OMG, yes! I have to watch Matlock whenever I visit my grandma. I hadn't made the connection that it was the same actor.

He was so funny in American Fiction.

I didn't know this was going to be a 3 parter (it's ending next week, right?) They're dragging this out. People are used to streaming these kinds of to-be-continued stories now. Having it go over 3 literal weeks is testing my patience.

I like TJ and Nell, too. They would work as friends or as a couple. She needs new people in life.
-
Karan Soni is also in a cute romantic drama called 7 Days. It's on Hulu. I think the kid that Ava blocked was the one who broke two toilets last season.

Thanks @Snazzy Daisy. Seeing this video has made my day 😍😍

Quinta Brunson won Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series and William Stanford Davis won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the NAACP Image Awards on Saturday. Abbott Elementary also won for Outstanding Comedy Series.

The board game Drought was on the top of Jacob's box when he was moving in. Nice callback to the game night with Janine's sister. Didn't they already kind of bond in that Christmas episode? Although it's more like Jacob is Mr. Johnson's biggest fan than he is a friend.

My favorite side moment was Dr. Pete being petty because they didn't bring him any cake. 😂 Ormewood was sooo proud of himself for going to grocery store and dropping the kids off at school. Aww, look at him, finally being a parent.

Can Zola disappear like the new docs did last year? I'd even be cool with them killing her off at this point. Can't they give Crockett someone less annoying to interact with?

Zach's singing outro and the fleeing sub in the cold open were my two favorite scenes.

I wasn't 100 percent paying attention so maybe I missed it, but was there any resolution to Angie "killing" her abuser? She was supposed to have a hearing, but then she was kidnapped. Now, she's talking about taking the physical exam to come back to work. Did they mention anything about the outcome of the hearing or if she got therapy or anything? I imagine that any time off for the incident would coincide with her physical recovery, but until the girl popped up, I had forgotten about the whole thing.

I always look forward to the these, too. Using the monitors was very clever. It's incredibly sad that the girl Angie tried to help last season has ended up in such a crappy situation. She's all alone in the world now?

I saw a similar comment about fast talking on the Abbott Elementary forum. I honestly wonder if it's because the networks keep making commercial breaks longer, so there's less time for the actual episode to play out.

It's Gen Z speak meaning "average" or "mediocre."
-
It wasn't really voluntary, but they had some good scenes together when she had to introduce him for the Teacher of the Year award.

I find it hard to believe that Jacob (who made fermented no-bake cookies) vapes or that Janine smokes weed.
-
No, we haven't seen the new guy before. I wanted to see her with Dr. Farhad, too. I think I'm going to carry a grudge about not seeing more of him for as long as this show is on the air. 🤷🏾 Probably the same amount of time I'll be pissed about them killing Cricket.

Sheryl Lee Ralph does indignation so well. The way Barbara said "incompetence with women" and glared at Jacob was so perfectly over the top.

Vince Staples (Maurice) has a new show on Netflix that starts tomorrow called The Vince Staples Show. The trailer looks interesting.

Oh my goodness, when the female assistant was explaining to the male assistant (do they have names?) that pushing the button multiple times doesn't make the elevator come faster, with zero sarcasm in her voice, I think I felt physical pain.

This show feels like it was written for CBS. Simplistic storylines, totally predictable, boring inoffensive characters.

S03.E01/E02: Career Day Part 1/Career Day Part 2

Which makes it all the more funny that Jacob hangs on to every word and believes him! That bounce was the best. I worked briefly in archives, and the thing that bothers me most about the lack of teaching cursive is that future adults won't be able to read old letters and documents. Not a huge deal, but it will be a lost art. -
S03.E01/E02: Career Day Part 1/Career Day Part 2

Oh, right! There was one scene, I think in the teachers lounge, where Janine asks the others if they've seen a certain movie, and over the intercom, Ava says, "Janine, that movie was crazy." -
Those scones were also bizarrely huge. I've never seen any that big. Super dry and super-sized don't go together well.
