Maybe this should go in the unpopular opinion thread, or maybe I should join the DOOL facebook page (LOL), but I don't hate Melanie. I'd never seen her earlier times on the show, so my opinion is based on the current storylines only, but she's grown on me. In fact, from the very beginning I thought she and Theresa should be friends, and it's annoyed me that instead they made them rivals. Yes, her quirks and tics are weird, but they do make her stand apart from the other women. And she's not Abigail, so that's a plus. And I think she and Brady are cute together. I still HATE, with a passion, Daniel though. And Daniel and Nicole as a couple. And Maxine's Melanie love is a bit overdone. So maybe I belong here, afterall. LOL.

Now that I've learned the nicknames, I agree they are easier to remember than the actor's initials. Especially when you don't know most of the actor's names. But, from a not-so-long-ago DOOL returnee, I still find it a lot easier to read, understand and enjoy posts when just the character names are used.

One of the spoiler sites (http://www.dayscafe.com/sneakpeek.html) advises that "Hope's granddaughter comes home a teenager", so perhaps they are not SORASing Ciara afterall. edit to add: I see this was already mentioned upthread. At the time it didn't click that "Claire" was Hope's granddaughter. So now, the granddaughter will be older than her daughter, unless they are in fact, SORASing Ciara as well.

I previously posted that I had trouble deciphering posts with the nicknames. That was several months ago when I'd just restarted watching regularly again. So not only was I trying to learn who all the new-to-me characters were (Ben/Jordan/Chad/Abigail/JJ/Sonny/Will/Eve/Paige etc.) I then had to try to translate the nicknames to match the characters who I didn't really know. Now that I've been watching a while, I know all the characters, as well as the nicknames, so most posts make sense to me now. But I can sympathize with the newbies who find them confusing. And just a quick thanks again to ShadowSixx for the daily recaps. I wasn't able to watch yesterday, so really appreciated reading about the reveal.

I had to look too, so I found the show online. Her outfit looks like a nightgown covered by a bath robe. However, I must give credit where credit it is due, and Whoopi's hair looked pretty good. Much better than the last time I'd watched when it was longer. It's scary when Whoopi has better hair than Raven (obviously) and Rosie (her hair still looks too dark and heavy in my opinion).

I don't remember all the specifics of Mike Hortons' storylines, but my memories of him are fond. I loved him and April. I loved the brother/sister affection with Jennifer. I'm sure he wasn't always perfect, but my overall of opinion, of when I watched, is good. I just find Daniel is either written badly or I don't like the way the actor portrays him. I get so tired of him poking his nose into everyone's business that has nothing to do with him. (i.e. Paige & JJ, Serena & Xander, etc.) and having a nasty attitude about their business. And I really HATE the way he has been treating Nicole. And for that matter, women in general. if Daniel got a job in another city, or died, I wouldn't miss him at all. Interestingly, the first time I remember seeing Daniel was when he and Jennifer were at the Horton cabin and Jennifer had appendicitis. They were stranded on the island and Daniel was worried about during the surgery because of a shakiness in his hand. I think they were just falling in love at that point. And I have no idea what had happened to his hand. But my first impression of Daniel were good. That was back when I just watched DOOL on the odd occasion, so maybe I just caught Daniel on a "good day".

Maybe I'm in an extra generous mood today, but I actually liked Melanie and Abigail chatting like two (mostly) normal young women. It made sense for Abigail to discuss her love life with a friend instead of her mother. And even, yes, Abigail over at Sonny & Will's made sense. Anything, really, is better than watching all the adults involved in the love lives of their children!

Out of curiousity, I turned the show on for a minute (literally) earlier when the blond was talking about losing baby weight. But I was distracted by hair. Specifically Raven (in Whoopi's chair) with "don't take me seriously" hair. And Rosie Perez with a scary hat hair wig(?) on her head with the side bangs heavier and longer than ever. I certainly am not a stranger to "bad hair days" but how can ABC let these women go on TV with that hair!

Do they film a bunch of scenes and then plunk them into a show and hope the timeline makes sense? I know people hop around town at the speed normal people go to another room in their house, but today Jenn showing up home when she was at the town square(?) in the previous scene seemed more off than usual. Did they drop the Alzheimer's storyline with Caroline? I love the actress and don't want them to have to write her out of the show, but for someone with memory issues, she sure seems on top of the latest happenings. Has May sweeps started yet? Because if today's ending which I barely remember (JJ mumbling to himself) is sweeps, I somehow can't see ratings going through the roof.

In one of the threads someone posted that they did in fact edit in some scenes with Caroline last week, and removed scenes with Paul's mother. Someone also posted that Dena HIgley wanted them to do start airing her episodes right away, but I'm sure that would be too expensive.

I kept expecting Leonard to say there was a baby, so "just a kiss" was a relief. But I was so happy when they decided to elope, that the kiss revelation ruined it for me. I do, however, hope they are married when the new season begins. It's about time Amy broke up with Sheldon. I know it won't be permanent, but I can't see Sheldon ever transforming enough to be a husband. I wish they had left Amy as the female version of Sheldon, then I think they'd both have been happy with their friendship. I liked the silence with Sheldon when he was digesting the fact that Amy had broken up with him. I think they should have left it there and not brought the ring out from left field. So Raj still does not have the right girlfriend. I think awkward Lucy and Raj had more chemistry, though I know I'm in the minority in that opinion. The Howard, Bernadette, Stuart storyline was the one I enjoyed the best. Though it was still a bit sad that Stuart is still all alone with no one who wants him around. So, not my favourite finale, but I guess a touch better than last year when Sheldon ran away. Howard goes into space is my favourite.

I've gotten better translating the nicknames the longer I've been re-watching, especially now that I actually know who all the "new to me" characters are. But even now I sometimes get confused when more than one nickname is used for the same character. Especially when it's in the same sentence! LOL. It's not so much a nickname, but a literal description, but why is Adrienne referred to as "Sonny's mother"? Is it because until this thing with Lucas, she had no storyline of her own?

I haven't watched more than a few minutes since Rosie left, and haven't even bothered to turn it on at all for weeks. But I do still read this board to see what's going on. I didn't watch at all last year with Jenny, so I have no opinion of her on The View. But I did always kinda like Sherri, and at least she was a familiar face. Wonder if it would have helped the show and ratings if they'd kept her. At least there'd be 2 familiar faces, instead of "Whoopi and the No Names" . Because I think that's my biggest problem with the show right now. I'm not really a Whoopi fan, and I don't know the strangers, so I don't feel a pull to tune in each day to see my tv "friends".

I can't always watch everyday, and will miss more once summer gets here. And as entertaining as your (ShadowSixx) regular recaps are, they can sometimes be confusing, especially if you didn't see the show that day. So, I definitely would appreciate your unbiased/nickname free daily recaps. That is if you have time do them, in addition to your *biased* ones. :)

I was sure during the scene with the girls that Penny would get a call saying she got the part. I also think that will be this year's cliff-hanger, that she does get the part and either needs to go away to shoot the movie, or she and Leonard break up (yet again!) if she accepts it. Was the audition supposed to be the role in the movie referenced in last week's episode? I agree with others that the gang is starting to look older. I am glad Kaley cut her hair, if only to apparently force the show runners to grow Penny up somewhat. Otherwise I feel this would have been another season of loser Penny. Looks like Raj is never going to have a girlfriend who is a regular on the show. At least not this season. Her name is Emily, right? If so, the writers need to get a baby name book to find some new girl's names, because I recently saw the episode where Raj dated the deaf girl, and her name was also Emily.

I came here to read the comments on last night's episode, and not only were there no comments, there was no episode thread. Hope it's ok that I created one. Episode description: Penny is torn between auditioning for a movie or keeping her successful pharmaceutical sales job, and Raj is asked to create a message in case a NASA mission discovers alien life.

I might be able to feel sorry for Will if he hadn't cheated with Paul. They could have done this triangle storyline without Will cheating. All Will's insecurities could still be there. Sonny would still be torn between Will and Paul, without having the anger towards Will. And Paul could even still be John's son. Will could still want Paul to leave town and maybe even do the whole blackmail with Paul's mother. But at least Will would not be a cheater. But I guess the writer's don't want us to feel sorry for Will.

Thanks everyone for the Abigail/Jack history. I don't generally like Abigail, but today I wondered if I'd like her better with someone other than Ben. (I only started re-watching after a LONG hiatus last summer)

Eve was married to Jack? Abigail caused her father's death? Guess I have to Google DOOL history again!

Why the big deal about Jack's book? What was it about? And while I'm asking questions, why does Eve get proceeds from its sales?

I like all 3 of those characters, as well. That said, I am so hating the dragging on of everyone obsessing over JJ & Paige's college romance. In fact, I turned the show off today, after Daniel hung up on Nicole because prying into JJ's life was more important.
