when in fact it's not been all that long. I love that Eli deals with the overbearing women in his life - mother-in-law Paulina and grandmother Julie, with affection but with absolutely no intention of letting them run his life in any way. He does it with a smile but there's iron in that man's spine. So Doug's passing begins. Let there be some grace in all of this.

I read that Julie's brother, Steven, had a son named Spencer. Spencer never appeared onscreen but Julie supposedly mentioned her brother had this son. Maybe the guy is Steven Olson's grandson?
