  1. Maybe my POV is colored by Joe and Mika's pre-2017 actions, but I tend to take Wallace (and O'Donnell and Maddow) more seriously, partly because they allow their guests to clearly and concisely explain what's going on. I need some help understanding some of the legal maneuverings going on now and I feel more informed when Joe isn't chattering over everyone. Even Claire appears more focused when she's on anywhere that isn't MJ. I do agree re your other post about the networks rooting for chaos. I feel they've all been promoting Trump's candidacy since January 7th, 2021 - MJ included. And yes, @tres bien I think the coverage of the Monique Worrell story has been shoddy. Mika's "thanks for knowing your value!" didn't help. Because I am weak Mika won me back during the Clarence Thomas coverage. "Hospitality is banana bread, not tuition!"
  2. To me, Bethenny's lack of candor re It's About Tom clearly showed how Bravo allowed her to be part of production. She got to be the star of a three-episode vacation arc when she wasn't even present for half of it. And one of her first declarations on camera was 'don't ask me who took the picture because I'll never tell'. It was all too manufactured. I was under the impression the letter sent by Mark Geragos (who I believe is under investigation for fraud) was separate from Bethenny's call for a union. I also think the "Bethenny clause" has been made out to be more than what it is, partly bc one member of production interviewed years ago stated that the RH producers urged Bethenny (much like her father did, allegedly) to focus on one endeavor bc her business interests were all over the place and didn't make sense as a brand. @KungFuBunny I do think it's funny that Bethenny is now so offended by Bravo's antics, considering how dismissive she was to so many (specifically Kristen, Jules and Tinsley) who signed on for the same gig as her. I also don't think reality television's exploitation would bother Bethenny much if Bravo had given her everything she asked for a few years ago.
  3. She asks her fiance why he's with her but advises us it's because she's smart and funny? Every sentence is a set-up. If someone doesn't want to get married, that's fine. But isn't marriage the point of an engagement? Or am I too old fashioned to understand this?
  4. One of Donny's "Brand Up"s was spouses sleeping in separate beds for better rest. Donny closed out the segment with a comment like 'I'm not referring to you two' and Joe responded with a slightly moody statement that he & Mika share a bed. To me, they appear year-round to be filming in different locations half the time which was why I questioned the comment.
  5. Infuriating when Joe went on about knowing "Bobby" for a long time and how "he's always been a good guy to me" and he's a really "gifted guy". O'Donnell's segment was steady, pointed and a realistic telling of the man Robert Jr has always been. Joe didn't appreciate any reference to him not sharing a bed with Mika. I'm not entirely clear how the two always share a bed when they rarely seem to be in the same city.
  6. Forgive my VCR-level knowledge of technology: I think there are a limited number of theaters in the US (google says 70) that are considered the "true" IMAX experience based on screen size, resolution, idk what else (FLA has 2 of these theaters, not including the ones at the Space Center). Oppenheimer is only showing at 30 of those theaters. I know too much about the release of this film bc I've been waiting on it for the past year and a half. It's seriously the only film I've considered going to see inside a theater to watch in years.
  7. Well Joe got over that real quick, stepping over Mika's simple yet valid question so Christie had time to position his defense for backing Trump for four years. ETA: I mean, I know Christie has a canned answer prepared but 8t would have been nice to hear an immediate answer to Mika's brief and direct question.
  8. Welcome back, Joe! If you're going to switch your role from dumb country lawyer to entertainment reporter please keep in mind most of your viewers don't have the ability to fly to one of the three states they reside in to get to an IMAX theater. Rock & Roll Man does sound like an interesting way to tell the story, but if anyone can't get to NYC and wants to see Joey Pants in another fictionalized account of a pivotal figure in music I highly, highly recommend The Idolmaker.
  9. Hands down the best thing to come out of the pandemic was his FB show, which I believe was the origin of Symon's Dinners Cooking Out. And he is an excellent teacher which is rare. I don't know why the show doesn't have it's own thread bc it's really great.
  10. I loathe when HWs go after women who have had real careers. Heather is irritating as hell, but she has a legit resume AND she toured as a singer for years. I cannot with Taylor. She tried to pull the same "insecure" b.s. with LVP. I didn't buy it then and I don't buy it now.
  11. I think many of the FN personalities who didn't have a career as a chef fall into this trap. The professionals can develop a lot of different recipes with few ingredients. Michael Symon will make a main and side or dessert and a cocktail and everything fits on the small outdoor table. Meanwhile Valerie and Molly Yeh are making gimmick-y food with candy bars. I think next week is the final episode. A tribute to Betty White. She's making Red Licorice Stuffed Cupcakes. 🙁
  12. She got the spinoff before the sale - I think most of the first season was pre-wedding.
  13. Bethenny claims Bravo caused her to feel pressure to marry Jason. In her heart she knew it was not going to work out but everyone including Andy told her Jason was great (and they gave her a spinoff that helped launch her brand).
  14. Whatever anyone thinks of Jason or whatever Bethenny now says about why she got married, the girl looked like she was getting it properly. She looked happy.
  15. Going after Claire? No, man. Just no. Joe has also lost the ability to count. It was less than eight years ago when he was calling Trump to check if MJ should be asking him easier questions. And these people who we need "to show grace"? They let us know for four years what they would do to the American people just to get closer to power and that's more than enough reason to deem them ill-suited for government if I choose to do so.
  16. Scheana has been trying to ice out Katie since S2, exceptions being during her wedding season when she was trying to ice out Stassi and S7 when Scheana was trying to get back into the group. Scheana also ushered in Ariana, defending her and calling Kristen crazy. Much like she tried to sponsor Raquel after trying to hijack her engagement party the previous season. Sandoval and Scheana have repeated the same shady behavior over the years that it's always made me side-eye Ariana for her choice in companions.
  17. When Joe is in attendance he still disappears for hours, yet Deadline has had a chyron for the past hour: JOE TALKS TUCKER CARLSON TONIGHT AT 8. Why? Zoe Lofgren covered it nicely with Nicole, "Its a blessing for the country, it's a blessing for the world." Done! (No mention of a Mika appearance but I'd like her to be in the background with that big cat who jumped into the filled bathtub on IG.)
  18. I'm sure Bethenny will turn this unfortunate situation into a teachable moment for herself and reflect how her comments on social media and television and in interview hurt her co-workers, ex-husbands, family, her former boyfriend's wife and random Walmart employees. I mean, I get Bryn's a kid and I don't support directing insults at adolescents. But the internet can be a terrible place (a place Bethenny has used plenty to lash out at anyone on her list at any given day) and lot of parents don't allow their children on social media for a reason.
  19. I did find the tone of the scene odd but my take on the inclusion of the proposal this week was just to set up Parissa somehow saving Teddy next episode. If someone told me during S3 how much I'd eventually enjoy any scene with Skully I wouldn't have believed them. Also, I appreciated Einstein's airbrushed Jerome memorial tee. Hopefully Amin Joseph got one for directing the episode.
  20. He said Paltrow - much like Taylor Swift - was taking a stand for the Right Thing, heavily implying if not outright stating the lawsuit was frivolous. For someone who doesn't shut up about Jeffersonian democracy Joe really likes influencing the court of public opinion against regular folk. I don't know if the plaintiff in the case is in the absolute right but I do know he's dealing with a defendant who is accustomed to the media and has deep pockets. It also seems the resort disregarded the plaintiff completely and lied on at least one report in Paltrow's favor. But you're right - Mika's got KYV and Joe's got his 10 minute celebrity interviews to close the show and Willie's got Sunday Today and none of them want to fill that time with a 76 y/o optometrist.
  21. Not just you. Yes, it's probably due in part to Joe's confidence that he's speaking directly to Trump every morning but it's not sitting well with me at all. Scarborough had even said a couple of years ago that we would have to continue to hold politicians who supported Trump accountable long after Trump was gone. I guess that's gone out with the bathwater. Seriously. They bring Donny on every few weeks to complain about WFH on a show where the hosts had a studio built in their apartment that's a thousand miles away from everyone else. How they carry these segments with straight faces is beyond my understanding. Yeah, I have no use for KYV but I was holding out a little hope for Mika for a few days during Oscar season. Willie & Joe's cheerleading for Top Gun was disturbing and I appreciated her side-eye, which turned into "no comment" when Joe actually turned to her for reaction. Of course Joe will never stop catering to the folks who really matter, as evidenced this week when he declared Gwyneth Paltrow a true champion for standing up for the right thing.
  22. I am almost Valerie's age and I get some of this. Valerie was a hot number who put on weight during both of her marriages and some men really show their ass when that happens. As someone who grew up in a home where excess weight was considered a health matter and not a moral indictment I was legit shocked as an adult (and still am) when I heard how others spoke about people's bodies that weren't their own. I also think even though at a certain age we have (hopefully) a bit of wisdom and perspective it can be harder to overcome what one sees as a betrayal. We think we've built good armor and have learned to filter out the bad but then something knocks us down and we're less prepared for it bc we thought we were doing everything right. All that being said, I will never understand (as I post online!) the personal videos. It feels like she is just slapping back at the ex. Valerie has literally written three books about the same subject. This feels like stagnation, not healing. (And while I do believe people with money are allowed to have personal problems the videos also really, really irk me bc so many women who have been through similar experiences are left with nothing. It's pretty shocking to me that Valerie can't put this together.)
  23. The moral integrity Lala has displayed trying to live through Randall doing to her exactly what he did to his ex whilst Lala pretended not to know about it is truly inspiring.
  24. This. I like Mika (kind of). But seriously? Hair loss for women really sucks. But she basically states in the article it was actually breakage. Does Mika not put it together that bleaching causes damage? Instead of the doctor she should have called Claire or Katty who have actual lowlights. That being said I am impressed Mika cuts her own hair. I look like crime victim when I try to cut mine.
