I think it was a bad idea for the most experienced artists to pick DJ, the most controlling team leader. Anthony would probably be the guy who would give them competitive advice related to the show itself, while letting them have their creative freedom. We saw DJ's micromanagement last season. It should have been a warning. They made their own bed there. On the other hand, the very inexperienced would typically be better with Steve or DJ. Someone like Cutie de Silva is just talented enough that it doesn't matter, so Anthony was a good choice.

I have three years to remain in the demo, @sourpickles. Holding on...

Finally watched. I gave up early last season, and this might be the only episode for me. Too much fan service for shippers. Still. I don't want this bullshit relationship, and it's a reason I gave up on the franchise years ago. Solve cases. I don't want to see their "love" or their version of domesticity. I want their friendship, comraderie, and professional rapport, and those things only. This show is such a mess, and I am so disappointed.

That makes sense @Charlesman. I honestly didn't know what Dave meant, but that's probably how it will work.

It's already been announced. Gia won't be there, but the other three will. They're just women who know how to tattoo. They will improve with practice. And Kelly's head thing is divisive (lol), but lots of people love it. I may not, but Twitter people adore it, for the most part.
-
Maybe he got another one later, but this was the first woman he got. She was #3 tattoo. https://mobile.twitter.com/inkmaster/status/942907350406520832

Deanna Smith is her name. I had to go look again. And, to answer another question, some of the Angels winners were eliminated. At least one or two of the eliminated women won the Angel face-off.
-
The woman with the long red braids who chose DJ in the first round is from Angels, too. There's a recap of sorts if you go through Ink Master's Twitter. It notes who is from Angels, but you have to look at each tweet.

I recognized Daniel, the newbie from San Francisco, who got in from Angels. He's with Anthony. Can't say that I recognized anyone else. For some reason, I thought those winners would be guaranteed to get on a team, and the others would have to fight for their spots. I also expected some lucky losers from Angels, like Ed Hardy's son. Wrong on both counts.

The blind judging gaffe had me laughing. Anthony representing Tucson had me warm and fuzzy. The previews had me excited. Yay! My favorite show is back and didn't disappoint. I like this three team thing much better than Peck v Nuñez. It's much more fair. I liked the guys having to sell themselves to the artists. I love that the masters will actually compete in the finale. And I am so happy to have my IM friends to talk to again.

I will check in and see what you all have to say about the spoilers, but I am signing off the show until it's Survivor again. Two straight seasons where advantages and HII were all that mattered. Throw in a sob story, and it was just useless. After Cirie, I gave them a season to redeem themselves. They only got worse, and this "theme" looks even worse. Someone PM me if it gets good again. :)

A night of pity votes and idols. What a shitty end to a great season. Not sure I will be back. I am over the idols, advantages and related bullshit. Two seasons in a row where they made all the difference. No point in watching it anymore.

Wish Ben or Devon was gone, but just as happy that it was Ashley. I don't think Ben is a threat for the win, and I believe Chrissy knows this. She's not letting her hatred of Ben or bitterness at his flipping get in the way of these last vital votes. I think Ashley had a much better chance of winning FTC than Ben. Probably the best chance of anyone out there to win. Her pettiness at Devon not picking her was also indication that she carries a grudge, and blamed Chrissy for the decision but Devon for going along with it. Very much the smart target. Ben is a good goat, no matter what he thinks. This has been my favorite season in years. Nothing goes as expected. People think on their feet. If the idols and advantages hadn't been a part of it, this would be a perfect season.

Ben has been on my shit list for weeks. Just one more for the pile. But I don't care about that blowhard. He might do away with his Marine Hero advantage through his own behavior and hand the game to Chrissy. The thought makes me very happy. Another great episode. Also, looks more and more like my suspicion was correct that Ben wasn't trying to help Chrissy when he and Devon acted like assholes over the idol a few weeks back.

All Episodes Talk: Independent Lens
azshadowwalker replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Independent Lens [V]
I wish it was there. I looked a few months ago, and they only have supplemental information about the episode. Searched again, and it's not there now, either. Thanks for the suggestion, though! Just searched Netflix streaming, and it's not coming up there, either. Dammit. -

Anyone know where to find old episodes? I am specifically looking for A Lion in the House, the episode about kids with terminal cancer. It's stuck with me all these years, and I want to see those kids again. It's the only documentary from the entire run of the show that I remember like yesterday. -
I would prefer, "Come on in, survivors," or someone will soon be insisting it is captioned as, "Come on in, folx."

Most of all, I am just happy that the men are all turning out to be fucking idiots. Ben's obsession with being a "double agent" to get Joe is completely emotional. Joe being a blowhard ass crack was stupid, and got the Little Soldier Boy all riled to get him out. Ryan didn't put enough extra weight on to keep his head together for 39 days. Devon is way too impressed with himself, and will take his hurt feelings over his broken bromance to Ponderosa soon, I think. All points to a female winner, with the edit suggesting to me that it will be Chrissy overcoming. I am digging the hell out of this season.
-
Great week. Didn't care about JP, but his ouster kicked Chrissy and Ryan in the pants enough to get them moving. Joe is gone. Chrissy survived. I felt like my team won on a last-second TD when Chrissy took immunity, literally jumping up and saying, "Yes!" Great episode!

Ink Master: Angels - General Discussion
azshadowwalker replied to 2727's topic in Ink Master: Angels
I have that suspicion, too. At the very least, the top personalities or people with strong stories who just had a bad day will be back. It wouldn't surprise me if everyone from the San Francisco episode made the main show, for example. -
Ink Master: Angels - General Discussion

I guess we have reason for a media thread now. Season two announcement. Looks like Gia's health will sideline her, but the other three will be back. http://www.spike.com/articles/2zg3kl/ink-master-angels--ink-master-angels-soar-into-second-season -
Perhaps, which would make his intentions better, but I am not sure. I think it's kind of silly to try to "save" someone when your actions are more likely to cause injury. I recently had this argument IRL with my husband. And they all ran down only because of the idol. It was a fight between the men over the idol, which knocked Chrissy over. Because both were doing their macho thing without thinking about the repercussions. And I don't care if it's been done before. It's a crappy thing to do, and physical confrontation outside challenges should be banned. Someone will get fucked up someday, and everyone will ask why production ever allowed it to happen.

One of the first true crime books I read.

Going to the woods was a common thing in my working class rural community. My first birthday was spent camping with extended family in the deep woods. Rural people think city people are crazy for exposing children to the violence of city life and working class people wonder how rich people could allow their kids to drown in the swimming pool. As someone who spent considerable time in both environments, the woods are much safer than the city, especially for children.

Go, Chrissy. Kicking ass, taking names and hopefully on her way to Sole Survivor. I mean, since she's the Most Evil That Ever Eviled™, and is voting everyone out all alone, there's no way for her to lose, right? Seriously, though, I love this season. Several smart, strategic players on both sides. Even Joe, who I don't like, is a smart guy. Ben needs to fucking go. If the very core of his being is the military, he might need to go home and work on his priorities. He might also be one tick this side of Brandon Hantz, in which case I really blame production for putting him in the situation. Cole is a piece of shit and so is Ben in the physical confrontation with Chrissy. Two men attacking one woman over a fucking idol. Both of these guys are mentally unstable and need institutions until they can act like human beings, ffs. Although, I am sure it's the fault of the Evil Old Woman, so I probably should be nice to Those Poor Boys. Loving this season!! Rivals some of the best ever for strategy. And whispering in camp is no different than sneaking into the woods. Even if Ben wasn't spying on people, just being seen going off in small groups makes people suspicious. So, I don't think it matters.
